CHAPTER 9============================================================
(Seven Elephant Restaurant)
“Thank you Jane,” Ploy handed a white envelope to her agent. “This is for your efforts the last two months and for helping me seal a purchase on PloySOY clothes line.”

Jane took it. “Nong Ploy, I wish you the best, and if you ever need anything don’t hesitant to call me.” Jane walked out of the restaurant. Ploy grabbed the file of the Green Clothes Band purchaser that she chose and put it into her large tote bag. Two others offered better prices, but she didn’t like their future of using the clothe line as a lingerie brand or to take the factories to China. Ploy got ready to leave when someone called her name.

“Ploy.” She recognized the young rising actor Teeravee. Vee grabbed her inward and placed a kiss on her cheek, very close to her lips.

“Khun…” Ploy pushed him away, “Khun Vee.”

“Ploy, I almost didn’t recognize you. You look so much more beautiful.” He leaned into her again and whispered, “Did you get anything else done? You look fuller…here…” One of Vee’s hands wrapped around her waist and lowered to grip her butt cheek.

Khun Vee, this is inappropriate.” Ploy pushed him off and walked out with Vee calling her and following her out.

In the parking lot, Ploy quickly got out her keys to unlock the car door, but Vee grabbed her hand and twisted her around, “You’re awfully feisty today. Perhaps we can make good use of that aggressiveness.” He grabbed her and pushed her against the cold concrete parking wall. His reeked of cigarettes and he was pumping his tongue at her teeth, saying open sesame. His body was grinded on hers, and she couldn’t react.

“And you said you‘ve changed.” The loud voice intercepted Vee’s attempt and Vee pulled back to tell the interfering asshole to take a hike.

Ploy was free from the squash, and she turned to the voice, “Jessadaporn?”

“Surprise?”

Vee walked up to Jessadaporn and turned to Ploy, “Aren’t you over with this idiot? You said you were divorcing him.”

Jessadaporn walked between them, “Sorry, buddy, to rain on your parade. “ He grabbed Ploy’s hand and dragged her away.
---
(Inside Je’s car)
Jessadaporn looked straight at the road in silence.

“Umm…Jessadaporn, it is not like you think is?”

He kept his straight face, “I don’t care who you screw.” Then he finally turned to her as he stopped as a red light. “This whole time I couldn‘t sleep thinking about the real motive you‘re back, and now that I’ve seen you again, I must know the answer today.” Ploy opened her mouth to ask him what he meant but Jessadaporn pumped the gas. She let out a gasp and clenched on the seat beat. He zigzagged in rocket speed and turned into dessert country roads. Finally, Jessadaporn pulled to a stop in front of an abandoned warehouse. “Out!”

Ploy clenched closer to her seatbelt, “I’m not getting out!” She can see the killer look in him. “You’re crazy. I told you that I have pure intentions. I just want to make amends. I just want to show you the real love I have for you.”

“Real love?” He unbuckled her and dragged her out. He opened the heavy warehouse door and pulled her inside. He closed the door shut and threw her on the dusty ground. “I’m fed up with your love bogus. I have no patience.” Jessadaporn kneeled before her. He wrapped his hands on her ankle and pulled her closer to him. “If you won’t tell me nicely; I will get it out of you the hard way.” He grabbed her short heels and yanked them off, them he reached under her skirt and rolled one of her thigh high panty hose off.

Ploy kicked at him, but it was not use, and she screamed, “What are you doing?”

“Stay still.” He held up the panty hose in front of her. Grabbing her hands together, he started to bond her wrists. Then he kneeled over her midbody with his knees on the side of her wiggling body. He sat on her and leaned over to peer down at her. He took the pocket knife he had grabbed out from his car in front of her face. “I’m going to get the truth out of you.”

“What are you going to do?”

“Kill you. Maybe.” Ploy froze as he brought the knife to lift up her skirt up. The cold metal was on her skin. Jessadaporn smiled as he cut her slip of panty. He ripped the rest off and brought the piece of white cotton to his face. He inhaled her unique woman smell and let his smile grow crooked. “Now, tell me. What do you want with my Grandma? From me?”

Ploy screamed and kicked more. “You’re scaring me!”

