I beg to differ. Channel 3 does have a lot of newer actors but I don't find any of them experienced or charming enough to be suitable for a Khun Chai role. Even until this day, I'm not convinced or wowed by any of the performances in the SJ series. Besides, it's been a while since we've seen Ken in a really good period lakorn and considering that the younger generation has been taking over lately, I wouldn't mind Ken in this one. For younger actresses, I believe whether its looks, experience or talent, Matt and Yaya would be most suitable with Ken. Taew or Margie would be great too.

I tried watching a lakorn by newbies, Samee.   The original version was so good.
All I found is that anything about the new version is good except the leading actor & actress. >.<
I really don't like watching newbies.    I'll give them 5 years and will see them again.
Sorry to fans though.

So please give chance to lakorn fans like me who
enjoys watching lakorns ONLY when leads are skillful.

P.S.  I often see that whenever there's news about casting Ken T in any lakorns.   Newbie fans
will post that he should step aside (although their newbie actors don't suit the roles at all).

Oh please... there are million of lakorns out there that you can have your newbies in
and your newbies still have yearssss to go.

I'm similar to you. That's why I get excited when I actually find something to watch because it's rare for me to find a lakorn that meets my criteria: skilled and attractive actors + explosive plot. Honestly, I can't let go of my favorite veteran actors. Haha. The newbies are taking over, and it's gonna take a while for me to adjust. I don't find them as good as when the veterans first started out as newbies. I'm thinking it's because a majority of them are given mature roles at such a young age so they don't know how to portray them. Some of them start out around 16 or so. Like Yam Tisha, Pat, and Preem. Like you, I give them a chance a couple years later after their debut. But sometimes, if they catch my eye, I give them a chance early and become impressed so you never know! :)

I think there are many factors as to why the newbies these days aren't as skillful or comparable to the veteran actors when they first started. For one, the viewer's expectations over the years have changed. Many place greater importance on physical appearance so a lot of agencies think they can get away with promoting anyone they find attractive. If we look back then, how many actors were considered as superstars? Being given such a high title was really rare and required many qualifications unlike today where anyone can be a superstar, a nang aek, or be called a koo kwan. Our standards have degraded. Another point is that all these very young newbies don't acquire sufficient experience or workshop to tackle the roles that they're given. Besides, majority of new actors are half caste so just their vocals and communication skills alone are very weak and that's a major issue in lakorns today.

Ken T is nice but I think he needs to make a way for younger actors. Channel 3 have ton of hot younger actors could play Khun chai role well. And plus I haven't find any hot younger rising actresses that would go well with him. Last lakorn with Namtarn it was a most mismatched couple in my view.

Really? I thought Ken and Namtarn looked hot together despite the huge age gap. They looked physically compatible especially with Ken's physique. He matches tall ladies and I thought Namtarn was his perfect match.

I also thought Ken and Namtarn were compatible together. When I watched the two on screen, I forgot about their age gap.

Yup, same here. Ken still looks young, so he actually looked great with Namtarn.

Namtarn is getting a lot of BroadcastThai lakorn. I think her acting is okay for a newbie. She should take advance of her opportunity for having lakorns within BroadcastThai.

I think Namtarn is stiff, but bearable stiff. I'd have to see how much she has improved in DKD2. I really like Pope now due to STT so I'm ok with him. Don't really favor newbies getting all these noteworthy roles though. I feel like they should even it out and divide the work between veterans and newbies.

Ooh, they're remaking this, too? I loved, loved, loved the old version. I have never watched Pope but he seems likeable, and I like Namtarn, so I'm fine with the cast.

Was the older sister older than the youngest Khun Chai? I always had the impression she was at least his age or a year younger even though she was the older sister.

It's comfirmed ken did not take this lakorn, he says he's accepting one drama at a time.

I love Namtarn but it's kinda freaky pairing her up with super old guys. Ken P is the only one around her age o_O
They're 10 years apart. That's ok because she's legal and not under age like Yam Tisha in Fai Ruk Plerng Kaen. Yam is 16 in there while Smart is 36. Yikes!
