Need More Full Thai Actors!

i know that there are beautiful thai girls out there but where are they??? why pick only look kreung??? i'm starting to see more and more of them (though girls more than guys) in the ET biz. the royal princess even said something along the lines "thai girls are beautiful"-referring to taew and can't remember the other girl, maybe it was mew nitta, but i know she mentioned taew for sure.

it is sad that these young thai women think that only getting with a farang will make beautiful babies. their definition and how they perceive beauty is so shallow! of course young white people are not into asian girls, so they are stuck with old farangs- that's why all the actresses have old daddies. and even if they can get a young white guy, the guy is not serious with them. usually old farangs will be more stable as they are old with previous wives already, so they'll probably settle with thai women at the end of their lives.

thais should have more identity and pride in their own race. anyway, i just think it's sad for the culture. you're watching a thai lakorn but you're seeing a caucasion-looking actress. on the funny side, i find it funny that thai women would steep low to get a "pretty" baby by getting with and old guy. i find it gross as i don't want a "pretty" baby that bad lmao

Reason why I have been staying far away from Ch3. Ch7 has got girls like Pooklook, Bow, Jakjaan, Aum, Yui, Min and My Queen Now Tisanart (The prettiest actress around). This is true I like actresses like Matt, Sammy, Patricia who are ridiculously pretty and who for most of them kill at acting (Matt/Sammy) but most of the time I see all of those white looking with white complexion and luk kreung actresses I am wondering what is the message to Full thai girls and boys we pretty much know have Dark skin and sometimes look African too with the broad nose, High cheekbones, dark hair, almond shaped eyes, plump lips like the latest miss Thailand ect... They are gorgeous too !! Look at Maeya Nonthawan this gorgeous girl is getting wasted by racist Ch3-sorry but after observing so many things this is my conclusion ! Don't talk to me about talent and being not ready because we see all of those light skinned tone and mad skinny or luk kreung green newbies get the main roles in Ch3 ! Maeya Nonthawan is one of the prettiest girls I have set my eyes on ! But she is in Ch3 dungeon. And I am pretty sure there are more like this !

And OMG about those Thai girls mating with old caucasian men . I guess they love them but the irony is those mixed kids end up with full Thai partners for majority of them male/female

racist towards your own race is one of the worst things you can do.

sammy actually earned it as she started with rai and side roles.

i haven't heard of maeya since her singing lakorn.

I thought I was the only one thinking that. I always thought they also went for the money too. They do have really old dads

In Asian society, white skin is considered beauty above all...so i'm not surprised when a lot of thai actresses and actors are mix. If you consider the thai royal family, they have Caucasians married into the family. they may not ever be considered for the throne but you have to admit, the white man has influence even in the royal family. And yes, i believe out of all asian countries, thailand is most accepting of mix ethnicity, which i dont have a problem with. honestly, who is a full thai now a days? taew is half chinese i thought. i think whats most important/beautiful about thailand and its entertainment world is the acceptance of people of all ethnicity. when we say america is a melting pot of all ethnicity in the western world, i think thailand takes this title in the east.

This isn't something new, there was already a fair chunk of mixed actors and actresses in the 90's. Also it's not just mixed with European/western, most Thai actors and actresses who aren't mixed with white look like they have chinese in them. I agree with @neenavaj who IS really full thai. 14% of thai people are already mixed with Chinese anyways. The race thing has never been a problem for me, you look good, I'll watch you.

i am very proud of thailand. i am not thai but i know thais are very proud of who they are. did you know that thailand is the only asian country never colonized by the west or another asian country? they have such a rich culture, they have nourished their culture for so many years unchanged, even westerners can't change who they are. yes, we may see a lot of westerners in thai cinema but the beauty of it is that they are proud of being born thai, they don't judge where their mother or father came from.

rather then focusing on why there isn't more full thai celebrities...i think you need to say, thailand needs to broaden their entertainment with fresh ideas. Just my opinion though.

Lol! I totally agree! Almost all the Channel 3 actresses and actors are mixed! It's weird to watch a "Thai" movie/lakorn when the pranangs don't like Thai! And how they came up with such names "Cherry, Pancake, Now, Dome" etc I don't get it! At least other Asian countries like Korea and China, the celebrities go by their given names! I'm not hating. It's just my thoughts! And yes Taew is half too!

lol, they have those names because their actual names are very long to pronounce. thai people always have nicknames. and thats not true how korea and china use their actual names. in korea a lot of the celebrities change their names when they enter the entertainment world, examples: yoo ah in's real name is eom hong sik and gong yoo's real name is gong ji chul. most chinese celebrities use english names as well. so its unfair to say thais don't use their real names. in fact they use their real nicknames since birth.