“Tell me!” He kissed her roughly, as he raised the knife to her collarbone. He bit on her tongue and liked now his teeth clanked with hers. Ploy pushed him off, and the movement causes the knife to sink into her upper arm. “Shit!!!” Jessadaporn swore and he shook Ploy. “Ploy? Ploy? Are you okay?”

Ploy looked up at him and the concern look on him made her smile. A single tear ran down her cheeks. She reached her weak hands to stroke his face. “Je, the reason is because I love you.” Then she fainted. Jessadaporn froze and time froze. He can only hear his heart drumming out of his chest.

CAHPTER 10===========================================================================
(Emergency Room)
“If he wasn’t my own blood. I’ll have him arrested.” Grandma stroked Ploy’s hair. “What did he try to do to you?”

Ploy rubbed her bandage upper arm consciously lying on the hospital bed as she looked over to Jessadaporn standing behind Grandma sprouting the devils’ horns, daring her to tell the truth.

“Nothing. It was an accident. I‘m okay.” She begged, “Can we get out of here, Grandma. I hate hospital.”

Grandma turned back to give her grandson a scornful look. “No need to tell me. I can tell.” She patted Ploy, “Okay, you want to get out, then let’s get you back home to recover.”

Then a nurse entered the room, “The doctor wants to discuss the patient’s condition with the relative.”

Grandma walked toward the nurse. “Good. I have many questions to discuss with the doctor about my daughter-in-law.” She turned to Jessadaporn. “You get the release and take Ploy back first.”

The door closed and they were alone. Jessadaporn walked over to sit on the chair beside the bed. “I turned into the bad guy in this event.” He looked lazily at her. “You’re the one who pushed yourself on the blade. Call this your lucky day, just you wait--” His cell rang and he picked it up, “Hello, baby…I haven’t forgot.” Jessadaporn hung up and he looked at Ploy in annoyance. “On second thought, I’ll give you a pass today.” He grabbed her good arm and dragged her up. “Up and out of here. I have ladies to entertain.”

“Oi, can you be slower.” He pulled her out of the room and headed out in wide strides to the reception desk.

Jessadaporn shook his head, “Tell that to my little buddy. It’s 8 pm. He used to being iron hard right now in heaven.”

Ploy grounded herself and faced him, “Why do you do that? Tell be about your…adventures.”

For a second, he told she was going to cry. Jessadaporn laughed, “Did you expect fidelity? If you can play around, I can to. Are you just tick off because I cut your need short with Vee?”

Ploy bitted on her lips. This was the first time she has seen him in weeks, and he kept coming on to her before she can make her play. Ploy looked straight into his eyes, “Jessada, there is nothing between me and Vee or any other men. And I forgive you for today. I understand that you are suspicious that I have an ulterior motive but I just want a second chance. But you won’t give me one. I called you but you blocked me. How am I suppose to show you I’ve changed when you won’t even associate with me?”

Jessadaporn narrowed his eyes at her, “You better check yourself out before you end up in the morgue.” He walked out of the front entrance.
--
(Inside the doctor’s office)
Grandma’s face lighted up to what the doctor had just revealed to her. “Are you sure?”

“Yes, the patient is one month pregnant. It’s early and the patient may not be aware because of the confusion with her medications side effects. I have prescribed some vitamins for you to take back to your grand daughter-in-law. She must stop taking her current medications immediately and soon she will recognize her nausea and tiredness as pregnancy symptoms.”

Grandma smiled wide. Knowing the sex addict her grandson had morphed into, there was no doubt he fathered the baby. This must be what Ploy was hiding for her, acting so jumpy and strange. It is time for her to be the fairy godmother. “Thank you, doctor.” She walked out of the hospital and pulled out her phone to call her lawyer. “Khun Ton, I need to see you right now.”
--
(Pholdee Residence)
“Kaew, where’s Nu Ploy?”

“She said she was tired when she returned and headed up to her room.” Kaew looked weirdly at her madam, “Khun Ying, you’re back late and you’re unusually happy.”

