When they got back to school, after their class session, they went to the music room because Mr. Likit had some news to tell them.
Sammie: where were you guys, Som and I looked everywhere but couldn’t find y’all
Teng: oh us four went to grab something to eat
Som: and you guys didn’t invite us?
Aof: we thought that if we brought Satan with us, everyone would get scared
Som: [roll eyes]
Sammie: Win didn’t go with you guys?
Nam: uh….no
Win then walked in with Bebe
Sammie: Win, where were you, I was looking everywhere for you. I tried calling you but you turned off your phone
Win: uh……[looks at Bebe]
Aof: yeah Win…where were you?
Win: I was helping Bebe studying in the library
Nam: [coughs]
Sammie: really? Cuz I went there and I didn’t see you.
Win: you probably wasn’t looking carefully
Sammie: hmmm…maybe
Mr.Likit then came in the room with some news.
Mr.Likit: alright I got something to tell y’all. Next Saturday, the Sirawijit Orphanage Home will be hosting a charity event for the orphans there. They want you guys to go sing for the little kids
Teng: Sirawijit…..hey that’s where I was from
Som: you was an orphan?
Teng: [nods] yeah I lived there for awhile until I was adopted
Som: wow, I never knew that
Mr.Likit: so what do you guys say?
Faai: I say we do it!
Mr.Likit: alright. Here’s your new song that I wrote. You guys can start practicing on it
So after the meeting, Win asked his friends if they wanted to go out and eat.Since they found out about Win and Bebe, no one wanted to go out and eat with him, except for Bebe.
Sammie: oh I can’t. Dad’s taking me to a business party again
Som: I can’t too. I have to get home to my mom. She’s not feeling well
Nam: what’s wrong with aunty?
Som: I don’t know. Lately she’s not been feeling too well. I told her to go see a doctor but she wouldn’t
Aof: well I can’t either. I have a date (smiles)
Win: what about you three? [looks at Nam, Faai, and Tengneung]
Faai: [looks at Nam and Tengneung] yeah, we’ll go
Nam+Tengneung: we will?!
Faai: yeah [gives them the look]
Nam usually drops Som off but since he’s out eating, she had to get her own ride. While waiting for the bus to come, Som sitting at the bus stop hears a car honking. It was Aof
Aof: [scrolls down the car window] hey Ms. Satan, need a ride?
Som: no!
Aof: you sure?It’s dark already and going home alone is dangerous
Som: don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself
Aof: fine. Whatever. {drives off]
Som realized that it was getting dark and she couldn’t wait for the bus anymore since she was worried about her mom. So she decided to walk home instead. On her way home, she noticed somebody was following her. She tunred back but didn’t see anyone so she kept on walking. She noticed the person was getting closer to her so she started walking faster. The person behind her was also walking faster. So she decided to run. The person was also running. Som ran as fast as she can and ran into an alley. She hid behind the trashcan and saw that the person’s shadow was coming up close to her. When it got close to her, she jumped out and kicked him. Turns out that person was Aof! Aof fell to the ground
Som: it’s you! Don’t try to scare me like that again!
Aof: I wasn’t [ tried to get up] help me get up
Som: no! you tried to scare me so this is what you get. Why were you folowing me anyways?
Aof: I was trying to make sure you got home safe [gets up]
Som: [stares at Aof]
Aof: oh, don’t think it in that way! I’m not worried about you but Nam called me to drop you off before I went on my date
Som: I told you that I can take care of myself. Just leave me alone [walks away]
Aof: I know that [grabs Som by the arm} but Nam threaten me that if anything happens to you, he’s gonna kill me so get in the car [pulls Som into his car]
Som: ow! That hurts!
Aof: haha! [gets in the car] now tell me where you live
Som: [ignores him]
Aof: okay, let me rephrase that. If you don’t tell me where you live, I’m gonna kiss you [leans over for a kiss]
Som: okay okay fine! Just keep going straight. I’ll tell you when to turn
When Aof arrived at Som’s house, Som quickly got out the car. Aof followed
Aof: hey! I can’t get a thank you?
Som: [turns around] I don’t have to. I didn’t tell you to drop me off
Aof: [walks up to her closely] okay, you don’t have to say it literally. You can turn those simple two words into a kiss on the cheek [smiles]
Som was about to hit him again but Aof dodged her punch and grabbed her from behind. Som struggles but both fell to the ground, Som falling on top of him. Both stared at each others eyes and there was a moment of silence. Suddenly a noise coming in from the house interrupted them. Som gets up from the ground
Som: mom! [runs into the house]
Aof quickly follows. . When Som got into the house she saw her mom lying down on the ground unconsciously.
Som: [runs to her mom in tears] mom! Mom! Wake up!
Aof: c’mon let’s take her to the hospital
Aof carried Som’s mom into his car and took her to the hospital. While waiting outside the room, Som wasn’t herself. She was worried about her mom, walking back and forth in the hallway
Aof: Som, I think you should calm down
Som: I can’t.
Aof: I’m pretty sure your mom’s gonna be okay
The doctor came out of the room.
Som: doctor, how’s my mom?
The doctor didn’t say anything but told the two of them to follow him
[inside the doctor’s room]
Som: doctor can you tell me what’s wrong with my mom
Doctor: [paused] I don’t know how to tell you……I’m sorry to say that your mom have been diagnosed with leukemia
Som: [shocked] what did you say? How can this be? No! It’s not true. She’s just a little sick that’s all
Doctor: your mom have been like this for a very long time now
Som: how come she never told me about it
Doctor: she didn’t want you to get worried
Aof: doctor, isn’t there a cure to this
Doctor: I’m afraid it’s too late for that now
Som: [in tears] you mean my mom is going to die
Doctor: let’s not focus on that right now. Your mom right now needs your support
Som: how much time do she have left doctor?
Doctor: in less than 3 months
Som: [crying]
After talking with the doctor, Som and Aof walked out.
Som: [in tears] why is this happening. It isn’t fair If she’s gone who’s going to stay with me [breaks down and cries]
Aof didn’t say a word but pulled her closer to him and hugged her……

