Chapter 9:
Grand, alone in the cold, dark room, wondered if Sila have found Cheewin and Kaew yet.
She cried and said, “I wish there were peace. I wish all creatures would get along. Why?”
The Chief opened the door softly to take a peek at Grand.
“Why can’t others accept our love for who we are?” yelled Grand.
The Chief looked at Grand quietly, closed the door, and walked away, crying.
He thought of his past love, which was a human.
“I can’t be this cruel,” said the Chief, “I loved a human once and killed her. Why must this be?”
The Chief turned his head back toward the room. He fell on his knees and sat there, crying quietly to himself, while Grand cried too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, Sila woke up first. He was ready to get himself ready to help Grand fast.
He walked around the forest looking for food. When he finished looking for berries, he sat by a mountain cliff.
He sat there wondering if Grand was thinking about him too. He misses Grand a lot.
Tears swelled up in Sila’s eyes. Sila tried to wipe them away, but it just kept coming down like a river that never stops flowing.
“Grand, where are you now?” asked Sila, “How have you been? Have they been treating you good?”
Sila stood up and yelled her name as loud as he can.
“Grand,” hollered Sila.
He can hear his echo through the mountains. He felt the crisp air upon his face.
Sila kept on yelling Grand’s name until he can’t yell anymore.
That woke up Cheewin and Kaew.
“I’m sorry,” said Sila, as Cheewin and Kaew approached him.
“It’s alright,” said Kaew.
“Here, I found some berries,” said Sila.
“Thanks,” said Cheewin as he took the berries.
“Uh oh,” said Kaew, “I think I’m starting to feel a little bit dizzy.”
“Oh, here,” said Cheewin, getting out a bowl filled with blood.
“What?” said Kaew.
“Last night I cut myself because I knew you’re going to be hungry,” said Cheewin.
“Thanks,” replied Kaew.
After seeing that, Sila remembered when he fed Grand his blood.
It was a romantic moment, but now that Grand is gone, he became lonely.
All he can do is compare them to Cheewin and Kaew, and think back of their times.
“Let’s go,” said Sila when Cheewin and Kaew finished their meal.
Cheewin and Kaew nodded.
“Since Grand is yours,” said Kaew, “You’ll be the leader. Cheewin and I will follow what you say.”
“Thanks,” said Sila.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day and night, Sila, Kaew, and Cheewin traveled, but Sila never gave up, even though he was really tired.
Day and night, Grand stayed in her little, empty room, crying and thinking about Sila, wondering when they’ll come rescue her.
As the days go by, Sila and Grand were tortured with misery, feeling empty and alone inside, but they knew that they’ll still be with each other in their hearts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We’re here,” said Kaew.
Sila, tired and restless answered, “Really?”
“Sila, you look unconscious. Maybe you should rest?” said Cheewin.
“Let’s go,” said Sila.
“No,” said Kaew, “You want to help my sister right? You should get some rest. Being like that isn’t going to help you get my sister back. My Chief won’t do anything bad to her.”
Sila thought for a while. He knows he loves Grand.
“I guess I’m going to have to do what Kaew said,” said Sila.
“Let’s go find a place to hide first,” said Cheewin.
Kaew and Sila nodded and walked away from the vampire’s place.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Grand, would you like to say anything before we find your sister, Kaew?” asked the Chief.
“Go away,” said Grand.
The Chief tried to hold back his tears. He thought to himself, “I have to be strong. No more love with humans.”
“Alright then,” said the Chief, “Guards, lock her up good because we’re going to find Kaew.”
The Chief walked away and out their place to go and find Kaew.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While Sila, Cheewin, and Kaew hid behind the tree, they heard flying.
Sila and Cheewin looked up. There were about ten vampires flying over head.
“Quiet,” said Kaew, “They’re just going out to find me.”
“Really?” asked Cheewin.
“Yes,” said Kaew, “The Chief is with them. Let’s go when they’re fully gone.”
They stayed until the vampires were out of sight.
“Let’s go,” said Kaew, “I’ll go get Grand. You two go and kill the guards. I won’t kill my people.”
Three of them ran toward the place. When the vampires saw them, they flew towards them.
