Khun Tum missed the chance to say good-bye to Cha-aim aka Aymika at the airport to New York, he didn’t make it on time.
A year has passed and Aymika returns to Thailand. She is sitting in a daze in front of her father’s house when she sees her 3 amigos Bong, Nong, and Chaiporn walking towards her.
‘Aim,’ they say in unison.
Aymika is happy to see her 3 best friends.
‘Bong, Ai-Nong, Ai-Chaiyoh,’ she greets back at them.
Aymika immediately dashes toward her 3 best friends. ‘How did you guys get her? She asked her friends.
‘How dare you ask us, you came back and you don’t even tell us,’ answered Bong.
Aymika is taken back and sheepishly replied: ‘I am going through jet-lag, once I got better I was gonna report to you guys.’
‘Have you thought of telling Khun Tum at all?’ Nong asked. Aymika turned her head around and pretended to not be interest. ‘Why would I tell him for? Me and him have nothing to do with each other.’
‘Well that is a reassurance. All of us were concerned you might get hurt. At this moment, Khun Tum is married,’ said Bong toying with her emotions.
In a state of shock, Aymika asked her friend Bong: ‘What did you say? Khun Tum is married now?’
‘Correct, the daughter of a diplomat, beautiful, cute, from an important family, and most importantly not foolish,’ said Bong.
Aymika slipped up and showed her discontentment by mumbling: ‘You said you loved me deeply, it’s only been a year and you get marry. Cheater. No endurance whatsoever.’
After seeing her reaction, Bong, Nong, and Chai immediately started laughing.
‘Did you guys lie to me.’ Aymika asked her friends with anger and walked away from them.
‘Er…all you do is run away, if I was Khun Tum, I would not wait for a woman like you.’ Chaiporn teased.
Aymika heard the word ‘wait’ and stopped and immediately turned around to face her 3 friends.
‘What did you say? Khun Tum is still waiting for me?’ She asked.
Her three friends nod ‘yes.’
She doesn’t get it. ‘He let me go without making contact with me, what kind of waiting is that?’
‘To wait like a person who loves you, he let you go without begging because he wanted you to concentrate on your studies. He was thinking of your future that is why he did that,’ Bong told her.
Nong walked over and touched Aymika’s shoulders and said in all seriousness: ‘Listen to me Aim. A guy like Khun Tum is nearly impossible to find on earth. You have to find him up in heaven. Are you gonna let someone good and who loves you slip away because of your crazy stubbornness and your stupidity?’
Aymika paused for a moment deep in thought.
‘Then what should I do?’ She asked.
All three of her friends smiled.
Aymika is driving to somewhere far and the voices of her 3 friends appeared in her thoughts.
‘If you love him, you should follow the sound of your heart. Where is your heart, then you go there,’ said Bong.
‘If you go see him, don’t take your foolish to him, ‘ added Chai.
‘Correct! If not, I will encourage Khun Tum to flirt with another girl,’ said Nong.
Aymika is in a rush to get to Khun Tum, the car in front is going by slowly testing her patience. She rolls down her window and shouts out, ‘Can you hurry up, I’m in a hurry to see my boyfriend.’
Aymika gets to Khum Tum’s beach house and hesitate a bit. ‘Can I do this?’ She asked herself. She gave herself a prep talk and continued on her way. ‘This is the last chance, you have to, no holding back, ‘she told herself. She clenched her first and breathed with determination. She looked around his house but could not find him, she looked over at the beach.
Khun Tum is packing his boat with supplies on the beach. Aymika comes up behind him and greets. ‘Sawatdee ka (Hi)’.
Khun Tum turned around to see Aymika and is speechless because he never thought she would be here. She smiled sweetly at him.
Though Khun is happy and speechless because he has missed her, he acted pretentious towards her. ‘Who are you looking for?’
Khun Tum turned back to his boat and pretended that he didn’t care. Aymika is speechless and taken back by his coldness. ‘I came here to apply for a job ka.’
‘What job?’ Khun Tum asked baffled.
‘I came to apply for the position of a servant ka.’
Aymika started listing her abilities and skills and took one of his things from him.
He stopped her in her tracks and said:’ it will be difficult, because I am hard to please ( I am self-centered).’
He snatched his belongings back from her like he was annoyed with her.
Aymika is determined to get her man back and replied:’By chance I have good tolerance. No matter now difficult you are, I can endure it.’
Khun Tum has had enough of playtime and told her what he really thought. ‘Stop messing with my head Aymika, you left for a year without contact. You left me be crazy all by myself. Do you ever think about how the other person would feel?’
Aymika is stunned and tried to explained herself.
‘The thing was…’
Khun Tum revealed what he did at the airport. ‘I made an effort to go see you off at the airport. Do you know what it feels like to be determined to see you off and not be able to feels like?’
Aymika:’I…’
‘You should have made contact with me but you didn’t. Do you know how cruel that is?’
Aymika fired back at Khun Tum also. ‘Hey you Khun Tum, you are the one who is cruel. I was gone for a year and you didn’t make contact with me either.’
‘I didn’t want to interefer with your studies, I wanted for you to make contact. It’s you who is cruel. YOu want to leave and you leave and now you are accusing me.’
‘Oy, where is this coming from Khun Tum. Once you see my face, you lay it on thick. I made an effort to drive here from far way not to listen to you complain.’
Khun Tum is taken back.
‘What kind of crazy guy are you, so peevish. No matter how hard I try to make up with you, you won’t give in that is why I left to study aboard. If you are accusing me, you are foolish too.’
Khun Tum becomes upset by her comment. ‘How am I foolish? I am the one who is rational, it’s you who disguised herself and messed with my head and you don’t even know it.’
‘If it was not necessary who would be crazy enough to go be someone’s servant. You have to take care of everything from washing someone’s clothes, to washing the bathroom…oy…it’s tiring. I dont’ want to talk anymore.’
Aymika walked away from Khun Tum in anger, realing he might lose her, Khun Tum chased after Aymika to make up. ‘What Aymika, don’t make me guess, are you gonna apply to be my servant?’
Aymika stops knowing that Khun Tum is trying to make up with her. ‘What of it? You are not mad at me anymore?’
‘I won’t be mad if you become a servant for me only.’
Khun Tum looked at Aymika with anticipation and she looked at him too.
‘Oh, so in actuality you only want a servant.’
‘Correct, at this moment, I am in need of a servant. However, not your typical servant. I want a servant…to share a life together.’
Aymika nearly choked with astonishment. ‘Ha, how can you say all of that. I just realized a guy like you can say something like this.’
Khun Tum is embarrassed by his comment and covers it up by pulling in Aymika for a hug.
‘I am not joking,’ said Khun Tum.
‘I want to ask you frankly, do you have any feelings for me?’
Aymika:’If I didn’t have feelings for you, why would I come here?’
Aymika smiles and explains to Khun Tum that her heart is no longer with her.
‘My heart is no longer with me, I had to go find it.’
Khun Tum released Aymika from his embraced and asked, ‘then where is it at?’
Aymika points at his heart.
‘My heart is there.’
Khun Tum takes Aymika’s hand. ‘In that case the both of us are the same because my heart is not with me either.’
‘Where is it at?’
Khun Tum looked at Aymika and smiled.
‘It’s with the woman in front of me.’
Khun Tum goes in for a kiss and Aymika closes her eyes, he stops because he remembers something.
‘Wait for me.’ He tells her.
He runs back to the house. Strange, Aymika thought to herself.
He goes to get her shoes from the masked charity ball where they first met without knowing it.
I’ll stop it here, a lot of I Love yous and it ends.
