does anyone have sound isolating or noise cancelling earphones? if so, which brand do you have, and does it work well? i often go to the gym, and i love listening to my iphone or ipod there, but the problem is that, with all the machines running and all the people, the background noise can be frustratingly high. therefore, it's difficult for me to listen to my music in the gym, since i can't even hear it unless i turn it up to the maximum volume -- which i really don't want to do, as it would do major damage to my ears. any brand suggestions for such earphones?
I own a pair of Creative "in ear" headphones (EP-630 model). It works great with my mp3 player. I always use it when I'm on train to go to school. My sound volume has decreased from 13 to 7 (out of 25), which is not bad, and I can still listen to music as if I was in a concert. And I also like the fact that you can listen to the music without disturbing your neighborhood. And of course, you save your ears and your battery

. I bought it around $35 (regards to the exchange rate) 2 years ago.
If you want to spend more, I'd recommend you to see brands like Sennheiser, Bose, and the top of the top (in my opinion) : Shure.
Edit :
Oh yes, I forgot to add some informations : We all have unique ear-shape. Don't worry about it, you usually have different plastic sizes, from small to large. Of course, like for shoes, you have to try it few days before being used to it and enjoy the sound.
You'll also find it funny for the first time, because the earphones are plugged into your ears, and you can hear yourself breathing and hear your footsteps when you're walking. Nothing really disturbing though.
The most disturbing part is when you are outside for example. Be careful when you cross the road and of course, be ready to "ignore" people because you won't hear them around you.