Kaew fled off to the room where she can smell Grand.
As Kaew watch Sila and Cheewin fight with the vampires, she just went off because they were doing just great.
Kaew ran and bumped into the guards that we’re guarding Grand’s place.
“Uh oh,” said Kaew, “This is not going to be good.”
Kaew used her powers to put them off to sleep.
“Finally,” said Kaew.
She searched through the guards’ pockets to find the keys.
“Here it is,” she whispered.
Kaew opened the lock and saw Grand at the corner, crying.
“Grand,” Kaew raced toward Grand, “Are you alright?”
“Kaew?” Grand said sounding shaky.
“Let’s go,” said Kaew.
“But, what have we done?” whispered Grand.
“Done what?” asked Kaew, “We did the right thing.”
“We broke our promise to our people. We didn’t accomplished our revenge. We’re in love with humans. Now we can’t stop our self. There’s no way turning back,” cried Grand.
Kaew thought about what both of them has done. Both sisters sat there thinking about the past. About how their parents died, and about their love to the humans.
The vampires sisters cried until tears can come out no more.
Kaew wiped her tears away and said, “Let’s go before they capture us. We can’t let Sila and Cheewin hurt.”
Grand, also missing Sila agreed.
Even though both sisters hurt on the inside, they can’t let their loved ones hurt.
“I’ll protect you,” Kaew thought about what Cheewin said to her by the pond.
“I’ll protect you too from now on,” whispered Kaew.
Grand was walking really fast, wanting to see Sila so badly.
“I’m coming, Sila. We’ll get to meet soon,” thought Grand.
When Grand and Kaew reached the outside, they saw Sila and Cheewin fighting against the vampires.
“Sila, be careful,” yelled Grand.
Sila looked at Grand. He smiled, “Grand, it’s really you.”
Because of that, it took Sila’s attention away from his fighting.
The vampires stabbed Sila’s stomach right then.
“Sila,” yelled Grand, “No!”
Sila fell to the ground with lots of blood coming out.
“Grand, run away. Don’t worry about me,” said Sila.
“No,” cried Grand, “I’m not leaving you alone again.”
Sila smiled as he was lying on the ground.
The vampire was about to suck Sila’s blood, but then Grand punched him on the back.
“You have to stop yourself, Grand,” yelled the vampire.
“No. No one can destroy my love,” yelled Grand.
She took Sila in her arms and flew away.
Kaew ran towards Cheewin and said, “Let’s go.”
As Kaew was about to hold Cheewin and fly, the vampires reached for Cheewin’s leg and caught it.
They kept on pulling on and on.
Blood started flowing from Cheewin’s leg.
Cheewin groaned, “Kaew, go on. I’ll come back if I can.”
“No. I’m not leaving you this time,” said Kaew.
Kaew kicked the vampire’s nose and flew off in Grand’s direction.
The vampires followed them.
“What should we do?” yelled Kaew.
Grand, tired while having to hold on Sila, said, “I don’t know. We have to resist ourselves. We can do anything, but I won’t let Sila die.”
Grand and Kaew were really tired.
As the vampires chase them, both got even more exhausted holding onto their beloved.
“Don’t worry,” whispered Grand, “You won’t die. I’ll protect you like how you protected me. I love you.”
Tears filled up Grand’s eyes as she tries to continue flying.
Chapter 10:
“Grand, I can’t take it anymore,” yelled Kaew.
“Are they following us?” Grand yelled back.
“I don’t see them anymore,” hollered Kaew.
“Follow me,” said Grand.
Kaew nodded.
Grand flew down to the forest and landed on her feet.
“Where are we going?” asked Kaew.
“Just wait and you’ll see,” replied Grand, “From here on, we have to walk.”
“Okay,” said Kaew.
Cheewin, still hurt, said, “Just leave me, Kaew. It’s too hard for you guys.”
“No,” yelled Kaew, “You promise to protect me, right? If so, you have to be right by me all the time. Don’t you remember?”
Cheewin turned his head around, not wanting Kaew to know that he’s in pain.
Grand looked at Sila and cried. Sila was still unconscious. She can’t express how she feels about Sila now.
