do you guys believe should host the new year?

well, no one is perfect.

i'm attending HINY because I like going there. I don't have issue with paying entrance and all those stuff and hello, there's nothing free in this world. about 18 xeem, they seem so unorganized and they are going to be a dead one.

There are so many different celebrations in so many different places when Meskas do they new year, why can't Hmong? Why must it be that one group do it in this one place and everyone goes there and that one group continues to hold the god damn celebration because they've always held it? What the hell, if I had the desire and money and the committee to start a celebration, I'mma start a celebration and who is to say that it's wrong or that I shouldn't have done that? I think the new group shouldn't have said anything against the old group, but should've just came out and done a god damn celebration and the old group should stop complaining because they don't own the rights to being the only ones to hold a god damn celebration.

It doesn't matter what new year is going to win. This is stupid. Is this how Hmong people love eachother? Hmong people don't. As I can see, I have been going to the new year for the past years and have not seen anything different in our Hmong community. Have the new year give anything back to our community? No, as far as I see, nothing was given back to the Hmong community. The Hmong community don't have anything as far as I can see, except for business people with the funeral home and store. But is there something out there that is call to be belong to the whole Hmong community? Have the people who was in charge of the new year used the money for our community? where did all the money that they charged us for entrance went? for their own personal use? they don't give back for the community but themselves. So, I don't care if the other new year is unorganized, at least they may try to make a difference in the community. Who care if who goes where. It doesn't matter.

I think it's dumb to have two New Years in Fresno. It seems like the New Years is not a celebration anymore but a business. I'm not going to either.

I agree with you. Everyone of those questions need to be answered.

I am going to the "Hmong United International New Year" this year because I want to see what kind of things they will be doing. For the "Hmong International New Year" I don't know if I will go. I think the people who hold the "Hmong International New Year" think they are higher than the people who came to support them. Three years ago my cousins have a booth which they sell foods and drinks. The people who work there didn't come and just asked for foods they demanded it like it belong to them and they make my 13 years old cousin and 15 years brother carry all the foods to where they were at. They yelled at my brother and cousin because there were no drinks (which they didn't asked). Both of them have to come all the way back to get bottles of water and when they went back the men there told them they don't want it anymore. Both my cousin and brother were very tried from carrying the bottles of water because it was very heavy. They couldn't do nothing but carry it all back. Now that was just rude and mean.
