Chapter 2
Chakrit got anxious this morning. his maid burned the edge of his clothes by ironing, he was supposed to wear that for Tik and Kob's wedding. Better that he found out earlier and he sent out some people to buy him a new one. He wanted to appear his best and he dont want just an ordinary formal attire.
A ten o'clock sharp in the morning, his order was there already. Tik just called and he was already in the church and being anxious either. Thinking that his bride might change her mind and might not come.
He had to laugh at that. "Relax, bro. She will come, you know that all brides wanted to look beautiful once they face the altar", he assured his friend.
He dressed fastly. In a moment, he brought his van together with his mother, his sister together and with her children. He was excited.
He also felt funny because not even a bit he never felt bitter. He was happy for his friend, happy for Kob. The problem is that's not what the people expecting from him, including his family. Until now, his family thinks that he still feel bitter because Kob didn't chose him.
But he would get by. Someday or maybe soon, he would find the right woman for him. He remembered what his friend Matt said: "You're not really in love, bro", he said when the last time they talked. "You only saw your ideal woman from Kob. It's just that timing you are free to court and you courted her. But there's no connection your ideal woman from true love. Kob is not your true love".
"How did you know? How do I know?", he asked.
"I just felt it. You'll just feel it. I can't explain it. You won't be able to explain it, but you'll know it", Matt assured him, next thing happened he was invited to be the best man of the wedding.
Best man forever has always been my role in this world, he said to himself. he slowly hold onto his gear handle as the driver of the car infront of him signals him. At first he let it be, but the green box type isn't transferring to other lane. The driver still composing his hands on him, he even press the horn but the driver didn't transfer yet to the other lane.
He was pissed and so he needed to overtake from that car. A lady driver who's wearing a scarf with smoke glasses. He wanted to hit that car as he realize that the lady wasn't signaling her hand to him, it even looked like she was drying her nail polish!
The woman also looked familiar and he felt bizarre stirring in his guts. He let his van in a sudden burst of flight to overtake from that woman's car and let her rained with full of dust.
"That asshole!", Aom said as she saw the van overtake her. She cleaned up her fingers, she hold something stick when she opened the glove compartment of the car. There was a fuel got wasted and the owner didn't even cleaned it up.
She rented this car because she doesn't want Mary get into the bus. Her colds might get worst. Eversince she got back to Thailand Mary got colds and she's worried about it.
She saw a street corner that led her to Tik's house. She only visited once in their house, but she didn't forgot the way.
The color of the gate didn't even change. She stopped the car infront of Tik's house and get out the car. Pressing the doorbell. She asked the lady who peeps if where was Tik.
"He's in the church right now", the lady said. "He's going to get marry today..."
"Today is Tik's wedding?"
The lady just nod. "Who are you?"
"Aom... thanks, anyway. I'll just go there."
Infront of the church, obviously everyone's getting so hype. There were cars who double parked and even created a traffic a long their way, the noises of the horn both left and right. She can feel the excitement of her surrounding.
She had no choice but to park at the other street corner before the church. She shouldered her carryall bag that filled with her things and Mary's things. She then carry baby Mary and started to walk.
The activities from the patio of the church, she could tell that Tik's wedding is something to look out for. The entrance of the church was filled with Birds of Paradise and the long red carpet 'til where the bridal car parked. it was a new white Mercedes-Benz.
The wedding was starting already, the two who's going to get marry were sitting infront of the altar. The priest was preaching. She sat at the last pew.
Even if she was far, only the back of the groom she could see, she was really sure that it was Tik. She could also feel the joy. In fact, Tik's getting marry inside of this church, as if there's no place for bitterness. Every face she saw looked happy.
She couldn't help smiling. Finally, Tik found the right woman. His being playboy was a legend. She wondered what the bride looked like.
Lucky girl, she said to herself.
An hour later, the mass was over and picture-taking. Awhile ago, while they were taking pictures of the newly weds, together with their relatives and friends, she herself hide from her seat. She dont wanna see Chakrit.
But she had to admit, her heart went crazy when she saw the man, looking dignified and dashing to his formal suit. It was natural for her to react that way since this is the first time she saw him after ten years. They had a bad separation that time.
Hmp, that was her last line to Chakrit. Grrr, was his response from her, as if he wanted to slaughter her life.
She chase out her memories with Chakrit and ready herself meet up with the newly weds. One of the bride's maid poured some rice and the other one was pouring the newly weds with petals. It was indeed a happy occasion.
Click of the cameras and the never ending "congratulations" and "best wishes" she heard. She could also see now that the bride was quite striking, lovely in an understated way.
She got jealous all of a sudden. When she will wear a wedding gown? When she will say those lines, "I do?"
Tik was the first one who saw her. He blinked twice, to be sure if what he sees is true.