“Let’s go,” said Grand, “before our people catches up.”
Kaew nodded, “Cheewin, you have to go. If you don’t, I’m going to hurt forever.”
Cheewin looked at Kaew and Grand. Since Sila is unconscious, he’s going to have to watch over Grand and Kaew or else they’re going to be taken away.
“I’ll come,” said Cheewin.
Kaew had a worry expression.
“I’ll carry you,” she said.
Cheewin nodded as both followed Grand through the dark woods.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Why?” yelled the Master.
“Master, just rest, please,” said one of the servants.
“We’ve been walking for weeks and haven’t found a trace of Sila and Cheewin,” said the Master.
“I guarantee we’ll find them soon, Master,” said the servant.
“It was all my fault,” cried the Master, “I’ve taught those boys bad. Now look what I’ve done.”
“Don’t worry, Master,” said the servant.
“I have to. They’re going to die with those despicable vampires,” said the Master.
“Look!” yelled one of the guards.
“Is it a fireplace, Master?” asked the servant.
“Is it?” said the Master, quietly.
“Yes,” said the guards, “Sila and Cheewin must have been here. I know they’re somewhere here. Let’s go, sir.”
“Oh thank god,” said the Master, “Now I have more faith in me.”
“Feel better now, Master?” said the servant, “I told you they’re going to be alright.”
“Yes,” replied the Master, “It won’t be too soon either.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grand came to a huge, beautiful cave.
“What is this place?” asked Kaew.
Grand didn’t reply. She took out a ring from her pocket, which was glowing.
She laid Sila down on the grass while she was using her powers to open the door to the cave.
Grand held up the ring which shoots power through the door.
There were loud noises like a bomb setting off in the distance.
Finally, the door opened. The cave looked more like a tunnel way.
“Let’s go,” said Grand.
Kaew nodded, as Grand walked over to Sila and picked him up.
They’ve been walking for a few minutes when they saw light.
“Light,” said Kaew.
“I know,” replied Grand.
They kept on walking until they walked right out of the tunnel into a much more beautiful place, with flowers and bright, blue skies.
“I recognize this place,” said Kaew.
“I know you do,” said Grand, “This was the place our parents take us to play. Mother told me how to get here. No one knows about this place. It was our heritage’s secret.”
“There’s a small cottage over there,” said Kaew, “Let’s take care of the humans there.”
Grand nodded.
Both sisters walked into the cottage. It was still clean and fresh with no cobwebs.
“Kaew, you put Cheewin in that room, and I’ll put Sila in the other room,” said Grand.
“I agree,” said Kaew.
Both laid the brothers down.
Grand took out the knife that was still in Sila’s stomach.
“It’s been a long time,” cried Grand, “Hope you still survive.”
Grand took out a piece of cloth and went outside to the river.
She looked around, remembering all of her old memories with her parents around this place.
Grand cried while dipping the cloth into the water.
“There’s nothing in this world but pain,” thought Grand, “Didn’t my wish come true. When will the time come?”
Then she remembered about Sila, “Forgot. I got to get back.”
She walked back to the cottage and sat beside Sila.
“Sila, I have been using you ever since I’ve met you,” said Grand, “I will repay you as you did to me.”
Grand wiped Sila’s face and body with the wet cloth. The blood has dried out.
“There’s only one thing to make you better,” said Grand, “I’m going to have to do it so you can get better.”
She will have to suck Sila’s blood, so the flesh that has been destroy, can come back together to make him better.
Kaew walked in, “I know what you have to do. If you really love him, you have to do anything for him to help him get better.”
“I can’t suck too many blood, or he’ll become a vampire, too,” said Grand.
“Do it carefully. Do it from all of your skills and things you have learned in the past with our Chief,” said Kaew.
Grand nodded, “Thanks. I think I know what to do.”
“I don’t want to torture Cheewin anymore,” said Kaew, “I’m going to go back alright? Good Luck.”
Kaew walked back out.
Grand closed her eyes, breathed in deeply, and breathe back out slowly.
She pierced her sharp teeth into Sila’s stomach, sucking out as least blood as she can.
Grand somehow can’t stop herself. Somehow, she changed into a loving, human blood sucker.
