help with poem???

ok i need help for my english class ka what do u guys think this poem really means and what are some of the literay elements example of literary elements: personfication, metphor,simililes, foreshadowing etc.

My life closed twice before its close

My life closed twice before its close---
It yet remains to see
If immortality unveil,
A third event to me

So huge, so hopeless to conceive
As these that twice befell
Parting is all we know of heaven,
And all we need of hell.

I think a sign of foreshadowing is "If imortality unveil" because it is kinda of giving a vibe of events to come but I could be wrong. As for metaphor and similies haha I don't see none kinda slow.

Lets see I'm not sure but it says a third event so I'm thinking that one was birth two is growing up and then 3rd is death. And that its finally drawing closer and ready to fall upon the person. But then again it also says As these twice befell it can also be that it is the authors 3rd experience with a near death experience.

and parting is all we know of heaven meaning thats where everyone expects to go, but hell is something that happens regardless of a person expectations.

Sorry thats what I think of it, but I could be wrong. Sorry If that didn't help.......