At the restaurant, neither did Teng, Nam, or Faai spoke. They just ate.
Win: what’s wrong with you guys, how come it’s all quiet?
Nam: [stares at Win]
Win: why you staring at me like that?
Nam: [takes a deep breath] nothing
Nam’s phone rang.
Faai: dang what’s wrong today, seems like your phone’s been ringing all day
Nam: [looks at phone] it’s Aof [answers the phone]
Nam: Hey man, you dropped off Som yet?
Aof: uh….hey come down to the hospital
Nam: why, something happen to you
Aof: no, not me, Som…
Nam: why? What happened to Som?!
Aof: just come down here
Nam: alright I’ll be right there [hangs up]
Tengneung: what happened?
Nam: I gotta go to the hospital
Bebe: why what’s wrong? Is Som okay?
Nam: I don’t know, Aof didn’t say anything
Faai: we’ll all go then
When they reached the hospital, Nam saw Aof sitting outside the room.
Nam: Aof! What happened? Is Som okay?!

Nam: she’s just crying and crying. [sighs] I gotta make a call to Chiang Mai, I’ll be back
Bebe: this shouldn’t be happaning to Som right now
Faai: all she talked about was going to school, making her mom proud and bringing home that degree to show her mom. Now her mom is not even going to stay to watch her graduate….
Nam comes back from making the call.
Nam: look, it’s getting late now. I think you guys should go home, I’ll stay here with Som.
Aof: alright. Tell her we’ll come and visit tomorrow

