POSITION: Managing Director
SALARY: $30,000 - $34,000 DOE, plus benefits; eligible for bonus

Kearny Street Workshop is seeking a dynamic Managing Director for a
34-year-old San Francisco-based multi-disciplinary arts organization
serving the Asian Pacific American communities of the San Francisco Bay
Area. This is a unique opportunity to work with an established
organization that is embarking on exciting ventures such as developing
space180, a new Asian American arts venue in the Mission District.

The Managing Director works in partnership with the Artistic Director to
provide long term vision and growth strategies for the organization. The
ideal candidate will have strengths in financial management,
fundraising, grantwriting, and community arts programming.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
The Managing Director is responsible for co-directing the organization
with the Artistic Director; financial management and budget preparation;
fundraising and building relationships with community members,
foundations and government agencies; fiscal oversight of programs and
events; donor and membership development; event coordination; public
speaking on behalf of KSW; working closely with the KSW Board of
Directors on strategic management and fiscal issues; facility
maintenance, coordinating space rentals, and staff/volunteer
supervision. We are seeking an individual with strong leadership and
organizational skills and the ability to respond creatively to the
challenge of representing Kearny Street Workshop in this time of change
in the local and national arts scene, while addressing the needs of our
multi-generational community.

Required Qualifications:
* At least 2 years in nonprofit arts administration
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to
work with the Artistic Director
* Experience or knowledge in working with Asian Pacific American
communities
* Demonstrated ability in fundraising and grantwriting
* Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
* Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects
* Excellent financial management skills
* Ability to work evening and some weekends

Desired Qualifications:
* Love of the contemporary arts, and knowledge of at least two of the
following: literary arts, performing arts, visual arts, film/video,
music and dance.
* Knowledge in community-based arts programming
* Experience working with a Board of Directors
* Familiarity with databases and ability to use database programs
* Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel,
Quickbooks, Filemaker Pro database, and Internet applications
* Knowledge of facilities management

About Kearny Street Workshop

Kearny Street Workshop (KSW) is a non-profit, community-based
organization in San Francisco whose mission is to produce and present
art that enriches and empowers Asian Pacific American (APA) communities.
Throughout KSW¹s history, we have provided a crucial venue for untold
stories and access for diverse and underrepresented voices, whether
through publications, classes, or presentations. All of our programs
share a common purpose: to explore and provide insight to contemporary
APA issues through art. Our goal for the next three years is to build
our institutional capacity and infrastructure, and to address the needs
of our intergenerational community. The long-range goal of KSW is to
