That's weird. When I double-click, automatically, the file appears on the bottom. The problem with files shared on Limewire : sources. No sources = no download. I don't know if it's related but try to check if you are blocked by a firewall. You can check it by looking on the bottom (left side). If there is no firewall, you see the world logo, or else, you see a red wall.

P.S : I don't have the PRO version, but I think the features are more or less the same.

Do you have a router?

I can almost guarantee that you don't have the necessary ports forwarded. In that case you connectability to other people is extremely low so it would be really hard for you to dl from anything p2p such as limewire, bittorrent, etc etc.

It may work once in a while because you are not totally blocked. For example if you are connecting to 40 people.. you can still download as you will probably be able to connect to 2 or 3 people. Now if your ports are forwarded then you can connect to maybe 30 people. In that sense your download speed increases and also if you try to dl something which only 1 or 2 people are seeding then it would be extremely hard for you to get the file.

Just think about it. Fixing this is good for you in the long run.

If you have limewire starting up everytime your PC starts up then you will have bandwidth issues.

Reason is that whatever files you dl from there are shared on your PC so as soon as you are on the net, some people might start downloading stuff from you, depending on how much stuff you have. From there your internet will slow because you could max out your uploading speed which will slow your downloading speed (this is what you do when you're browsing the net).

The easiest way to control that is to limit from limewire itself or do like what I do which is to have an external software running on my PC which tracks all my bandwidth usage. I then limit my BW from that so I never experience the "slow down" of running p2p softwares; in my case it would be bittorrent. :)