“No,” thought Grand, “I have to resist myself.”
She thought of love, the love she gave to Sila.
Love is a powerful thing.
That stopped Grand from going any deeper.
Her teeth came back out as she gasped, trying to get some air.
She looked at his stomach. It’s starting to improve.
Grand smiled, “Yes, I did it! Sila, don’t worry. You’ll be back. I’m not going to leave you again. Nor will you leave me.”
Grand thought, “It’s going to be about a week for him to wake up. I’m going to take extra good care of you Sila. I promise.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaew walked back to where she left Cheewin.
“Are you okay?” asked Kaew.
“Yea, I’m fine. It’s just my leg,” replied Cheewin.
Cheewin heard something, “What’s that?”
“It’s my sister sucking blood out of Sila,” said Kaew, “And before you say anything, she did that because Sila needs that to help his stomach.”
Cheewin nodded.
“Let me see your leg,” said Kaew, “You can rest while I do that.”
“No,” said Cheewin, “I want to see you do that.”
Kaew smiled as she carefully touches Cheewin’s leg.
“Ouch,” squealed Cheewin.
“I’m so sorry,” said Kaew.
“With you here,” said Cheewin, “It’s doesn’t hurt as much as losing you.”
“They cut your leg open,” said Kaew.
Cheewin moaned.
Kaew wiped the blood away and wrapped it with a cloth.
Cheewin gazed at Kaew while she was wrapping his leg.
“Why are you looking at me?” blushed Kaew.
Cheewin laughed, “Because you are my love. You are sweet and I love you.”
“Don’t you hate me?” asked Kaew.
“Who would hate a girl like you?” said Cheewin.
He put his hands on Kaew’s face.
“I’ll love you for eternity,” said Cheewin.
“Me, too,” replied Kaew.

Chapter 11:
The next day, Grand woke up extra early to clean up Sila. Kaew woke up to take care of Cheewin.
Because in the past, the two brothers took care of them. Now it’s their turn.
“Sila, when will you wake up? I miss you already. Even when you’re right by my side,” cried Grand.
Kaew and Cheewin felt sorry for Grand. Days passed by and Cheewin is already healed.
Sila, still in pain, hadn’t woken up yet. Day by Day Grand starts to worry.
“Will I ever get to see your smiling face again?” said Grand.
Grand’s face buried into Kaew’s arm as Kaew held her.
“Don’t worry, sis. I know he will. If he really loves you, then he will,” said Kaew.
“I’m sorry that I can’t help my own brother,” said Cheewin, “It’s all my fault.”
“No,” yelled Grand, “It was all me. I won’t let anyone take my troubles again.”
The three of them cried softly throughout the whole day.
Kaew and Cheewin went outside for some fresh air while Grand stayed in the cottage the whole day, just watching Sila, hoping he would wake up again.
A week as passed and Sila still hadn’t woke up.
Grand held Sila’s hand and whispered, “I love you.”
Grand’s tears fell upon Sila’s face. She cried really hard as she laid her head on Sila’s chest.
Grand cried herself to sleep. There she slept on Sila’s chest.
When the clock striked midnight, Sila’s eyes slowly opened. Everything seemed blurry to him.
“Grand,” he whispered, “Where are you?”
Grand heard noises. She woke up and went to turn on the lights. She rubbed her eyes and looked at Sila.
As soon as she saw Sila’s eyes open, she ran toward him and hugged him.
“Sila,” said Grand, “you woke up. I missed you so much. Are you okay?”
“Grand,” said Sila softly.
“Are you okay?” asked Grand again.
“Yes,” replied Sila, “I just feel a bit queasy.”
“Then go back to sleep and get some rest,” said Grand happily.
Sila nodded and lay back down.
Grand helped Sila get tucked in. She watched as Sila closed his eyes and drift off to sleep.
Grand was so happy to know that he’s alright.
“I’ll never leave your side again,” whispered Grand.
Sila wasn’t asleep yet. When she heard what Grand said, he smiled and went back to sleep.
Grand slept by his side the whole night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaew woke up the next day before Grand and Cheewin.
She decided to look for food for Cheewin and Sila, “If Sila ever wakes up,” thought Kaew.