“Yea, does the old not have a right to happy once in a while?” Grandma smile wider and handed a prescription bag to Kaew, “Trash the prescriptions bottles in the kitchen that Nu Ploy is taking. The doctor gave orders that they no longer serve a purpose. And these are vitamins to be taken with meal.”

“Yes, madam.”

“When did that grandson of mine leave?”

“Leave?”

“I told him to drive Nu Ploy back.”

“No, madam, Khun Ploy returned in a taxi.” Grandma spoke aloud, “It’s time for Jessadaporn to come back home.”
--
(Next morning at United Thai Bank)

“Grandma…What are we doing here?” Usamanee asked. First, Grandma personally oversaw her take the new vitamins the doctored prescribed her. Then Grandma had demanded her to accompany her and the family lawyer Ton to attend an important matter.

An office worker intercepted them. “Khun, you can’t enter there; there’s a bid going on.” Ploy recognized the worker as Dao the head event organizer. Then as Dao came face to face with Grandma, her eyes popped as she recognized who she was talking to. “Sorry, Chairman. I haven’t seen you in the office lately.”

“No problem, Dao. Update me on the bid progress.” Dao started to summarize the current bids on the properties that the bank has acquired.

Ten minutes later, Grandma grabbed Ploy’s hands. “Come on, it’s time to crash the party.”
The bidding reception was filled with sharp dressed men each huddling in their circle and having a race to see who’s bidding number is raised the most to beat out the competitor. Jessadaporn caught sight of his Grandma and Ploy entering. He stood up and walked to his Grandma.

“Grandma, what are you doing here?”

Grandma gave a disapproving look, “I have let you go wild long enough.” She held her hand to address the crowd, “There are illegal organizations, corrupt politicians, and nuclear weaponry representatives here. Jessada, when do we associate with these rotten tomatoes? You know what their interest in buying our acquired land—to build nuclear plants, store drug—Je where has your sense of moral go?”

“Grandma, we are the top corporation of the South East. We are no longer just a bank. Can you believe the Hua Hin Shoreline is going for 35 million?”

Grandma addressed Dao, “Halt the bid.”

“Yes, Mrs. Chairman.” Dao walked away to the stage to announce the closure of the bid as Jessadaporn stared at his Grandma in disbelief.

“Grandma, do you know what you just did costing our company millions?”

“I know exactly what I’m doing Mr. ex-CEO.”

Jessadaporn narrowed his eyes, “What did Grandma just said?”

“You heard right.” Grandma addressed Lawyer Ton, “Khun Ton, please tell my wild grandson here the news.”

Lawyer Ton hesitated as he saw the obvious anger in Jessadaporn, “Khun Jessadaporn, you’re Grandma had relieve you of your title as the CEO of United Thai Bank and in your place, Mrs. Chairman is installing Khun Ploy as the new CEO.”

Jessadaporn turned his stare to burn into Ploy. Ploy was in utter surprised and she reached for Grandma, “Grandma, what’s going on.”

Grandma turned to Ploy, “I disapprove the direction that Jessadaporn is taking UTB. Therefore, I see that you are most fit to handle the business.”

“Uh, I don’t--.”

Grandma held up her hand to stop Ploy, “Tell me, how would you sell the properties?”

Ploy saw that everyone’s eyes were on her. The bidders were emptying out of the reception and cursing that they will no longer do business with UTB because of their unprofessionalism. Ploy opened her mouth and recalled the information Dao had presented before and she generated her decisions, “First, we should present the downtown community center back as a gift to the underprivileged. We will install UTB to fund the center. This may not generate profit to us, but we have no charity foundation and we need the publicity boost. As for Hua Hin, we should sell it to the Sea World Researchers. Their offer of 20 million is little compare to these biddings, but it will boost our company initiative to be more eco friendly and we will qualify for a tax break. For the series of land over in the North, we should sell them to farmers instead of corporations who will clear the villages out. If this happen we will be criticize for dehumanization.”

Grandma let out an in-your-face-smile at Jessadaporn, “You hear that Khun Dao. The new CEO has spoken.”

Dao joined them and she nodded, “Yes, I will contact these agencies.”

“Oh, Khun Ton,” Grandma waved to the lawyer, “Give my grandson his notice.” Then she turned to Ploy, “That was great. Let’s go out to celebrate your new job.” Grandma grabbed Ploy and dragged her out before Ploy can say anything.

