I would like to make an announcement.. Laotian Buddhist now have a head quater in the United States for the first time since Laotian's monk came to the United States.. It is base in Caladonia, Wisconsin... So if those who live in Wisconsin or around.. Please suppose this center and our culture.. Because their main topic is to teach Lao new generation who forgot their root to respect and be proud of thei root also the Buddhist religion that came with us from Lao...

Yeah, I'd like to say that we can't forget who or where we're from...But being raised here in US, it's hard not to. When I have kids though, I'm gonna have my parents raise them half the time and teach them Lao, since I don't speak it at home.

i have to admit, when I was younger, I did not appreciate where I came from. I wanted to be as Americanized as I can be.

But now that I have matured, I truely appreciate my roots and my culture b/c it seperates me from everyone else. It's very unique.