The next morning, Som’s mom finally woke up
Som: mom, how are you? Are you okay?
Som’s mom: I’m fine
Som: [tears] how come you didn’t tell me about your illness. We could’ve done something before it was too late
Som’s mom: I didn’t want you to be worried about me
Som: but I’m your daughter, no matter what I’m still going to be worried about you
Som’s mom: [crying] I’m sorry for keeping this from you. But you’re going to be okay without me.
Som: don’t say that. That day hasn’t come yet. Let’s just live in this moment and not talk about the future okay [cries and hugs her mom]
Everyone, including Mr.Likit, ditched class to come visit Som and her mom.
Som: [walks out the room] my gosh, you guys came early today.
Faai: we were worried about you. How you doing?
Som: a little better
Sammie: sorry about your mom
Som: thanks
Mr.Likit: how’s your mom?
Som: she just woke up
Tengneung: where’s Nam?
Som: he went back home to take a shower. Don’t you guys have class right now
Aof: we decided to ditch school
Som: what?! You guys didn’t have to. I mean, you guys didn’t have to come visit me this early
Aof: we worried about you, including me (smiles)
Nam’s mom: Som….
Som: [looks to see who’s calling] aunty?! What brings you here?
Nam’s mom: Nam called me last night and told me what happened. Oh sweetie, [hugs Som] I’m so sorry
Som: thank you….
Nam’s mom: well I’m going to go check on your mom real quick
Som: okay
When Nam’s mom went inside the room, Bebe suggested that they all went downstairs to eat.
Win: yeah that’s a great idea.
After they ate breakfast, Mr.Likit told the students to go back to school for band practice because of the charity event happening on Saturday. Everyone went to go say good bye to Som’s mom before leaving.
Som: hey Aof, can I talk to you for a sec?
Aof: sure, what’s up?
Som: I just wanted to thank you about yesterday. I really needed someone to lean on
Aof: no problem. I’m good at comforting people [smiles]
Som: [smiles] I can see that
Aof: if you need anything, just let me know and oh, don’t think too much about it. Everything is going to be okay
Som: [smiles and stares at Aof]
Aof: what?
Som: Faai was right..
Aof: what did she say about me?
Som: nothing. She just told me that you’re not so bad after all once you get to know the real Aof Chanapol
Aof: that’s why the ladies love me [smiles]

Chapter 17
[3 days have passed]
It was a usual day at IST. The groups were practicing for the charity event coming up. Som is now back in school, her mom resting at the house. With all the chaos that have happened lately, Win and Sammie haven’t been spending so much time together. Since Sammie’s birthday is coming up, she thought this would be the perfext opportunity for her and Win to spend some alone time together. Sammie went looking for Win to remind him about her birthday party, not that he will forget but a reminder won’t hurt. She saw Tengneung walking in the hallway.
Sammie: hey Teng, have you seen Win?
Teng: no I haven’t. I’m looking for him too
Sammie: oh for what?
Teng: oh I just wanted to give back his Cds that I borrowed since last summer
Sammie: oh, well let’s try to go find him then
Teng: okay
As they were heading out the hallway, a mob of students came rushing in the hallway. Tengneung pulled Sammie aside so she wouldn’t get runned over.
Sammie: whoa! What was that?!
Teng: I think the seniors are at it again
Sammie: [looks down at her hand] Uh…Teng
Teng: [looks down at his hand and noticed he was holding her hands] oops! Sorry
Sammie: it’s okay. C’mon let’s go find Win
Win was sitting at a table looking at the necklace that Bebe picked out for him. Sammie and Tengneung spotted him sitting down and walked up to him.
Sammie: Win!
Win: [quickly puts necklace away] oh hey Sammie, Teng, what’s up
Tengenung: what are you doing here sitting down all alone?