Kaew walked to the pond and heard loud noises, powerful ones.
She sneaked behind a tree and looked toward the direction of the pond.
There she saw someone, a gentleman.
“Who is it?” she thought.
That man had some of the powers that vampires do.
“Is he human?” Kaew thought again, “Or vampires?”
Kaew looked as the man turned his head around Kaew’s direction.
“Kaew,” he yelled, “I see you.”
The voice sounded familiar. “Sila?” said Kaew.
Kaew turned around and there stood Sila up close to her.
“Woah,” said Kaew.
Sila laughed, “I was about to catch some fish for all of us.”
“But…how did you do that?” asked Kaew.
“Do what?”
“Powers,” said Kaew.
“What? What do you mean, powers?” asked Sila, confused.
“You have the same little ability that vampires have. Like little powers, but can be really strong,” said Kaew.
“What?” asked Sila.
“Put your arms around me. Like hug me,” said Kaew.
“Why?” asked Sila again.
“I’m testing you, hurry,” said Kaew.
“I don’t know, but okay,” said Sila as he put his arms around Kaew.
At that moment, Cheewin walked out of the cottage and saw what Sila and Kaew were doing.
Cheewin’s eyes widened and his mouth opened.
“Ouch,” squeaked Kaew.
“What?” laughed Sila, “That was a soft hug.”
“Then that means…” said Kaew.
“What?” asked Sila, looking serious now.
“Oh no,” said Kaew, “I got to tell Grand.”
As Kaew turned around, she saw Cheewin. His eyes were full of tears.
“Oh no,” Kaew said again, “He must have seen.”
“No,” yelled Sila, “It’s not what you think.”
Cheewin ran away.
“No,” yelled Kaew, “Cheewin, wait. It’s not like what you’ve seen.”
Kaew cried as she followed Cheewin. She tripped and fell as her ankle twisted.
Cheewin looked back and was about to come, but then he decided not to and left.
He ran to the cave and out of their place and back into the deep forest, where the vampires were looking for them.
“No,” yelled Kaew, as she fainted onto the ground.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sila felt ashamed of what he did.
“It wasn’t meant to be that way,” said Sila.
He went back to the pond to pick up his fishes and walked back to the cottage.
Grand was still asleep. When Sila walked in, she woke up.
“Sila,” said Grand, “I’m so glad you’re alright.”
“Yea,” said Sila as he walked toward Grand to hug her.
“Ouch,” said Grand.
“But…” said Sila.
“What?” asked Grand.
“Why?” asked Sila, “Kaew said there was something wrong with me. She said it was a big problem and she needs to tell you. Can you tell what’s wrong with me?”
“Wait,” said Grand, as she walked around Sila, “When you hugged me, it felt like stones were crushing against me. Was it a soft hug, or a hard one?”
“A soft one,” said Sila, “Why?”
“No, this can’t be,” said Grand.
“What?” asked Sila, “What’s happening to me?”
“Our Chief once said to me and Kaew that…if you suck someone’s blood, human blood, for its need to survive…then that person will have some vampire powers that will help that person. It’s some abilities of our people,” said Grand.
“So…does that mean I’m a vampire?” asked Sila.
“No,” replied Grand, “You just have some powers that can help you.”
“Really?” said Sila, “Why is it a big problem anyways?”
“Because you have to resist your temper…and you can be hard sometimes,” said Grand, “And remember to hold me softly next time.
Both laughed and Sila said, “I’ll remember.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hours has passed as Cheewin ran as fast as he can out into the forest.
He stopped in the middle of the forest and said, “Why? Why is my brother and girlfriend doing this?”
His head was full of questions, “Are they dating? Do they like each other now? What’s going to happen next?”
“I’m never going to go back,” said Cheewin as he continued walking, “My brother is a trader.”
He walked for minutes until a bunch of vampires flew in front of him.
“Oh no,” he thought, “What am I going to do?”
He walked back and bumped into another vampire.
Cheewin was trapped and surrounded by vampires.
“Get him,” yelled the Chief.
The vampires grabbed him from each end and took him with them.