@neenavaj. I guess and didn't mean to offend you. I know most actresses and actors changed their names a bit or totally when entered the industry. But to white people it's just a bit weird that those actors have such names! Instead of "Suzy" they chose "Now"? I find it a bit funny too! Not to offend anyone either. Lol!

acceptance of all ethnicity? yeah all ethnicity except for thais lol i have to disagree. they won't accept black people for sure. tiger woods is part thai but you don't hear about him in thai news cause they're not proud of him due to being part black.

there has GOT to be full thais or people who are more thai than white, but they are not given any opportunities. there are definitely not just MIXED people in thailand.

it's hard to argue about the chinese because for centuries they have been everywhere in the world and made babies with many races. there are even mexican-chinese. it's really hard to measure how much chinese you have in you as you can go through generations and generations. at least they've been in thailand longer than some white person who just came and made babies with a thai woman.

also, when you say this person or that person looks chinese, that's just based on assumption by skin color or eyes. sometimes you may look like something but you are really not.

esp channel 3, who do you see? patricia, preem, margi, kim, yaya, ice amena, matt...

LOL, really? tiger should be counted? he was born and bred in america. you comparing tiger woods to thai celebrities is like comparing Will Demps (korean/african american/Puerto rican american football player) to korean celebrities, and we never hear about will demps in korean media, of course not, he's not from korea and he plays american football. we don't hear about tiger either, why? because he plays american golf...so...i have no idea where you think you should compare tiger to thai celebs or even have him in thai media.

i want to know what your definition of being full thai is because like an american, its hard to tell what that definition is. as for accepting ethnicity/race, perfect example is not just the white people, there are a lot of minorities in thailand who speak many different languages, who have different faiths and customs. you can't find someone who speaks karen in korea or japan, in korea they still think Hmong people are Laotians. in thai lakorns these minorities are even given tiny roles to play, thai celebrities wear minority clothing in real life and on screen, endorsing these people who don't have a land of their own but call thailand their home so i disagree when you say acceptance isn't there. the argument of not accepting thai people to become celebrities? not true. some of the most famous thai celebrities are "full" thai. veterans like sorapong, off pongpat, sornram t and now in the generation like tik jesadaporn, aom piyada, noon w, aff taksaorn, aum atichart, pong nawat, bee namthip, and the list goes on. if you think about it, these celebrities are still really loved in thailand. yaya has a long way to go to become a great of an actress like aom piyada. nadech will forever look up to aum atichart. so you can't say thai society ignore full thais. GTH's Hormones tv series was a perfect example of introducing mainly a thai cast to thailand. so they are going out there to recruit full thais and not just half thais.

as a follower of thai entertainment for more then a decade as well as having been to thailand, i believe they are very accepting of every race. i recall a very famous band back in the day, the band consisted of 3 members and believe it or not one of the members was half black. they were one of the most popular pop bands in thailand during those days. *anyone who remembers their band name, let me know i totally forgot, its been too long. lol This was during the 90s, other asian countries would of never accepted a band who had a half black member but guess what, thailand liked him. :)

You sure about that? There's always going to be two extremes. You can never please everyone BUT Thais are proud of Tiger. If you visit Thailand, if you're from overseas, the locals are always trying to connect to the outsiders and they usually say Tiger, so I don't know where you got that from. I don't follow Tiger, but besides having a Thai mother, I don't think he even visits Thailand that often nor has any activities there, so of course, it'll be natural if Thais aren't talking or buzzing about him when he rarely maintains the connection there. I've been in Thailand, many cities, around different groups, and they all consider Tiger Thai, so yeah.

But I'm not denying the fact that Ch. 3 is over promoting halfies.

Sorry but we have to admit there is an issue against dark/black skin tone in Thai industry. This is undeniable ! One big reason we see all of those mixed with white actresses/actors being the most promoted -even worse nowadays than in the 90's from what I've seen. Each time I see an actress playing "ugly" by doing blackface and wearing afros sometimes I feel so disgusted you have no idea. We always forget Thai folks natural skin tone for the most part is anything but white !! The Thai with dark skin, plum lips, broad nose, high cheekbones will play servant or remain in Dungeon

I did say asians in general believe white skin is beauty above all earlier. yes, its very unacceptable that a lot of asian countries can't accept darker skin color. i'm not going to just target the thai industry for poking fun at a person of darker color because i've seen a lot of other asian countries do it.

Also, if ch 7 is the only channel who promotes full thais....well honestly they need to expose their celebrities more. its hard to find a website that can stream ch 7 lakorns. ch 3 and all the other channels are consistently promoting their stars so they get a global audience.

LOL! I know what you mean! I agree with you on the Channel 3 over promoting halfies. But then again, maybe that's all they have anyways for now? Plus, halfties sells their work good right now too! I think that's why I am more drawn to the more Thai looking actresses.... like Aff? I think she is FULL Thai... correct me someone? :) I really like Aff! Too bad she is no longer active in the industry! :crybaby2:
