Err, I'm currently reading George R.R Martin titled A feast for Crows. It's a political fantasy. I'm a big fan of his works. Basically, I'm into the whole sci-fi/fantasy genre.

niice...hopefully, i can find ebooks of vonnegut to share, if only i can zap my vonnegut collection into digital pieces, i'd put them out there.

i love ur list. lolita is twisted but a great literary and linguistic work; things fall apart truly falls together and trainspotting and frankenstein are novel classics...i hope ur enjoying them. i'm down for a literary discussion anytime. but i've loved to check out the others on ur list there, especially porno, provocative title.
p.s. i have great friends who reads trashy romance novels too...it's the best thing to shop for at flea markets. i'm sure they're down to exchange collections with u :D so maybe they're not too trashy afterall...since they hang around long enuf. :p

Speaking of reading. I've actually purchased the DaVinci Code awhile 5 months ago and Angels and Demons 3 months ago and they're both stilll sitting on my bookshelf untouched.

Sarnie Clown!
-Bean rocks!! Ender's ehhh.

-Angels and Demons is good. I haven't read The Da Vinci Code yet.

-I'm currently reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. I've heard good things about it and it's currently going pretty well.

-I highly recommend Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "100 Years of Solitude." Maybe throw in Beloved too (I finally agree with Oprah on something).

-I'm also reading Shen(2) Diao(1) Xia(2) Lu(3), aka Return of the Condor Heroes for all those who watches the chinese show (although actual title is more Heavenly Condor and Heroic Couple). The story is one of my favorite but my chinese isn't that proficient so it's going kinda slow (because I read in chinese but also compare it with the english translation).

-For a nice poetic feel, read "The Gangster We Are All Looking For" by Le Thi Diem Thuy. I know her because she went to my high school and we grew up in the same neighborhood. The book doesn't have a plot, but I feel like I'm taking a trip down my own memory lane when I read it. You might be able to evoke fond memories of your own and exorcise old demons from reading it.

-For a visit back to childhood, read "Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher" by Bruce Colville. He used to be one of my fav authors as a kid (with memorables just as "Aliens Ate My Homework" and stuff). What's amazing about this book is that while it is a kids book, it has so much heart in it. It makes you believe in the magic of Midsummer Night.

There, that's my contribution to your edumacation.

i can't believe i missed this thread.

ok, hmmm...first, thanks natty...im actually into both, science fiction and greek/roman mythology...so i'll keep those two authors in mind.

p.s. great recommendations from everyone. i would like to vouch for Tom Clancy books...all his books are good...especially if you are into the military science stuff.

my favorite book, however, is "asking and listening: ethnography and personal adaptation", by Paul Bohannan and Dirk van der Elst. i've read and re-read this book many times. it should be pretty simple reading and it teaches you a lot about BEING human, as well as understanding HUMANITY, in general. kind of a short book. only 102 pages. but at least you won't get bored if you're not into anthropology. LOL anywho, go out and get it. you will learn a lot from it, and you will love it...i hope.

i just ordered 38 books from amazon. im going to treat myself. you guys should do the same. hahaha

p.s. don't ask me how much i spent.
