No no no! Let's not jinx it. Lol. Ch.7 sucks at doing action lakorns. If they had a nice balance of action, romance, and drama, I wouldn't mind. However, they really over-do them. It's really exhausting to watch. Kwan isn't very good at action and Weir is okay. They both suit drama more.

Kwan was never really given significant n'ek roles. It's so sad because she was one of the better actresses during her generation of actresses. I think she's at the peak of her career now so better late than never. I'm not a fan of action lakorns so I'm fine with her never doing one. The last one she did with New seemed like a joke with the wig and the cheap graphics. I did not tune into it at all. Weir also had a similar action genre he did with Moom Mai. I skipped that one also. The only action lakorns I've ever tuned into from Ch.7 were those that starred Sammy because she's really good with action. Those, I have been impressed with, but there were still a bit too much fighting. Channel 7 has a reputation of ruining remakes so even if the original was good, I'm not sure the same can be said with this new version. It also depends on which production it is so I'm still anticipating more news. The wait is killing me!

I guess this is the golden year for fans, in terms of reunions. Lol. First, TooMo and now Kwan-Weir. The two pairings that fans never thought would ever reunite. And then there are those like Prahet, Bowchael and Sean-Esther who were bound to reunite, and did. Lol.

Translated synopsis of Phet Dtat Phet (Diamond Cuts Diamond) from TLCThai
Chad and Yard are two hit-men who are equally skilled at their jobs. They work under the supervision of Tran, the right-hand man of Madam Louie, the leader of the underground drug dealing business in Thailand. This makes Chad and Yard compete against one another to become number one. They are constantly competing and fighting against each other over every matter. Tran sent the two on a mission to deliver Khoukitno drugs, a new type of drug, to a client. Therefore, the two must be careful to not get followed or caught by the police, especially Police Colonel Chert-Sak Chaya who is heavily driven by his job as a narcotic police. Khoukitno's drugs are unique in that they produce faster side effects. Once ingested, one will quickly fall asleep and begin to hallucinate severely. In addition, when combined with the stimulant of music, the drug's effect will increase even more. If ingested beyond the recommended dose, it will drive the person mad to a point of killing others, committing suicide, and overdose from the drug's toxicity.

Since Tran's afraid that Yard and Wyut will create trouble with Chad, he told him to leave first while Yard will leave later. On the way, Chad was secretly ambushed, which resulted in him falling off the cliff. When Tran received news of the incident, he didn't suspect that Wyut was behind it. He didn't tell Yard about what happened. The other person who knew about the incident was Colonel Chert-Sak. He sent Lieutenant Sak-Chaai, an undercover spy for the police, to disguise himself as Chad because he looks similar to Chad. He underwent surgery to look exactly like Chad even if Sak-Chaai didn't agree with the method. This was a top secret case.

Meanwhile, drug dealers from Hong Kong and Cuba want to hire Yard to steal Khoukitno's secret drug formula. Yard accepted the offer because they were willing to pay him a very high price for the job. Even though the deal was made top secret, it was unable to escape the ears of the DEA, drug enforcement administration. Yard then met Rasamee, a tourist guide. He fell in love with her and asked her to take him and the drug dealers on a tour in Chiang Mai. She took them to nightclubs and all sorts of places with entertainment. At this time, Madam Louie and her hit-men Choenlong and Bruce Lee had arrived in Thailand as business entrepreneurs who were investors in the diamond industry.

When Lieutenant Sak-Chaai wakes up from surgery, they were ready to make the switch. The police had gathered every bit of information about Chad from his past history and personality traits to ensure that they impersonate Chad accurately. When Sak-Chaai woke up to see his face, he was so unhappy that he ran away and bumped into Tran. Tran then brought Chad to rest at the mansion. He called Becky, Chad's lover to come take care of him. Becky knew that this Chad wasn't the same Chad but she didn't say anything.

Furthermore, Yard snuck into Tran's place where Chad was resting to steal the Khoukitno's drug formula in the safe. To his surprise, there wasn't anything in the safe when he opened it. There was only a letter from Tran who confronted him for being a traitor. Yard then returned to tell his drug dealers that the real drug formula was hidden in the diamond that Madam Louie was currently wearing. The only way to get it was to kill Madam Louie. Tran knew of his plan and sent Chad after Yard. Yard was fooling around with Rasamee when Chad arrived. However, he was able to escape. Chad let the woman go as well.