“He’ll be a good bait to bring back the other three,” said the Chief, “Keep him well because he’ll be really useful.”
“You’ll never catch them with me!” yelled Cheewin.
“Be quiet,” said the Chief, “Take him away.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Night have came and there were no signs of Kaew.
“Where is she?” asked Grand, “Where is Kaew and Cheewin?”
“Oh yea, I forgot to say,” said Sila, “Kaew was testing me. She told me to hug her and stuff. I guess Cheewin came out and saw. He misunderstood and Kaew ran after her. There must be something wrong. They haven’t came back yet.”
“Really?” said Grand.
Sila nodded.
“Let’s go find them. There might be some problems,” said Grand.
Both of them walked out the door, yelling for Kaew and Cheewin’s names.

Chapter 12:
“Kaew,” yelled Grand, “Where are you?”
“Kaew,” Sila repeated after Grand, “Where are you?”
Sila followed after Grand as she ran. “Kaew,” yelled Grand.
“Calm down,” said Sila, “Don’t worry too much or you’ll going to be sick.”
“No,” said Grand, “I have to find her.”
Grand walked and tripped.
“Grand,” yelled Sila, “Are you alright?”
Sila held Grand in his arms and said, “Let’s go back. Kaew knows this place enough to find her way back.”
“Let me go,” said Grand, trying to get off, “I have to find Kaew and Cheewin. They might be in trouble. What if the vampires came? What if they know we’re here?”
“No,” said Sila, “That’s not possible.”
Grand ran away from Sila and he ran after her.
“Grand, come back,” yelled Sila.
A while later, Grand tripped and flipped over the hill they were on. She fell down on her back.
“Grand,” screamed Sila as loud as he can.
He ran as fast as he can to Grand.
He picked up Grand, “Are you alright?”
“Yes,” groaned Grand, “My body is really strong.”
Sila smiled and hugged her, “Glad you’re all right.”
“Careful,” said Grand.
She thought for a while and said, “What did I trip on?”
“What do you mean?” asked Sila, confused.
“It was something big. I tripped on something big,” said Grand.
“Let’s go check it out,” replied Sila.
Grand nodded as Sila helped her get up. Both walked toward what Grand tripped on.
When they got closer, they realized it was a body laying there.
Grand gasped and Sila’s eyes were wide.
“Who is it?” whispered Grand.
“I don’t know,” said Sila, “Let’s see.”
Sila bent down and turned the body towards them.
“Kaew,” yelled Grand as she ran towards her and picked her up, “Are you alright? Kaew, wake up.”
Grand shook Kaew really hard, “Do you hear me? Wake up!”
“Hurry,” said Sila, “Let’s take her back and see what the problem is.”
Grand nodded, “You carry her Sila. Do it for me.”
Sila nodded as he picked up Kaew and carried her.
When they got to the cottage, they laid her down. Grand picked up a cloth to wipe Kaew’s face.
“Where’s Cheewin?” asked Grand.
“I don’t know,” said Sila, “Let’s ask Kaew when she wakes up.”
“Okay,” said Grand, “But I wonder why she fell by the hill. What really happened?”
“I don’t know,” said Sila, “but let’s go to sleep first. Tomorrow, we’ll find out the truth.”
Grand nodded and went to sleep. Sila gazed at Grand and said, “I’m so happy I have you.”
Then he went to sleep beside Grand, too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, Grand woke up to a loud moan. She rubbed her eyes while Sila rose up behind her.
“What’s that noise?” asked Sila.
Grand looked at Kaew, “It’s Kaew. What’s wrong?”
Grand shook Kaew by the shoulders, “Kaew, are you okay? Wake up.”
“Don’t shake her too much or else you’re going to hurt her,” said Sila.
Kaew opened her eyes slowly and looked around. Everything seemed blurry to her. “Where am I?” she asked.
“I’m so glad you’re okay,” said Grand, “And we’re at the cottage remember?”
Kaew smiled and said, “Well, okay.”
“We need to ask you some questions,” said Sila.
“What do you mean?” asked Kaew.
“Where’s Cheewin, and how did you fell down the hill?” asked Grand.
“Who’s Cheewin?” asked Kaew, confused.
