VIRUS VIRUS

I'm a little confused. I keep getting a pop-up message that leads me to this site http://amaena.com/security/?aid=fromhome&lid=redir

And I've been getting stupid porn pop-ups. I DON'T GO ON PORN SITES!!! And I think I'm getting these pop-ups because I was trying to download this program. Well, my computer started to go crazzzy on me... so I rebooted my computer and the virus was gone. But I'm still getting pop-ups, and I downloaded the ad-adware program to get rid of that kind of stuff. But it won't work. Can anyone help me? PLEASSE!!

Its not virus. Its malware or spyware.

First of all DO NOT download ANY POPUP advertised product. Thats your first mistake. Those are just scare tactics to freak you out to buy stuff.

You probably got really bad infection. It'll take some work to cleanthat out. Running those ad program isn't enough.

Is ad-aware the only thing you used?

Don't worry I didn't download any of those pop-up stuff. I only have ad-aware. What do you suggest I do? Thanks for your help Darvil!! Really, THANK YOU!!

first go to www.sarnworld.com/programs

Download CWGshredder.exe and Hijackthis.exe

Close all your browsers, including this, and run CWGshredder first.

See if it removes anything.

After that run Hijackthis.exe

It'll make a log file. You can post that here Or the easier method is to copy and paste everything it finds.. then PASTE THAT thing as a reply.

I will look thru your list and tell you what to check off and delete.

Your system looks pretty good. I only found one thing that I pasted below. I'm probably missing something since some of these suckers are great at hiding.

O2 - BHO: WTLHelper Object - {6D33B121-5C4C-4450-9D1F-7B67085CC199} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddaby.dll

This looks like a bad thing. Look at the google solution I linked

hello ...if all else fails you can do a system restore... how long ago did u start having this problem? is it within this month?

Jonnan

sarNie Egg
I had this problem about 2 weeks ago. The problem actually was a virus because my computer was telling me that. So I did a system restore... I restarted the whole computer so it was like brand new. But then afterwards I had spyware problems. I don't really want to do another restore because it isn't good for the computer if you do it too many times.

So you don't think I can just delete it. That site won't let me see the solution without payment. I really don't have any money.

Okay... it did not work. Or maybe I did something wrong. Do you think totally restarting my computer will work? Will it get rid of the spyware?

what did not work?

no I don't think you can easily kill it that way.. thats why I gave you the link above.

I saved it as an MHT file for you so you can see how other people destroyed it.

I colored the results I thought looks a little funny.