Saturday came and Bebe got up early so that her mom wouldn’t catch her She went downstairs and her mom was sitting on the couch.
Bebe: mom! What are you doing up so early?
Mom: I had to finish up some papers, what are you doing up so early?
Bebe: I got to get to school
Mom: on a Saturday?
Bebe: uh…I have a study group session with my teacher
Mom: hmmm…alright then but what time will you be back

So she left the house, heading for the Orphanage home
Chapter 18 Preview: Sammie gets supsicious
[3 days have passed]
It was a usual day at IST. The groups were practicing for the charity event coming up. Som is now back in school, her mom resting at the house. With all the chaos that have happened lately, Win and Sammie haven’t been spending so much time together. Since Sammie’s birthday is coming up, she thought this would be the perfext opportunity for her and Win to spend some alone time together. Sammie went looking for Win to remind him about her birthday party, not that he will forget but a reminder won’t hurt. She saw Tengneung walking in the hallway.
Sammie: hey Teng, have you seen Win?
Teng: no I haven’t. I’m looking for him too
Sammie: oh for what?
Teng: oh I just wanted to give back his Cds that I borrowed since last summer
Sammie: oh, well let’s try to go find him then
Teng: okay
As they were heading out the hallway, a mob of students came rushing in the hallway. Tengneung pulled Sammie aside so she wouldn’t get runned over.
Sammie: whoa! What was that?!
Teng: I think the seniors are at it again
Sammie: [looks down at her hand] Uh…Teng
Teng: [looks down at his hand and noticed he was holding her hands] oops! Sorry
Sammie: it’s okay. C’mon let’s go find Win
Win was sitting at a table looking at the necklace that Bebe picked out for him. Sammie and Tengneung spotted him sitting down and walked up to him.
Sammie: Win!
Win: [quickly puts necklace away] oh hey Sammie, Teng, what’s up
Tengenung: what are you doing here sitting down all alone?
Win: oh, just thinking

Bebe arrived at the orphanage and noticed that reporters and cameras were there. She got worried a little.
Bebe: Mr. Likit, how come you didn’t tell us that reporters and the cameras were going to be here?
Mr. Likit: oh I forgot. Sorry. But yeah today they going to broadcast it live
Bebe knew that if reporters took pictures of her and that this event will be broadcast live then her mom would find out about it and that she lied to her mom.
Faai: are you okay Bebe?
Bebe: yeah…I think so
Teng: look, if you’re worried about performing again, just use the method I taught you
It was time for the performance.Win gave out a little speech before they started singing.

Back at Bebe’s house, the maid was watching Bebe performed and her mom has just came downstairs. She saw Bebe on TV but the maid turned off the television.
Mom: what was that that you were watching?
Maid: uh…nothing m’am
Mom: nothing? I just saw Bebe on TV, turn it back on
Maid: uh…
Mom: now!
So the maid turn the TV back on and Bebe’s mom saw her own daughter on TV. She was mad that Bebe had lied to her so she walked out the house and went straight to the orphanage home. After the performance, they stayed with the kids to play with them. Outside, Mr.Likit was talking to the head lady who was in charge of the orphanage home and noticed a car pulled up. It was Bebe’s mom.
Mom: excuse me, but I’m here to pick up my daughter
Mr. Likit: I’m sorry but who’s your daughter?
Mom: Bebe
Mr. Likit: She’s inside
Her mom then walked inside the home and she saw Bebe talking to Tengneung.
Mom: [pulls Bebe away] Bebe, let’s go home
Bebe: mom! What are you doing here?
Mom: I should ask you the same question. I thought you had a study group session with your teacher

Everyone was in shock to see her mom react that way. Tengneung was worried about her, and so was Win.

Sammie: [looks at Win with suspicion]

Win went to go drop off Sammie and he stayed quiet the whole time he was driving. Sammie thought about what Aof said earlier to Win.
Sammie: are you okay Win? You’ve been quiet since we got in the car
Win: I’m just worried about Bebe
Sammie: seems like you’re really worried about her like Aof said
Win: Bebe’s your friend, aren’t you worried about her?
Sammie: yeah I am but you act like her mom is gonna kill her or something

