I’ve done some translation before and Asian language to English is probably the hardest. Asian languages are context-rich - you need to understand culture to really understand what is being said. Plus more Asian cultures are also more subtext-rich (what is not said is often more than what is being said). English is a language where the communicated meaning is more captured in dialogue. Speakers are often upfront about what they mean by what they say. Often I think Asian to Asian language translation is easier in terms of culture and subtext.

I agree with you though.. I always thought Ch3 should always offer their old dramas to Netflix. Like Juthatep, or the 4 Huajai series. Some of their evening dramas too. Creates demand for their current dramas in the streaming services.

Yes... I did stated, I know they need to adjust the wording that is similar.

I have also translated Thai for lakorns before and it is hard, takes a lot of time .rewriting, some words there is no translation for....esp ...subbing....

I still feel we didn't do anything wrong is better than we are clean

I happened to find a social media post (on IG, I think) that announced Film & Jam are ending their BL pairing and they will now work on other projects and with other actors. They might still work together in the future but for now they’re pursuing other opportunities. And their international fans are upset? What is this delusion? Do these people not realise that these guys are… actors?

I know the BL fanbase is huge but I didn’t realise they’re nuts.

When I read their comments it was like reading deluded fan girl thoughts from livejournal & tumblr era. :confused0:

I'm on IG and people are thinking NY broke up just because they are too busy and have to postpone the wedding for a bit. People are confused because Nadech didn't go to Yaya's bday party? GRRRR I'm actually angry the media and fans are making a fuss out of this. How is it any of our business what they do with their wedding? Seriously, get a grip! Nadech has a drama, movie and now stage play along with CFs, meetings, etc and they expect him to plan a wedding this year?! OMG. Let the boy breath! I'm surprised he's still so damn nice to the media and his fans. Yaya too! Crazy fans are taking advantage of two very hard working and kind people. Let them live their lives, how much more do they need to prove that they are a loving couple? I wish they plan their wedding quietly and don't even let people know when they get hitched because a lot of people don't deserve to witness it! Whew. Good I got that out of my system. lol

@neenavaj I’ve been seeing that too and honestly I think people are nuts. That’s why I say Thai fans are too used to having their celebs oversharing that if they don’t see people together they just assume these people are not getting along or fighting wtf.

I think it’s cos I’m an older millenial who can remember life without social media, but social media really doesn’t show every single moment of a person’s life! Judging a celeb by what we see in public is like judging our lives back in the day by our photo albums or something.

I heard Nadech saying their wedding is postponed for now with no definite date and I wasn’t surprised by it. Look at how busy they are. And the decision seems mutual and understood by their families too so who are we to judge?

The issue is of course uncreative reporters then take these random netizen ramblings as valid questions and bother the artistes with it. Sigh.

I would like to apologize to NY on behalf of all the good fans, we know you and trust your decisions. As for the people creating false commotions, shame on you. Your not wanted.

I feel bad for celebrities at times. Lack of privacy , so much speculation, ppl only see the outside but on the inside they might be going through so much more than fans will ever understand. There’s definitely a price to pay.

Lmao... these crazy fans need to leave their stars alone! For God's sake, Film has acted in dramas with his female partners since forever, and Jam also has various kinds of work that have female costars. Just because Khun Chai and Law of Attraction did well doesn't mean they have to stick to that BL roles forever! Moreover, I have lost count on how many times Jam stated that he IS STRAIGHT! For god's sakes, some people cannot really handle the idea of letting the two become good friends and brothers to each other!

Looks like Nadech has newfound interest in his career again after striking gold with his recent movies, I think it's great. His fans and the public should be excited and supportive of it. He's going to be busy!!!! It's been usually Yaya so has been booked and busy while he's been the supportive partner but now the roles has been reversed thanks to him seemingly being excited about his career again, this is great. Weird for ppl to speculate the worst but I think like you've all pointed out, Thai celebs and just that industry really created such an dynamic with their fans that that's almost no true privacy bc of how much their over share too

I mean, I saw the title of the post that they made the announcement and I was like, “Huh? Is this the kind of thing that needs to be announced?” :confused0: Then I saw the fans’ comments and was like wtf is wrong with people. They are actors, they accept roles in which they act. That’s not their real lives.

I agree. But with these things…. Isn’t it a matter of fate/luck/timing too? Could be Nadech was bored with the kind of roles he was getting. Honestly, Yaya was getting good roles though. Each of her roles outside Ch3 is different from each other. Nadech wasn’t. It’s a problem of typecasting, and Ch3 making dramas with same old plots, or worse, remakes. I suspect if he was getting same old roles, he wouldn’t have a problem holding them off just to have his wedding. But for good roles, if you don’t accept them now, we’ll never know when they might come again. He and Yaya have been together so long and been through so much together, netizens are just being ridiculous. Nadech doesn’t have to apologize to anyone other than Yaya and their families regarding this.

Seriously, netizens need to go out and touch grass. I’m even seeing fans aged 30 and above fighting each other online regarding their stars and I’m like, OMG people are being ridiculous. They need to get lives. But the worst is that Thai media takes this nonsense which aren’t real problems to go and bother the stars with it! Why are stars being forced to address nonsensical ramblings of random people online?!

Sidenote-- Just wanted to say RIP to actor Winai Kraibutr, who left behind his wife and young children. I had no idea he had been suffering from such a painful skin condition at his young age for the past few years. Broke my heart even more that in his last days, he just wanted to be with his wife, being clingy despite his pain and tiredness, for him to go to the hospital and not wait back up. He was an amazing actor, and always added amazingly in the supporting roles he played later on in his career. I hope he is no longer in pain and rests in peace!

Ooh.. I didn’t really know who that actor was but just figured out I’ve seen him in movies. Autoimmune disorders are horrible. Essentially one’s body is attacking itself and often the illness cannot be cured, only managed as best as possible so that the patient can continue living as normal a life as possible. May he rest in peace now.

me too, actually. She’s so much into her image and branding and is a super workaholic too. So I’m not surprised it takes someone like that to impress her. It’s supposedly a heir of the CP group so if true, good for her. Hopefully everything goes well cos I don’t usually hear much of this family getting involved with dara? But I’m not Thai so I don’t know. But hopefully there aren’t problems on that end.

she has an event this weekend so if she meets press then I guess she’ll speak about it.

and if true then it could also prove my theory why Pope has been so distant with her publicly, aww.

I am glad Thai celebrities are able to choose who they can love publicly. This is one thing I like about Thai entertainment, there is a line between reality and tv series, they may ruin fan girl lives but not theirs. I appreciate that. lol
