internet security, firewalls

I wanted to know if there were better internet security programs, firewalls than Norton?
Is Zone good? I saw a site that had free firewalls and stuff.

Also, when your subscription runs out it just means you no longer get updates on new protections right? So like the internet security would still work. :unsure:

I used to use Zone Alarm and it works good. Now, my firewall is included in my router, so I don't use any software.