Back at Bebe’s house, Bebe got in trouble for lying to her mom
Mom: how come you didn’t tell me the truth, why did you have to lie to me?
Bebe: if I told you the truth, you wouldn’t let me go
Mom: why wouldn’t I let you go to a good event like that, unless you have something else to hide
Bebe: no I don’t. I went there to do community service with the kids. And the reason why I didn’t tell you about everything else is because you never let me do what I want to do
Mom: oh so you’re saying that I’m treating you like a prisoner in this house
Bebe couldn’t hold it in anymore so she starts talking back
Bebe: yeah! You do treat me like a prisoner
Mom: I’m doing this to protect you!
Bebe: fro what? My friends?!…they’re not going to do anything to me
Mom: the girls won’t but the guys will
Bebe: they’re good people and they wouldn’t do that
Mom: how can you be so sure?
Bebe: mom, I’m not going to be easy like you when you were in school!
Mom: [slaps]
Bebe just went upstairs to her room and stayed there. The next morning, Bebe came downstairs to eat but didn’t say any word to her mom.

Sammie and her dad was setting up the things for her birthday. It was a small party that included her friends that she hangs out with everyday and some other friends from her other classes. Faai and Nam arrived first.
Nam: I guess we’re the first one here
Faai: that’s good because if we were to arrive late, there won’t be any cake left for us
Sammie: hey guys, here so early
Faai: yeah [chuckles] Oh, here’s your present and happy birthday
Sammie: thanks….I’ll open it after the party
Soon more people came and Sammie noticed that there seem to be more people than she invited
Mr.Caldwell: Sammie, I thought you were only inviting your close friends only, this seems like the whole school
Sammie: I did but I don’t know why there’s so many people
Sammie stops one of the students and asked her how they know about her birthday
Student: oh I heard it from Aof
Sammie: [sighs] of course, he would invite the whole school
Aof: [comes up behind Sammie] happy birthday Sammie
Sammie: [turns around] There you are. Why did you invite so many people to my party.
Aof: I didn’t. I only invited some people but I guess the word got around
Sammie: there probably won’t be enough food

Bebe: so did you give Sammie the necklace yet?
Win: yeah, she likes it
Bebe: that’s good. I thought she wouldn’t like my sense of style

Sammie was crushed because she thought that Win bought her the necklace, but turns out it was Bebe that chose the necklace for him. She didn’t even bother telling them that it was time to blow out the cake. She walked away, taking off the necklace and threw it away in the trash. She went inside her house to wash her face from crying and went back to the party. By the time she came back out, Win and Bebe was already waiting for her with the other people.
Faai: [running to Sammie] where were you, we were waiting for you to blow out the cake
Sammie: oh I had to use the restroom
Faai: c’mon everyone’s waiting
So everyone sang the Happy Birthday song to Sammie and Sammie made a wish and blew out the cake. Afterwards, everyone was trying to get a piece of her delicious cake.

That night after the party, Sammie was in her room trying to figure out something about Win and Bebe. She knew something was up but couldn’t think of anything.
[a knock on the door]
Sammie: come in
Mr.Caldwell: hey sweetie, I came to give you your present
Sammie: oh dad, you didn’t have to get me anything
Mr.Caldwell: I know but I did anyways so open it
Sammie: [opens the present]
Mr.Caldwell: It’s your mom’s wedding ring. I wanted you to have it
Sammie: but this is mom’s
Mr. Caldwell: I know but I think she wanted you to have it and cherish it

