Between Two Worlds :: Scene 6

Between Two Worlds

There were two worlds that she knew of, in which none of them lead her to her destiny.
Only their combined paths can lead her to her true love.

Scene 1: Prologue

She sped as fast as her legs would take her. No matter where she turned, she only saw the darkness of his heart. She didn’t understand why she felt like this. All she knew was that she had to get to that old house by the river, no matter what it took. As she made a right turn, she saw his dark figure gaining on her.

“No, please don’t hurt me! she screamed, her face stained with tears. Her eyes were wide with horror.

“Give me the Galencia, and I will let you go, the dark figure demanded, laughing.

She shook her head, her eyes set upon the dark figure’s blood red lips. As she lowered her gaze, she saw that the dark figure looked familiar.

“Princess, I do not want to hurt you. I am just following orders, the dark figure apologized, his black shadowy eyes filled with pure guilt. He didn’t want to do this. However, he didn’t want to die either. He knew the wrath of his master better than anyone. Truth be told, he had faced his master’s wrath many times; each and every time swearing to himself that he would never upset his master ever again.

As for the princess, she sat, her back one with the walls. She was thoroughly petrified, yet her heart was not beating that fast. She knew this person; somewhere in the back of her head. Names were running through her mind, back and forth and all over. However, none stuck out as this dark figure.

Who was he? Who did he work for?

Before she received an answer, she blacked out. When she opened her big dark eyes, she saw the ceiling of her bedchamber. It was as if all she had faced that day were a dream.

This is the start of my new Fanfict, hope you guys like it. I realized that most people like different actresses and actors, so you can use anyone you like for the characters. Use your imagination! As for me, you know who I'll use <3

Oh ya, If you like only then will I update. This is a new writing style for me, it will take awhile to get used to. I might be a bit slow on updates, but hopefully I can keep you wanting for more. Anyways, I have another Fanfict that I'm determined to finish. If I finish THAT one, then updates on this one will be much faster.

Bye for now,

Scene 2: Hoops for Hearts

It was a bright, sunny day at the Galencian Palace. Princess Daralynn, Crown Jewel of Galencia, was about on her daily walk. Or should it be described as patrol? Ever since her weird, wild dreams, the princess had never been able to concentrate on her studies. Her mentor, Professor McReign, had told her to 'calm down'. The princess was restless through-out, always disobeying all the rules. She had simply stated to all of her professors that "Rules were meant to be broken". Most of the professors sighed at the princess' remark, but some tried reasoning with her. Even still, the princess was consistent.

Today, the princess looked around for her almost-like-sister maid, Narin. "Narin, are you there?" the princess called out into the vast garden.

A small, pale figure appeared infront of the princess, herself forced into a bow. "Sawasdee ka, Princess."

"Hi," she replied, smiling. "What's up today? Do you have my schedule?"

The maid nodded. "Yes, Princess."

"Good, what do I have first?"

The maid referred to the leather book in her hands. She turned to today's date and gazed down the list. Even though she thought of her master as a real sister, she always had her own limits towards the princess' behavior. "First, there's French with Professor Hopkins," the maid answered, using her tongue to take out the 'P' in Professor Hopkins' name.

The princess sighed. "Professor Hopkins? Oh god, I cannot stand him!" the princess replied, her face like a scrunched up piece of paper.

"Calm down, Princess. Please!" the maid begged, herself scared of the queen's wrath.

"Yes, yes. I know Mother won't be happy," the princess continued. "I just don't like French, that's all. Especially when the dark figure I saw in my dreams looked sort of French..."

The maid bit her fingernails to the core. "Princess, be careful of what you say. There are lurkers everywhere," the maid warned, her eyes darting.

"Oh, don't be a scaredy cat, Narin! No one's going to learn the truth about my desires for that superstar!" the princess shrieked, her eyes twitching.

The maid giggled. "Ja, khun jao ying."

Just then a man tapped the princess on the shoulder...

Scene 2: Invitation

There was a man staring at the princess. He had broad shoulders, and a small mustache. It looked as if he came from the city; he was probably one of the messenger men. However, who actually prohibited these men so close to the princess? There must've been a mistake. The princess turned herself towards the man, her eyes shining.

"Who are you?" the princess asked.

The man shifted back and forth uneasily. "Princess, my name is Komol. I am the CEO of CH7. Nice to meet you."

The princess reached out her hand and shook his. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Komol," the princess greeted, smiling. "If I may ask, why are you here? Must you not be very busy this time of the year? It is near the Star Awards..."

The man smiled. "That, is exactly why I have come to you. Our CH7 Board has agreed on inviting you as one of out judges," the man informed.

"Oh, sure."

The maid turned the princess around and whispered into her ear, "...are you sure, Princess?"

"Yes, I'm sure," the princess whispered back. To the man, she simply smiled. "I'll be there," she reassured him.

The man bowed and made his way to the palace gates, waving at the smiling princess.

The maid looked into the princess' dark eyes, trying to figure out what the princess was thinking.

"What?" the princess asked, turning towards her maid.

"Nothing, my princess."

"Good, 'cause I want to go to the lake and run around before going to French lessons."

"Yes, Princess." The maid took the princess' hand and lead her to the lake, where there were many flowers, some blooming and others fully bloomed.

The princess walked around. "Don't you think these flowers are magnificient?"

"Yes, Princess."

The princess laughed heartily. "Is the only thing you can say 'Yes'?"

The maid sighed. "Yes..."

"What if I order you to say 'No'?"

"Then I will say no, Princess."

"What if I order you to call me Daralynn?"

"I cannot do that, Princess. It is against the queen's law."

"Please, I feel so distant when you call me Princess."

The maid sighed. "So, are you sure you're going to the awards?"

"Yes, Narin. I'm hoping that HE will be there," the princess whispered, enlarging the 'HE'.

The maid laughed. "Yes, Princess. I hope so too. So then you can be happy," the maid replied.

"Don't you want to be happy, Narin?"

"My happiness is seeing you happy, remember that, Princess."

"Ok, then let's not go learn today."

"What, Princess that's impossible!"

"No, it's not."

"But-"

The princess smiled. "My happiness is your happiness, and I want you to be happy. No French lessons today. Let's go to the stalls."

Scene 3: Lessons

The princess sat near the hearth of the fireplace, whistling as the French teacher spoke. She paid no attention to the old man at all; her eyes were transfixed on the faded wallpapers as her eyes were wandering through her mind. She knew she would have to face the wrath of her father, the king, when the French teacher reported her, but she didn't care. All she knew was that she was a judge to a famous award party. She would probably even get to meet...

"Princess, sit up straight," the French teacher instructed. He was not going to tolerate this kind of behavior.

"What is it?"the princess asked, throughly not paying any attention to the furious teacher at all.

"Princess, listen to me or I will tell your father!" the French teacher hollered. To the princess, the French teacher's words went into one ear and out the other. She did not care the least of which words used la, le, or les.

Just at that moment, there was a knock on the door. It was the queen, in her golden embroidered dress. The princess could see that her mother did not look at all pleased. However, that did not scare her the least. She didn't mind her mother one bit.

The queen quickly paced to her daughter, stealing a gaze from the French teacher. "Daralynn dear, please pay attention to the teacher. It is for your own good, honey," the queen whispered, feeling the eyes of the maidservants hot on her.

"Mom, I was learning quite well. A table uses le, see? I got it right," the princess exclaimed, her eyes switching back and forth.

"Daralynn, a table uses la. It is feminine."

"Mom, I don't care. I told you I don't like French."

"If I tell your father, will you like it?"

The princess' eyes wandered back and forth. "...maybe yes."

"Daralynn, please. Listen, if you don't finish this lesson, you're not going to the Star Awards."

The princess' eyes flickered. "But-"

"No buts, Daralynn. Be a good girl for Mommy, will you?"

The princess nodded. "Yes, mom." She saw the French teacher snickering. "What's so funny?"

The French teacher pretended to be amist in the textbooks, only giving the princess a small glance. "Nothing, my princess."

By saying that, it caused the maids to start laughing. Soon, even the guards were smiling Everyone was smiling, all but one: the princess.

The princess was filled with rage. "Mom, that's outrageous! I want to go, and I'll ask Dad."

"Your father was the one who decided this, not me."

"That's not true."

"Yes it is, young lady."

"But-"

"You will learn French, now," the queen finished, turning her back on her daughter. When she saw that her daughter was about to blow, she turned her head, bellowing. "You will do as I say, Daralynn."

The princess finally gave in, sighing.

The French teacher was snickering.

The maids were giggling.

The guards were smiling.

And so the lessons continued. On and on it went. The princess had given in to this, but don't you doubt for a second that she would give in tomorrow. No sir, she wouldn't. But if it concerned her adorable superstar...

Scene 4: Flashback

The princess paced back and forth in her bedchamber. As she got closer to the scene, it made clear sense to her that all that had happened was not only a dream. It was as if she was in a trance set by one of the brightest alchemists of Galencia. She knew her dreams had a meaning, rather than being 'a simple dream', like her teachers had all hypothesized. They did not understand her; not even Narin understanded her. She was all alone in this world. The princess went to her bed and its pinkish sheets. She turned to Narin, who obeyed by walking to turn off the lights, as if she read the princess' mind.

"Good night, Princess," the maid whispered, walking to the princess and tucking her in.

"Good night, Narin," the princess replied. She did her best to close her eyes, setting her mind to wander.

As the princess fell off into a deep sleep, her mind became one with the other world she had dreamed of. She felt her surroundings alive in her mind. They made her wonder, of all the things in this world. The dark figure was right at his usual place: in front of her. He knew that she would come back. He had known that her world and his, were connected. If only she knew how in the world she could resolve the problem, everything would be fine. Her worries would all be solved. If only it was that easy...

"Princess, I have given you one day to decide. Tell me now," the dark figure bellowed, his eyes staring from the princess' face down.

The princess searched in the dark figure's eyes, trying to find the clue she needed to reveal him. However, there was none. When she looked into his eyes, all she could feel was the coldness of his heart. Not even the fireplace at the palace could ever help his pure icyness.

"I will not give you the palace, over my dead body!" the princess shouted. She knew she was in it big. Honestly, the princess never liked two answer questions. She thought that there was more to everything than 'yes' and 'no'.

"Princess, I have given you a chance! Why do you not accept it?" the dark figure asked, his eyes searching right through the princess'.

"I will not tolerate anyone taking over the pride of the Galnecian people," the princess replied simply. She acted as if nothing happened.

The princess looked around her, scanning the scenery. As much as she scanned, she could not identify this place. Was it an imaginary place out of her mind? However, if it was...why in the world couldn't she dictate it? Why was she not in control?

At that moment, she heard people calling her name from the distance. The sound felt oddly familiar.

Scene 5: Reality?

The princess woke up with a start. She breathed unevenly as her vision became clearer. To the window she could see the sun rising; it was not morning just yet. In front of her was the maid, whos eyesbrows were woven into a bridge. The princess looked around her; trying to find the flaw hidden among the numerous bookshelves in her room. The maid never stared at the princess like that, there was definitely something wrong...or in the princess' mind, right. The princess rubbed her sleepy eyes before opening her mouth to let out a huge yawn.

"What is it, Narin?" the princess asked, startled.

"Oh, I heard you shouting, Princess. So I woke up and came running in here to see what was wrong," the maid answered, relieved that the princess was okay.

"Well, I had a bad dream about HIM," the princess ventured, hoping that the maid understood her intentions.

The maid seemed rather intrigued. "What did he do, Princess?" the maid asked, biting on her fingernails to the core.

"He was oddly familiar. He said he wanted Galencia."

The maid's eyes were huge at the mention of Galencia. "HE WANTED GALENCIA?"

"Yes, yes indeed," the princess confirmed, nodding. "I can't let that happen."

"Princess, it was a dream. Only a dream," the maid reminded.

"It was NOT only a dream. It was real, Narin. I could feel his hands grasping my throat."

"Princess, don't be silly. Too much studying is clouding your vision. You just can't think clearly."

"Narin, I'm not joking. He is lurking somewhere. I know it. It's like I've seen him somewhere."

The maid thought for a second. "Maybe on TV, or in books?" the maid suggested.

The princess sighed. "I donno, Narin...I'm hoping the next time I fall asleep I can get more answers from him."

The maid yawned. "Ok, Princess," the maid agreed, her eyes barely open.

The princess giggled. "You can go to sleep now, Narin. Good night!" the princess instructed. She reached for the lamp and switched it off. The room became oddly dark. It recalled her of the dark figure, the guy haunting her.

The maid nodded. "Good night, Princess."

The princess tossed and turned in her bed. She tried counting sheep; tried singing herself to sleep. She tried everything, but none of them got her to drift her off into the Unknown Land of the dark figure. She was determined, however. She had to find answers. His name, his status, or at least where he came from. She wanted to know where. She needed to know how. And she needed it now.

Scene 5: Party Princess

The princess rummaged through her clothing rack, trying to find a suitable gown. She felt as if she was in High School again. The anxiety of being prom queen, the memories of her ex boyfriend caressing her...it all seemed so real. As she rummaged, she hummed to herself the tunes of "Lover's Dream". She noticed a shard of glass lying underneath the trousers.

"Narin, come here, quick!" the princess shrieked, her face plastered with shock. "How did it get here?"

The maid shook her head. "I have no idea, Princess."

The princess resigned back to her bed. She ordered the maid to get her a custom costume made out of pure silk. The more she stayed at this place, the more it haunted her. A girl's night out should help...(or so she thought). After the princess got her royal gown ready, she went to the limousine and got on, directing the driver to take her to the Star Awards. The driver nodded his head and set of. They were followed closely by escorts. The princess felt uneasy.

"Driver, why are they following us?" the princess asked, curious.

"Princess, they are going for your safety," the driver pointed out.

"I know, but I don't like it," the princess clarified, pouting. She didn't understand why everyone wanted her to be safe. It was not as if the dark figure could hurt her here...or could he? The princess was not too sure herself, but hopefully he couldn't. She didn't want any complications on the party day; she was a honored guest, and she wanted to prove to everybody that a princess was indeed capable of being intelligent, as well as being pretty beyond words.

When they arrived, the princess got out of the limousine and slammed the door - hard. She walked onto the red carpet, feeling more important than she's ever been. As her bodyguards followed her around, the princess got acquainted with some of the stars. She was very fond of Seangtawan, the new rising star of CH7. Seangtawan had a way of making her smile; making her laugh. The princess felt carefree around Seangtawan. It was a great feeling.

"Seangtawan, I've had so much fun!" the princess exclaimed, smiling.

"Glad you had a lot of fun, Princess. I heard you were quite fearful a few days back," Seangtawan answered.

"Please, don't call me Princess. We're friends now, call me Daralynn," the princess instructed.

"Sure, Daralynn," Seangtawan answered back, smiling. Just at that moment, another famous actress made her grand entrance. It was Lola, that famous sexy bitch of the century. She was filthy rich, and also counted as one of the HISOs. Seeing Lola for the first time, the princess didn't get a good impression. Lola was quite mean to her co-stars, and she did not the least pay any attetion to the princess. How rude, the princess thought bitterly.

Lola walked over to Seangtawan and the princess. She gave a white blinding smile to Seangtawan, and snickered at the princess.

"Seangtawan, what did you get yourself into?" Lola asked, giggling.

Seangtawan gave a small smile before introducing her new friend. "Lola, this is Daralynn, Princess of Galnecia."

Lola's eyes were wide. "Princess?" Lola uttered, stunned. Oh shit, Lola thought. She was in for it now.

Scene 6: Search

The princess directed her gaze all over the place. She searched high and low, but there was no sign of her crush. She knew he was here; the papers had listed his name as one of the candidates, and those couldn't possibly be wrong, could they? Some time later, she spotted numerous newsreporters crowding around a special someone. The princess' heart skipped a few beats. She inhaled a few deep breaths before leaving Seangtawan and Lola 'wide-eyes'.

As she got closer to the group of people, they dispersed, into corners of the convention hall. Weeraphat, one of the princess' bodyguards, quickly followed the princess attentively. He even gave some of the reporters who were going to interview the princess 'the stare'. They all returned back to their small groups and whispered in hush tones.

When she got close enough, she could see the superstar, Tawin, sitting on the marble bench. When he saw the princess come by, he rose to show respect. The princess smiled. She could feel Lola's gaze on her. Burn, the princess thought with satisfactory.

"Hello, Princess," Tawin greeted, smiling brightly. The princess smiled back, acknowledging Tawin's cuteness.

"Hello, Tawin," the princess greeted. "Please call me Daralynn." Weeraphat gave the princess a pull on the sleeve, but she ignored it. Tawin pulled a chair out for the princess.

"Please sit down, Prin-, Daralynn," Tawin invited, showing off his bright teeth.

"Okay," the princess agreed, sitting down. She could feel the newsreporters' gaze on her. Reluctantly, one of the newsreporters came forth and tried interviewing the princess.

The princess knew she was ready. She would show the world (and her parents) that she was indeed not only a pretty face. This press conference would be publicity to the Galnecian throne, and would bring many into question of meddling with the princess.

"Hello. As you all know my name is HRH Princess Daralynn Raira Na Ayuttaha. I am daughter of the King and Queen. There have been rumors about my mysterious dreams. Better yet, call them nightmares." The princess paused to get a breath. There were more flashing bulbs. "I would like to clarify to all the people in this party that I am not crazy like some people have accused. I am in fact capable of doing almost anything. Please do not think that I am just a pretty face. Please listen to my words; I am not someone who runs around throwing temper tantrums. I have sins, and everything else than comes along with being a human. So please, stop the gossip about me going to a mental hospital. You know that there are many alchemists trying to overthrow the thrown. I believe that this, is one of them. I will stand guard. Remember that I'm not making things up. I have a duty to Galnecia and I'm going to fufil it no matter what happens. Thank you."