Madam Louie was introduced to Chad at the Khoukitno's production factory. She felt an attraction towards Chad and admired him, so she invited him to meet her in Bangkok. While waiting for Chad's arrival, Yard came instead and stole Madam Louie's diamond. Chad came just in time to help but wasn't able to retrieve the diamond. Madam Louie told him later that the diamond was a fake when she was high from the Khoukitno's drug. Concurrently, Yard went to see Becky and got high off from the Khoukitno's drug with her before raping her. He then found out from Becky that Chad wasn't the same Chad as before. He used Becky to get Chad to meet up with him and they fight. Chad was in danger but luckily Rasamee came to save him. Becky was then hit by a car while Yard escapes. Yard then calls to tell Tran that the original Chad had already died. This raised suspicions by Tran.

Chad and Rasamee were both sent undercover to investigate the case but they don't know that. They both grew fond of each other for saving each other in a couple of incidents. Rasamee was let go by Tran because she had saved Chad's life....blah blah. Lol. That's all I'll translate.

It sounds interesting, but I still don't want them to reunite in here. I don't even know who will be playing whom. I know Weir will probably be Sak-Chaai, the undercover cop playing Chad. So basically, the tourist guide and the other woman who disguises herself as a Chinese singer are also undercover cops, which means Kwan will be playing an undercover cop as well if this is the lakorn they're remaking.

It sounds confusing lol. I don't really see that much romantic scenes in here since its main focus is around drug and bunch of undercover stuff. We waited this long and if it's not mainly about them as a couple we can wait a bit longer to have them reunite in something that is more meaningful.

As the translator, it's not that confusing because I reread it a couple times. Lol. Basically, from my assumptions only, Weir will go undercover disguised as the hit-man who was a part of this drug gang before he died. No one knew that Chad, the hit-man, died. Only the police and the people who ambushed him knew. So Kwan was also sent undercover on the same case. The two won't know until probably the end that they're on the same side. However, everything will probably focus on bringing down these drug dealers instead of romantic aspects, which is a BIG NO NO for me!

Sounds boring lol. I don't want them in this lakorn. I want them in a romantic, dramatic, slap-kiss lakorn lol.

Yes, that's what I remembered of the storyline. Sak Chaai was forced to get a face change just so they could get someone to infiltrate the gang. I wouldn't have minded if he was okay with it, but he was against it and they still gave him a face lift against his will. He then spent the majority of the lakorn rebelling against the face change and his new identity, so I don't know how useful he was as an asset.

And if I remember correctly, Rasamee (played by Earn) was Sak Chaai's ex-girlfriend who was also undercover to get close to Yard (played by Umm), while Becky (she plays a minor role) is Chad's girlfriend. She didn't tell anyone that the "new Chad" was different because he was nice to her, unlike the original guy. Aum Patcharapa is the new girl Sak Chaai falls for in his new identity as Chad, but I can't remember what her name was. She was an undercover agent sent by Hong Kong or China or Taiwan - or maybe even Interpol (I know, what a vague memory I have) - posing as a Chinese singer.

So many undercover cops you'd think the case would practically solve itself, but it takes them forever to bring the bad guys down. :rolleyes1: Of course, I guess none of the agents were aware of the other so that hindered progress on the case. Although I'm sure Chad/Sak Chaai knew Rasamee was a cop since they used to date, but Rasamee wasn't aware of him since he had a face change. In theory, the idea of the storyline was okay, but the execution of it was clumsy and under-developed, so since they're remaking this, I hope it's done better.

The Chinese singer's name was Pailu, but I excluded her from the summary because they mentioned more of Rasamee. Apparently, she's the n'ek. LOL. Oh goodness. I rebel against this remake for Kwan and Weir. I'm going to be so upset if it's true.

Ah yes, that's her name! And yes, she's the n'ek. Rasamee ends up falling for Yard - but she fought hard against it since he's a bad guy and she's a cop.

Since I didn't like PTP, I would have preferred that they didn't remake it, but a fresh take on it won't be so bad if it turns out better than the original. As for this being a reunion for Kwan and Weir, I wouldn't accept it lol. There aren't a lot of romantic scenes (not surprising).

Mahalo

sarNie OldFart
I mean, they can remake it if they want to just don't cast Kwan and Weir. Please! Their reunion will go to waste. I was skimming through the original version and the second couple seemed to have a more interesting story. That's strike three right there.

So what kind of genre would you guys like to see Kwan and Weir in? Any remake suggestions? For sure it's slap/kiss for me. Lol. I'd like to see them remake Nampeung Satan. The story is kind of similar to Mai Sin Rai Fai Sawart. Lol.

Ch 7 didn't really had a good slap kiss lakorn, they'll probably have to remake some previous ch 3 ones but I would love to see weir/kwan remake So Sanae Ha.