The next day, Sammie distance herself from Win. Even during band practice she stayed quiet and didn’t talk to anyone. Bebe invited everyone to her house for dinner. Everyone agreed to go, everyone except for Sammie. But Faai begged her to go so Sammie just gave in. At Bebe’s house, her mom was preparing dinner. Bebe went inside the kitchen to tell her that her friends are here. The rest waited in the living room, waiting to greet Bebe’s mom. When her mom walked into the living room, everyone stood up to greet her.
Mom: hello everyone. Thanks for coming
Som: your house look lovely
Mom: thank you. Dinner is almost ready okay. Just make yourself at home, I’ll be in the kitchen
Faai: oh aunty, can I go help you?
Mom: sure you can
Nam: Faai, you want to help her make the food or help taste the food?
Faai: maybe both?
Nam: pig!
Faai: thanks [smiles]
So Faai left into the kitchen with Bebe and her mom to cook the food. The others hung out in the living room, looking through photo albums. Win noticed how Sammie was quiet so he asked her what’s wrong.
Win: hey, what’s wrong?
Sammmie: nothing
Win: are you sick?
Sammie: no I’m fine
As Nam, Aof, Som, and Tengneung were looking through the photo album, they came upon a picture of Win and Bebe.
Som: hey that’s-
Aof: [covers Som’s mouth with his hands]
Sammie: what’s going on?
Nam: oh, uh…Som was about to sneeze
Aof: yeah, and I uh I…’m covering her mouth for her so she won’t spread the germs
[Bebe comes in]
Bebe: hey guys, dinner’s ready
[Everyone gets up to go to the dining room, Aof and Som stayed behind for a little]

Aof: it’s a long story. I’ll tell you later

Mom: thank you. Dinner is almost ready okay. Just make yourself at home, I’ll be in the kitchen
Faai: oh aunty, can I go help you?
Mom: sure you can
Nam: Faai, you want to help her make the food or help taste the food?
Faai: maybe both?
Nam: pig!
Faai: thanks [smiles]
So Faai left into the kitchen with Bebe and her mom to cook the food. The others hung out in the living room, looking through photo albums. Win noticed how Sammie was quiet so he asked her what’s wrong.
Win: hey, what’s wrong?
Sammmie: nothing
Win: are you sick?
Sammie: no I’m fine
As Nam, Aof, Som, and Tengneung were looking through the photo album, they came upon a picture of Win and Bebe.
Som: hey that’s-
Aof: [covers Som’s mouth with his hands]
Sammie: what’s going on?
Nam: oh, uh…Som was about to sneeze
Aof: yeah, and I uh I…’m covering her mouth for her so she won’t spread the germs
[Bebe comes in]
Bebe: hey guys, dinner’s ready
[Everyone gets up to go to the dining room, Aof and Som stayed behind for a little]
Som: why did you do that for?
Aof: it’s a long story. I’ll tell you later
They then both headed into the kitchen with the others

