Well, I guess it all depends on how we perceive things. Viz., if I like someone for a reason, somebody else may not like that person for that same reason.

I think rivalry that brings the best out of people in terms of talent, wits, and intelligence is sometimes healthy, but it has to be done professionally and respectfully. If we don't challenge ourselves or are afraid of outshining someone or perhaps even offending others, then we may never reach our full capacity. A game keeps points, students are ranked, employees are evaluated, lakorns have ratings, and so forth. That is a reality we live in.

However, I think some people may take it to an extreme and turn everything into an unhealthy competition where there has to be a winner and a loser for everything. Being the loser means you'll never be good enough and you'll amount to nothing. That's not true. Everyone has their time to shine. But when it's your turn to shine, let the lights guide you, not blind you.

I just wanted to say something. Lol I can't fall asleep. I don't know if that pertained to what you were referring to.
