Hello there... Does anyone know any history on the hmong people. Like why they dont have a country, a ruler/king and why are they alwaise on the hide-out. I went to this "thing" with the elders and found a really interesting story i feel that sounds believable. Thou also sounds like the hmong people were pretty selfish and greedy. I dont know, but that is how i felt. Anywaise here is the story i was told.
A long time ago there was 4 powerful rulers... One Chinese, one Thai, one Hmong and one Khmer. Out of the 4 the Hmong was the most powerful and very skillful. The other three was really jealous of the hmong and wanted him dead. No matter how many times they tried to kill the hmong he came back to life. The hmong people never gave out the secret of how to kill their ruler becuase he loved them and they loved him. One day one of the three rulers came up to a hmong person and said that if he told them where his weak spot was and help kill him they would raise him up as the new HMONG ruler. So one night the hmong guy sneaked into the house and found the powerful ruler and his son talking... He found out that his weak spot was on the right or left of his chest (IMA NOT SURE WHICH SIDE) Anywaise the hmong person went back and reported it to the rulers. One evening they came into his house and attacked the Hmong ruler by tying him up. A rope around his neck, one and each arm and each leg. They stabbed him on his weak spot then cut him up into pieces and the hmong person then said that they needed to bury him so many feet apart so they cant come back and join together. So his parts were buried in 5 different directions. Now a days it was said that there is a cave/hill that moves. Some hmong people can enter and some cant. Those who belong to the hmong guy that betrayed his ruler would enter and feel like they would be dying and etc. It was said that maybe his head and his horse was buried in that hill/cave. People would say that over the years this hill has been moving. People who passby it would be going around it. Once the path was clear and people walked thru with no problem but now the path is cover by this hill and etc... Walking around the hill and continue the other side of the path. The believer believe that their king/ruler's body parts are trying to coming back together and rejoin. The are not sure if that hill/cave is really the head and horse or another body part but more and more it moves. They dont know where the other remaining parts are located but they all believe that one day their hmong ruler would come back to life and save those who loved him and punish those who betrayed him.
If you ever been to a hmong funeral when a person dies, before they bury them they would say some hmong stuff then cut a hole on the left or right side of the clothing that person is wearing which represents the hole was was cut into our hmong ruler.
(THIS I HAVE SEEN FOR IT WAS DONE TO MY GRANDMOTHER) Anywaise i feel that this story out of all the ones i heard seems like a reasonable reason to why the hmong people are so miserable. No country, no ruler, and alwaise on the hide-out.
This is the best hmong translation i can do. Ima not all that good at translating... kekeke... So anyone know any cause i really want to know... Please share...
