Attention Filmmakers & Screenwriters Possible $20,000 Grant
EAST WEST PLAYERS PARTICIPATES IN THE ABC ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION
GROUP AND THE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS TALENT DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP GRANT PROGRAM
In the fall of 2005, ABC and The Walt Disney Studios launched the sixth
season of the Talent Development Scholarship Grant Program with the aim
of nurturing and supporting aspiring writers, directors, and filmmakers from diverse backgrounds. The program is designed to assist college and graduate students as well as artists that are current members of participating non-profit creative arts institutions. The goal is to provide financial support and mentorship in the development of a new work or for the completion of a work in progress.
Artists selected for the Scholarship Grant Program will receive a grant of $20,000. Organizations that submit a winning recipient will receive a $10,000 winning grant to expand or enhance a creative arts program. Selected participants will be paired with a mentor for 10 months. The program concludes with a series of workshops in Los Angeles at ABC Entertainment and The Walt Disney Studios.
ABC and The Walt Disney Studios will award the scholarships/grants through the participating organizations only. NO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM APPLICANTS DIRECTLY.
This program is an especially great opportunity for any filmmaker wanting to make a video, write a screenplay, or write a TV script. To receive an application for this program, please e-mail East West Players Literary Manager Jeff Liu at jliu@eastwestplayers.org. Read the application carefully, and send in all the required elements by February 24, 2006 (postmark deadline).
We will notify all applicants of whether their work has been chosen for submission to ABC/Disney by March 31, 2006. Please note that being submitted is no guarantee of winning, as ABC/Disney will then go through their own selection process to determine the winners.