"Aom!", he shouted to be sure and he left his bride for awhile. She approached her friend.
"Congratulations, Tik. I am happy for you". She gave her friend a peck kiss on the cheek, but she saw him staring at Mary. "This is Mary," she said.
"Hello, Mary!", he made a "coochie-coochie" sound. Mary then smile. "Your baby's cute...", he said and put his arms on her shoulder to let her meet with his bride. "Kob, sweetheart, this is Aom, our friend".
"Hi!", the bride simply greeted her. She got even more prettier when she smiled.
"Best wishes, Kob and nice meeting you". She kissed her on the cheek.
"Thanks"
Then she stared to Pio once again because she heard him saying something.
"Bro, look who's here?", he said to Chakrit.
He already saw her. But she couldn't tell if he was happy or not. Then, his attention went onto Mary, he was poker-faced, she had no idea if what was he thinking.
Chakrit looked at her once again, he partly nodded and turned his attention to the newly weds. "I'll go ahead, bro", he said turning his back.
Tik was just grinning at her. "He hasn't recovered his allergy from you". She just smile. "You have a car, right? Just follow us to the reception. To our farm."
"Tik, I wanted to talked to you. I have a problem and I need your help".
He nodded. "Later at the reception. People starting to get bore there, hungry already". She walk with them until they got out of the church.
TRUST Tik to invite that woman, Chakrit said to himself while driving to the reception where the gathering was held. If there's someone whom he dont wanna ever see again, that would be none other than Aom Phiyada, the brat from Mars.
But because he saw her again, looking as striking as ever, he couldn't help himself to remember the past. He sighed. He was certain that he would never see her again. But he did.
Aom was a transferee student then in their university. During their first meeting, he knew that she was different from among the other girls. She looked expensive and exquisite, just like live doll. He thought that Tik's girlfriend is more flawless, but putting her beside Aom, she'll only look having some scabs. Unlike, Aom who's skin was so flawless. He wont be surprise anymore if the milk she uses when he takes a bath.
She also talked as she looked---classy. As if she dont know how to speak their own language. To say that she was a jaw-dropper from all the boys in campus was an understatement. There was even a frat war because of Aom Phiyada. She looked like the reincarnation of Helen of Troy. All men got crush on her and the includes himself.
He even more punctual when he gets into school. Even Tik proclaimed that he got crush on Aom. But because his friend already had the girlfriend, he was the one who pursue and courted her.
It wasn't easy for him to court her. Tik was the one who helped him out and made up a plan to talk to her.
He was filled with hope since Aom was friendly and nice to him. Tik told him to invite the lady to dine out. After too much planning and procrastinating due to nervousness and shyness, he invited her. And she accepted his invitation.
After lunch, he didn't expect that Aom Phiyada is now his official girlfriend.
"Are you going to court me, Chakrit?", she asked while slicing the beef steak.
He didn't answer. He was sweating with nervousness.
"Don't...", Aom said. She took the sliced of steak and eat it.
He thought he got dumped by her. "W-why?", he managed to ask. He thought he was going to have a heart attack.
Aom swallowed. "Because i hate courtships. It's so corny. I'll just have to say yes. So, officially you're my boyfriend now. Congratulations!", she declared.
He thought he died that moment.
But after that, he was the happiest man in the world. He was so proud because of all the men in campus got jealous of him. But some of them dont want to surrender, still courting Aom. Not for how many times he was surrounded by some of them inside and outside of the campus because of his girlfriend.
But those things made her all the more desirable to him. He can't avoid the fact; whether that was before or until now he loved Aom so much. There was not even a moment he couldn't stop thinking of her.
He loved the feel of her soft curls against his fingers. He loved her smile. He loved the rosy color of her cheeks. He loved the feeling of holding and kissing her hands. And he would be given a chance, he'd also like to kiss her dainty feet.
And when he kissed her the first time, his world went upside down. He felt liked he now owns the world. And just like any other men, he wasn't content of kissing Aom only. He wanted to make love to her--so badly, there wasn't a time that he wasn't aching for her...
His niece made him back to reality.
"Uncle, i wanna pee!", the kid said.
"Chakrit, pull it over", his mom said.
"Have you seen that guy, Mary?" Aom asked her baby who was seated on the backseat. The infant cooed. "No, not the groom. I'm talking about that tall and dark guy, the one who snubbed us. The nerve!"
Mary just kept on making baby sounds.
"I know, baby. That Krit guy is so boastful! He doesn't have anything to boast in life except for the fact that I loved him!." She stopped for a while."God forgive me, but I love that -- beast!"
Snapping on her steering wheel to press the horn button as there was a tricycle infront of her. She was following the bridal car, she might get lost them. She dont even know where's the farm of Tik.