Grand and Sila looked at each other.
“What do you mean you don’t know Cheewin?” asked Sila, “Do you even know who we are?”
“Yes,” said Kaew, “Grand is my sister, and you are my sister’s boyfriend. That’s all I know. Why?”
“So, you don’t remember my brother?” asked Sila.
“Who’s your brother? Is it that Cheewin dude you guys we’re talking about?” said Kaew.
Tears rolled down Grand’s eyes. “I can’t believe she doesn’t remember her love,” thought Grand.
“Sila, can we go outside and talk for a while,” said Grand.
Sila nodded and both of them went outside.
“Why?” asked Grand, “What happen to her?”
“I don’t know,” said Sila, “I guess she was too depressed on that day about Cheewin, and she fell down the hill. And because he was too depressed about Cheewin, I guess she forgot him.”
“Yes,” said Grand, “I think that’s why, because Cheewin saw you two on that day, and he probably ran away while Kaew tries to stop him.”
Sila nodded.
“So it means that we can still get Kaew’s memory back about Cheewin,” said Grand.
Sila nodded again and said, “But…where is Cheewin?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Let me go,” yelled Cheewin as they place him in their dungeon.
“Never,” yelled the Chief back, “Tie him to the wall and let him hang there.”
“You’ll never get them,” yelled Cheewin, “NEVER!”
“How can you be so sure?” asked the Chief, “Just watch and you’ll see.”
One of the guards gave the Chief a black bird. The Chief took out a letter and stick it in by the bird’s toes.
“Go and find Grand, and give them this letter,” said the Chief as he laughed his wicked laugh.
“You are despicable,” yelled Cheewin, “You’re going to hurt Grand and Kaew which are your people.”
“I’m not going to hurt them,” said the Chief.
“I know,” said Cheewin, “But you know what, you’re torturing their hearts.”
The Chief looked at Cheewin for a long time and said, “Enough.” He ran out the door.
Cheewin thought, “That’s a bit awkward.”
But Cheewin doesn’t know that the Chief once had a love with the humans.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I’m hungry,” said Kaew.
“I’ll go find you some food,” said Grand, “Wait in here okay?”
Kaew nodded.
“I’ll go with you,” said Sila. Grand smiled.
“Wait,” said Sila, “Is she hungry for food, or for blood?”
“I don’t know,” said Grand, “Find both.”
Grand went to pick up some berries, while Sila went to get the fishes.
When both came back to the cottage, both laid the food down on the table.
Somehow Kaew grabbed the fishes and started eating them raw, quickly.
After she finished, she realized what she has done. Kaew looked up at Grand and said, “I’m sorry. What’s happening to me?”
Grand looked confused, “You’re a vampire.”
Kaew stared at her for a long time, “What?”
“You’re a vampire,” Grand repeated.
Kaew ran outside and yelled. As she yelled, her power became so strong that it went all crazy around the forest. Trees were destroy.
“Stop,” yelled Grand, “It isn’t any big deal okay. I am one too.”
“Really?” asked Kaew.
“Yes,” said Grand.
“Prove it,” said Kaew.
Grand used her powers against the lake. The waters smashed out.
“You are a vampire,” said Kaew, “How about Cheewin?”
“He’s not,” said Grand, “And you Kaew, don’t dare bite him or anything or I won’t consider you as my sister anymore.”
“Alright, I won’t” laughed Kaew.
Sila was by the door. Then he walked toward Grand.
Sila stood next to Grand and as he was about to say something, a black bird hovered overhead.
“What is that?” asked Kaew.
The black bird landed on Grand’s shoulder. Grand took the black bird off her should and held it. She realized it was a letter.
“It’s a letter,” said Grand, “I think it’s from our people.”
Sila and Kaew ran toward her.
Grand took out the letter and the black bird flew back. Grand opened the letter and read it out loud. It says:
We have captured Cheewin. If you want him back, come
here in 3 days or he’ll be our feast.
-Chief
“What do you mean by ‘our people’?” asked Kaew.
Grand and Sila looked at each other.
“Let’s go inside,” said Grand, “I’ll explain it all to you.”
The three of them walked inside quietly, wondering what’s going to happen next.
