What is Pee Fah?

I want to know what is "Pee Fah"? Is it some kind of ghost cuz I watched the preview of Pob Pee Fah and I just want to know what it is?

So what does the word "Pee Fah" literally mean?

I asked my mom what Pee Fah was, but i don't think she was interested in telling me much. She said people usually danced to ask for it's blessings or something like that. And on this message board somebody said Pee Fah is similar to the western image of a witch, in which she cures people during the day, but eats people at night (this person probably got this theory out of the lakorn). I also searched for it again on google, and this article wouldn't let me enter to read it, but in the description it mentioned that, Pee Fah is a sort of "sky spirit" and women would dance.

pretty interesting. I guess the mongsa dances and the spirit (pee fah) enters her body. if men do it, they will impersonate a lady. then she's able to heal somebody.

it was a lakorn that came out a decade ago. it was a great one too. i think pinky played noon's lil sis in that one. it's also based on an actual ritual.