Chapter 22
After dinner, everyone came into the living room to talk. Bebe’s mom apologized to everyone for judging them first before getting to know them.
Mom: I want to apologize to everyone for the way I acted. Bebe told me how great of a person you guys are but I didn’t believe her.
Nam: what do you think of us now?
Mom: you guys are good people and I’m happy that Bebe have friends like you guys
Teng: sorry for asking but why did you think of us in that way?
Mom: [sighs] because I thought you guys would hurt my daughter like my friends hurted me when I was in school
Som: what happened?
Mom: when I was about your age, I had a group of friends who I thought were my friends. I trusted them. In those group of friends, I got close to one of the guys and him and I started going out. I truly thought he was the one for me until I found out that he was just a jerk. He wanted to rush into things where I wanted to wait until we graduate first. I told him that if he really loves me then he can wait. So he said that he’ll wait when I’m ready. Then there was this party that his friends hosted and he invited me to go with him. I went and we were having fun, partying and listening to music. I then left to go to the restroom with my girlfriends. When I came back, he and his friends left to go somewhere, so I sat down on the couch to eat while I waited for him. Then I realized that I was feeling a little sleepy. He finally came back and told me that he’d take me home. By the time I got to my car, I was knocked out already so I couldn’t remember anything that night. The next morning I woke up in a hotel, with him right next to me. I was really mad and sad that he would do such an awful thing to me. I just then left him there. I later found out that that party was all a set up. A month later I found out I was pregnant and decided to tell him. When I went to tell him, he pretended that he didn’t know me and that I was some kind of stranger who didn’t know who was her baby’s father is. That’s when I knew he was a jerk. Then my parents took me and decided to move into the province where I gave birth to Bebe. Since then I promise myself that I will never let the same thing happen to Bebe like it did to me.
Faai: we’re sorry about what happened
Mom: that’s why I was so protective of Bebe
Teng: don’t worry aunty, I will make sure that nothing like that happen to Bebe [smiles]
Mom: thank you. [smiles] but the person I want to apologize the most to is Win
Sammie: what about Win?
Mom: I was the reason that they broke up
Som: what? You mean Win and Bebe used to date?
Mom: yes I thought you guys know about it already
Som: not me
Sammie: I didn’t know either [looks at Win]
Som: hold on [goes and takes the picture of Win and Bebe out of the photo album] so is this the picture when you guys took when you were still together?
Sammie: let me see that [takes the picture from Som]
Mom: Win and Bebe dated when they were in high school, but at that time, I didn’t trust Win so I made Bebe break up with him
All the suspicion that Sammie had about Win and Bebe all makes sense now. Sammie got up, threw the picture at Win, and walked outside Win followed her.
[outside]
Win: Sammie wait
Sammie: [in tears] what do you want?
Win: just let me explain
Sammie: there’s no need for an explanantion. I already know everything. How come you didn’t tell me about you and Bebe?
Win: I thought it wasn’t important
Sammie: still, whether I care or not, you should’ve told me instead of acting like Bebe is just a new friend that you just met
Win: I’m sorry
Sammie: honestly, I don’t think I would care that you and Bebe used to date but the fact that you lied to me, that part hurts.And I wasn’t gonna say this but since this is out in the open I mind as well say it. Ever since I moved to Thailand, we haven’t spend that much time together. Is it because you were spending it with her?
Win: no [sighs] why would you think that?
Sammie: cuz sometimes, you can be so obvious. Like that one time when I was looking for you at school and you walked in the room with her and I asked you where were you and you told me that you were helping her study. I know you weren’t studying, you took her shopping instead. Or that time when her mom came and got her, you were being more concerned about her than everyone else
Win: that’s because I knew how her mom is and I didn’t want to tell you that I went to go buy you a birthday present
Sammie: [wipes tears] I’m going to ask you this once and you better tell me the truth….do you still have feelings for her?
Win: [paused] no I don’t
Sammie: somehow I don’t seem to believe that but whatever. I’ll take your word on that but if I find out that you weren’t telling me the truth, then we’re done because I don’t want to be with someone who doesn’t love me [walks away but walks back to Win] oh I forgot, [digs in her purse and took out some cash] here, it’s the money for the necklace, since I didn’t like it, I threw it away. And make sure you tell your ex-girlfriend that try not to spend so much time with other people’s boyfriend if she doesn’t want to be called “the girl who is trying to steal other people’s boyfriend”
Sammie left with anger and drove off.

[back in the house]
Mom: oh I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to make those two misunderstand each other. I didn’t know Sammie is Win’s girlfriend
Bebe: I feel so bad right now
Teng: it’s okay, it’s not your fault. It’s bound to happen, if not in this way then some other ways
Som: so the only people that didn’t know about this were Sammie and I…hmpf…such good friends you guys are
Nam: [looks at his watch] hey we should get going, it’s getting late
Aof: yeah I agree. And thanks for the lovely dinner
Mom: you’re welcome [smiles] come visit again
Faai: we will
So they said goodbye to Bebe and her mom and headed home. Win left shortly after Sammie have left. The next few days, Win have been trying to reconcile with Sammie but it didn’t work. Sammie was still mad at Win and Bebe and she wasn’t going to give in easily. Band practice had a weird atmosphere. No one was talking to each other and everyone was all pitchy on the notes. Tengneung decided that they take a break from it.
Teng: um… I think it’s best if we just take a break for awhile
Sammie: that’s good because if I stay in here any longer, I’m gonna have to hit someone [walks out the room]
Win: [sighs]
Bebe: I’m sorry Win
Win: no don’t be [walks out the room]