She look onto Mary who's at the backseat. She was smiling. "You're laughing at mommy, huh? But that was before. If there's only a time machine, I wanna go back to the past and take back my first kiss to Chakrit! I shouldn't have given him that honor. Golly, he's got a long tongue!"
She could vividly remember that first kiss. She was surprised when she felt the tongue of Chakrit inside of her mouth. Like an alien exploring every corner.
"Yuck!", she said to Mary.
She was also stupid. She had a big crush on Tik. From all men in the campus, all her attention was on Tik, but that man was taken already, he had a girlfriend and no matter how she tried to caught his attention, the guy would just smile at her only. The more he's not interested to her, the more she gains her feelings over him.
When the time he talked to her, discussing about Chakrit who's got big crush on her. She was already planning something. That's why she allowed that guy to be her boyfriend so that she can get more closer to Tik.
She had her plans laid out. Supposedly, there should be a double date with Tik and gradually, she would seduce him.
But she made a mistake by allowing Chakrit to kiss her. When she closed her eyes to feel his kiss, all his feelings over Tik fade away. Her world revolved solely around the guy who was kissing her there's no tomorrow. It felt as if Chakrit was making love to her through that kiss.
It was so intense.
After that, she always wanted to be that guy from then on. She was always happy. She wouldn't care if she'll fail from other subjects during that semester. She dont care, as long as she loved Chakrit, nothing else mattered.
But it was meant to shatter all those memories. She and Chakrit had the plan to watch a movie that time. She was too early to drop by at his dorm, that's why she left him for awhile sitting on the bed while she took a shower.
They were at the movie theater already, but he seemed preoccupied with something. He seemed so far away. Even if they're so close to each other, she felt oddly cold. She couldn't take it anymore, she placed her arm around his shoulders and kissed him on the mouth. At first, he seemed reluctant to respond, but he gave in eventually; and when he did, it was more intense than their first kiss. She let go because it hurt her lips.
Chakrit whispered something. It made her thought at first but eventually she stood up and got out first from the movie theater. The got out of the movie theater and they ended up in a motel.
It was the most fascinating thing that happened in her young life. Aom Phiyada in motel! She couldn't even wait to tell her other hi-so friends. They would be thrilled.
When Chakrit kissed her again the motel, she already forget her friends. There was no place for uncertainty, she surrender herself to him. She was so happy.
But her happiness was short-lived. The following day, she felt the cold treatment from Chakrit. He wasn't even talking to her when they're together. Sometimes she could see that Chakrit was really avoiding her. She couldn't even think of any reason why would Chakrit do this to her.
She dont want to think that the reason why he was doing this to her is because something happened to them already. Chakrit wasn't like that. He loved her.
But he was colder than the north wind. She couldn't help herself anymore. So she talked to Tik. Even Tik has no idea if why his friend change all of a sudden, but he promised her that he would talk to him.
Tik did. When she and Tik talk again, she found out that Chakrit read the entries of her diary about her craziness over Tik, her plan of using Chakrit to get close with Tik was included there. Her plans were written in that diary in detail. She even wrote a probable outcome of it.
She was stunned. She couldn't deny her feelings a long time ago before she fell in love with Chakrit. But because she loved him, she stopped writing into her diary. She couldn't even think of something that would describe her happiness with him, that's why it became useless to write her diary again. It would only be a waste of time--a time that nothing but their future only she cares about.
She asked herself why she didn't burned that diary.
She told the whole truth to Tik and asked for his help to explain with Chakrit. She was crying that time.
But Chakrit didn't even want to talk to her anymore. He wouldn't gave her any reason. He would just refuse to talk to her. Her love turned into grudge. He had no right to hurt her like this. Did he forgot if who she was?
Because of that, there was an affray between the two. She made up some stories and widespread all over the the campus that he's wasn't a good kisser. Everybody believed her. They also believe that she was the one who broke up with Chakrit.
Who wouldn't? She was the girl of all the boys wanted. She wasn't the one who got left. She's the one who left. Chakrit Yamnam had insulted her. She had never forgiven him and he had never forgiven her, too, she guessed.
"So what?", she told Mary. "He's not the one I came for." When she look onto Mary once again, she's already asleep.

Chapter 3 Preview
"And you stupidly believe that?", that was Chakrit's reaction as he was the only one who didn't gave her peck kiss on the cheek. He just nod at her, acknowledging her presence.
"Why I became stupid? Is it bad that I only wanted Mary to have a good nutrition? And its better if I'll have her breastfeed, because I want us to have this bond because I want her to know me as her mother." She made a fowl gesture on him.
"Okay, stop that already", Aon said. "We're now in the millennium. There should be reconciliation by now".
"Time to heal!", Nott continued. "We should start heal all the wounds created by the past before it turns into gangrene. That would be so dangerous!"
"He started it!", pointing on Chakrit.
He eyed on her. "Why? Did I argue with you? You're the only one who reacted to so much."
