Haven't come to this forum for ages. I'm surprised to see Hmong ppl watch indian serials. I'm a Bollywood fanatic and got to know many indian tv stars/shows thru bw fans vidders. I also got some indian channels, currently watching some all have english subs. Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Amrit Mathan, Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki are my favorite shows though only watch them when i have time. Watch some episodes of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? didnt really like it much hmm I guess it's boring now.

Starting off w/ my most favorite:

Amrit Manthan

Story of Amrit Manthan is based on two sisters – Amrit and Nimrit. They have been brought up in different circumstances and situations. Amrit is the carbon copy of her grandmother. On the other hand, Nimrit is just opposite to Amrit. She is serious about relationship, promise and bond of love. She thinks by her heart rather than mind. Amrit Manthan captures the journey of these two sisters who were the best friends. Now, they have become the worst enemies. Even though then the sister love between Rajkumari Amrit and Rajkumari Nimrit love remains hidden but strong.

Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai

Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai revolves around the lives of two sisters, Jeevika (Krystal D'Souza) and Maanvi (Nia Sharma), originating from Delhi.[sup] [/sup]They move to Rishikesh after the death of their parents to live with their paternal grandmother, 'Beeji' (Anju Mahendru); uncle, Madan 'Chachu' (Mohit Chauhan); aunt, Pinky (Divyajyotee Sharma); cousin, Daboo (Gaurav Kummar) and great grandmother 'Badi Beeji' (Tarla Joshi). Jeevika and Maanvi are opposites with respect to their personalities: where Maanvi is childlike and a troublemaker, Jeevika is subtle, conservative and softspoken.Nevertheless, both sisters care for each other very much and due to their circumstances, Jeevika takes on the responsibility of raising Maanvi and protecting her from harm.

Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki

Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki is about a middle class girl called Lakshmi, her inspirational journey towards realizing her dreams. Lakshmi has led a very nominal middleclass life since her childhood, yet she always felt that money is important. Hence she always motivates people to think higher, to rise up in life. The story revolves around her unique love story and how she is perplexed and unable to choose between true love and wealth.

P.S. Just realize Indian drama the actress is the protangonist, but in bollywood the guy r dominated hardly any movie w/ actress as the main character.

Been a bollywood fan all my childhood to now. its a big part of how i grew up. i just started watching indian soap operas as well but i am still getting use to them. when i hear about 200+ episodes, i shy away from them because i can't even sit through a 14 episode drama. however, why is it that all the indian couples i have seen are just so beautiful?! i thought thai couples were most beautiful but indian couples are way up there for me too. i watched iss pyaar ko kya naam doon but stopped a while ago. then ceci mentioned Diya aur baati hum. i am into that serial. i really love sooraj and sandhya's love story!! he's my ideal guy. plus, he looks like a prince!! he's so handsome! and he's got the SRK kind of haircut...major plus for me! LOL

Really Neena, from what I have known alot of Hmong ppl didnt find Indian guy attractive they like East asian/southeast guys alot more. I'm glad to meet another bollywood fan. I too grew up watching bollywood films haha and we called them india movie. I'm glad now bollywood is watched worldwide and getting more popular. However, my love w/ bollywood is not completed w/ shahid amrita couple gosh I just adore this pair they r the best I miss them so much.

Anyway, back to indian serial how did u watch them? I know the drama is friggin long, but it's only a 2o mins show so it's all cool. U shud try these 3 serials I mentioned above at least Amrit Manthan & Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai . Agreed w/ u Suraj is so cute, but I hardly watch that serial.

i catch most of the indian soaps on utube. i don't know where else to go LOL. yeah...recently i have been disappointed with bollywood, they have been making...lame movies...like hollywood. i haven't seen a good movie in a very very long time so i go back and just rewatch old ones. i feel like its all about sex appeal in bollywood movies with music with trashy lyrics. i am old fashioned...i am stuck in the 80-90s bollywood lmao. lately, indian soaps are more popular then usual, i have noticed. where do you watch them with eng subs? i understand a little hindi but not enough...i need eng subs! LOL

He actually make me realize that a man doesn't have to be educated to marry me .. as long as he's determine and love me for me, then life is all good - these Indian soap sure make me see life in so many ways between a DREAM MAN and an IDEAL HUSBAND LOL

