Lord ! You talk my heart about cdramas !! The main problem I repeat it they can't write female lead characters for sh.t !! I stopped watching cdramas and only waiting for Zhang Ruo Yun's Sword Snow stride and JOL2
This is why I appreciate rich female lead's even more because Chinese dramas usually have that male lead is all powerful troupe, I dislike it A LOT.

Are you thinking about Taiwanese dramas in terms of airing? Chinese dramas air really fast, 3 weeks for 24 episodes, even though they won't get subbed right away is a pretty good deal. I don't think they take long to air but that's me LOL.
No, what I mean is they take too long to air a full drama. For example, The Wolf with Wang Dalu, Li Qin and Xiao Zhan finished filming in 2017 but they did not release it until 2020. That's 3 years of waiting for a Chinese drama.

Chinese dramas take way too long to air so I have stopped watching them. Plus, if a lead gets into a scandal the whole drama pretty much get axed before it even airs. Idk how Chinese celebs do it, their dramas get aired 3-4 years after filming, I think thats unfair and ridiculous. Chinese dramas pretty much just like to capitalize on what is currently trendy and who is popular. Its all about $$ for Chinese dramas so the stories aren't that good. Honestly, Chinese entertainment news is more exciting then actual Chinese dramas.

Korean dramas are most advanced in storytelling, cinematography, music and directing. However, they tend to jump on one trend for a long time and all the stories become quite similar with a touch of fantasy or family drama.
The main problem with Chinese dramas though is that the companies usually run out,

Oh yeah I agree on that factor, it's the same case with broker and I've been waiting for a drama since 2 years but it has Jung Il Woo so it has no chances of broadcasting since he is Korean and they refuse to air any dramas with Korean actors, unfair to them but the country status has made it, like that.

They run out of money? interesting...welp, invest wisely. Chinese censorship is a real pain. Interesting how they restrict so much but still its quite a corrupt industry...entertainment industry in most countries can't escape this corrupt nature.

CCP is corrupt, when they still have propagandist tv series today, its no surprise. Also the reason might be because there are so many dramas filmed with Korean actors which will never get aired because of their "issue" to this day

Yup...ccp is .....yah...they currently are forcing the actors to play in this 1 giant propaganda series....

I prefer the web drama...short...easy watch...that can give butterflies....

I watch those ad I skim to see a drama that can sustain my interest and keep it fairly enough....

I watch Marcus Sim YT on Chinese entertainment...he is funny with his satire/bash of dragging storyline and ccp censorship.

Since there is a flood of Cdramas ...tv/web....there are usually some good gems in there...with great Leads (Good character/ characters development)

I feel Taiwanese haven't had any drama in a long time.....I rem. Watching Autum concerto....I am not into angst at all and I really enjoyed that one...

Although I have viki. My families uses more than me. I'm sporadically watch. I'm a binge watcher so I need it to be close to finished or finished.....so waiting on drama isn't an issue....but the scandal...censorship and canceled series are annoying.

I prefer K drama...since it is shorter and has more genre and variety

I found a YT ch that had old lakorns....I watched a few....I love when they have the connections with the family...a loving family...I watched nang lakorn and cried my eyes out

I don’t watch a whole lot of Cdrama anymore, but saw web series called Go Princess Go and fell in love with it!! It was short and get to the point. I fell in love with it! I wanted to watch the Korean remake, Mr. Queen, but can’t seem to move on from Go Princess Go.

Go watch Mr.Queen, it’s so good, much better than Chinese original. And this is the only drama I’ve watched this year. The rest is garbage.

I want to, but I just can’t move on from GPG. Lol. The actress in GPG is so pretty and very good in her role and the leads chemistry was just sizzling. GPG is nostalgic for me, it reminds me of the those slap stick Chinese(mostly Stephen Chow) movies I love growing up.

The actress in Mr.Queen is fabulous too. Never liked her in her previous dramas for some reason, but after Mr.Queen I’ve changed my opinion about her. Plus, storylines in both dramas are really different. So you should give Mr.Queen a try.

I am more into Singapore drama and they are pretty good. For example The Last Madame English drama is good. Some Mediacorp uploaded at YT and with subs. They had decent Tamil, Chinese, Malay and English series as well.

I think I tried as many different countries dramas as I can put my hands on lol. Only shows I have way too much time on me hand. My first Malaysian drama that I watched till the end and wished the male lead would get curb stomp is Ariana Rose hahaha. Ariana was too good for him. The kidnapped and R scene and then he be stalking Ariana. He has the complete behavior of a psycho...basically our pra'ek attitude in the 80s and 90s lol

I happened to watched a few good Nigerian dramas. I don't know...they are my guilty pleasure. I tend to find a drama or movies of theirs to watch once a month. I watched a Kuwaiti drama (forgot the name) and like it. I find other cultures dramas interesting. And it gives me a chance to see what is out there.

Well I got the novel of Ariana Rose, they changed bits and there hahaha...well Malaysian drama that I got hooked recently is Ayahanda. It is from national laureate work and so far it is good. On break sometimes I watch some Vietnamese series.

I'm not trying to ruin anyone's happiness, Infact I enjoy these posts but I think it's so RANDOM how we all got to talking about different countries dramas because these days our Thai lakorns suck, random but enjoyable LOL. Continue on HAHA