Did you see him offscreen interview - omg, so handsome when he smile .. i especially love that one interview he did with the red baseball cap on .. or that one clip where he have that one day tour with him .. he sounds so genuine and nice .. so happy he's not marry so there's still hope for a 'real' relationship between SURYA off screen lmao

I grew up watching Indian movie - i think it's the same time as me with thai lakorn. These two never seems to escape from me. I get bore of kdrama/tdrama and other but bollywood and thai, no matter how sucky the script is, i still give it a shot especially when it comes to my favorite. I'm an 80-90 fans too. Lately, bollywood has been horrible with their movie .. some are over dramatic, some are too silly, and some just makes no sense lmao.

The only three Indian soap i watch are: Iss Pyaar, DABH, and Punar Vivah. I have to say, i love love ISS PYAAR but i also love DABH equally. I wish SURYA and ARSHI get closer than they are now .. too many misunderstanding and mother in law problem will bore me someday. I'm so happy that ASR is back to full blast. I miss him dearly and SURAJ needs to trust Sandhya in believing that dream with open eyes will come true too.

Anyway, enough with my complain, i'll try to watch the other soap if i have the chance. It just sux that i dont' like sister's story - it bore me out most of the time!

Ah, Punar Vivah is good too but not as good as the other two ..

Speaking of Shahid, gosh - i love him. I can't get over the fact that he used to be so so skinny like my p'umm in his debut day lmao

Recently I got some indian channels for 6 months and thankfully the soaps have english subs. Currently watching Amrit Manthan & Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai they r very good what sux is they both airing at the same time. U shud give a try, u might like it. I tried watching Iss pyaar & DABH, but they never excited me. Being a huge bollywood fans, bollywood got me into indian serials lol I used to watch 2 old indian soaps Kasauti zindagi kay and kahin to hoga on indianforums, there they provided the episode links and written update. As for bollywood films yes agreed many of new bollywood movies r copying hollywood style and concept but I still watch it. I miss bollywood traditional movies though, wish they were more. The new songs are much better imo, but some lyrics and songs r lame. I have a passionate for bollywood, I can careless about other countries entertainment.

I too grew up w/ Thai lakorn/boran and indian movies but I stopped watching Thai lakorn ever since I got hooked to Bollywood. I like Indian oldies too, but I only like the old Hmong production dubbed, haven't seen any original bollywood oldies. One of my favorite Indian movie is Maine Pyar Kiya, but I have yet to see the original version. lol OMG Salman was such a hottie in his younger days. Ntuj Fwm Koob voice I find sexy & romantic. Also love St Universal production omg they got the best dubbers Chandni, Dewaana, Tum Mero Ho, etc r very popular to the Hmong back in the old days. I prefer bollywood movies post 2000, but love to see more traditional bollywood movies back.

I have watched a few episodes of Iss Pyaar and DABH didnt like it, haven't seen Punaar Vivah but saw a few vids of the lead couples. Agreed Suraj is so handsome and cute, one of the most good looking Indian tv actors.

Shahiiiid this man is so good looking, he can be sexy, cute, innocent, handsome he has it all! I love him best w/ Amrita Rao they r made for eachother only if they realize. lol Gosh I want them back badly!!!

Recently I started watching some Indian tv serials and I'm addicted.. Currently addicted to Arnav & Khushi, Viren & Jeevika, and RK & Madhubala. I never liked bollywood films growing up because I couldn't stand all the singing and dancing, but it has gotten better. After watching A Gentleman's Dignity I needed to find something to watch and I came in here and saw someone's signature with Arnav and Khushi..and then I got addicted.... I do like Sooraj and Sandhya's love story, but I wish there was more of a focus on those two rather than everyone else...

I think i'm a good Bollywood film critic b/c most of my films i watched .. are like by other when i recommend them so if you ever in need of a good bollywood film, let me know. I used to hate Bollywood song until DDLJ came along .. i'm addicted and since then i couldn't stop listening to Bollywood tune.

Anyway, i've said it before .. if you're looking for good script with decent looking actors -- i'd suggest SALAAM NAMASTE b/c i didn't really like Saif Ali Khan until this movie. As for PREITY -- i'm such a fan .. LOVE LOVE HER <3