CHAPTER ELEVEN=======================================================================
(Je’s flat, Early Morning)
Jessadaporn chugged the scotch from the bottle. He still can’t forget why he was drowning himself. That Ploy. Morning was creeping in; he drank through the night. He looked at his Rolex to check the time. Then he notice the envelope Lawyer Ton had handed him. He took it out and opened the envelope to read the one sheet document inside. His vision was blurry, but he can still read the cursed words. Like he hasn’t drowned himself for the last 10 hours, he flew out ready to kill.
--
(Pholdee Residence)
Jessadaporn pulled into the opening driveway gate to intercept his Grandma’s car, and Grandma got out. She was just thinking how her grandson was so slow. He climbed out and held up the supposingly notice that turned out to be his Grandma’s newly revised will. “You gave everything to her? HER?” Jessadaporn crumbled the document.

“Yes. Is that all you are here to discuss about. I have scheduled a retreat to the south mountain temple to restore my energy, as I know Ploy will take good care of the bank and the house. You’re drunk. Go back to your place.”

“You trust her???” Jessadaporn pointed at his chest, “How about me your blood grandson that you denounce out of your will?”

“They’re my assets to give. What your parents left you; that’s enough for you to drink and sleep around for the rest of your life.”

“Yeah, but you gave her the real Pholdee’s assets—the house, the various properties, the heirlooms, and the whole Pholdee’s monetary savings. That’s everything. Everything that’s supposed to be mine!”

“She lives with me, takes care of me, and brings me happiness, not like you, my real grandson who’s a corrupt corporate ass in the daytime and a drunk and man whore in the night time. You’re on the societal column every day, and I have to live with your disgrace to the Pholdee name.” Grandma spoke evenly because she knew had the upper hand.

“Grandma, do you hear yourself? Don’t you see? This is exactly what Ploy wanted. What she came back for? Within the two months she was in rehab, UTB raised to the top. She knows that if come back to pamper you, then THIS will happened. And it did? Grandma, you’ve been fooled!”

“Jessada, if you want your birth right back, then return to me my loving grandson.”
He can detect the begging look in his Grandma. “This is the real me.” Jesssadaporn vowed, “I’ll show you her true colors.”

He walked back to his car and climbed in and drove out. He parked outside of the gate and watched in the rear mirror as his Grandma turned the corner. Then he backed his car in front of the gate. Jessadaporn pulled out his cell and dialed that number that Ploy had called his 1000 times the past two month trying to talk him. “Ploy, you wanted that chance to prove your sincerity, huh? Come out to meet me. I’m outside.”

A few minutes, Ploy exited the house and walked out. She opened the car door and entered to sit on the passenger seat. Jessadaporn look at her looking so beautiful in the morning. He threw the crumble will document at her. Ploy picked it up and flattened it out and as realize what it was, she looked at him, full of defense. “I don’t know about any of this.”

“Yeah, I bet you didn’t.” He stepped on the gas and drove off like a rocket.

“Where are we going?” He flew through a stop sign. She turned her door, but it didn’t open.

“I safety locked it.”

The whole warehouse incident flashed through her mind. He had vowed that he was going to finish what he started that day. “Jessadaporn, take me back right now!”

“Backing off already? You were so insistent to prove yourself. So I’m giving you the chance. Sit back and think of your counter plans because you can fool my grandma but never me. You’re such a pest to my life right now. I’m dying to know too how long you will keep insistently that you have innocent motive.”

Ploy looked right into his eyes, “And I also wonder how long you can hold your front. I’ll break down your walls, Je.” She closed her eyes and turned away. Ploy set her eyes on the head rest and took a nap to remedy her tiredness these past few days.
--
(Evening, Phuket)
Jessadaporn parked his car in front of the Pholdee’s private beach house. He looked at the still sleeping Ploy, and then climbed out to find the housekeeper to ditch her so they can be alone.

Minutes later, Ploy woke up to the sound of the sea, and then Jessadaporn came into her view and he opened the door to let her out, “You slept long enough.” He dragged her by her arm inside the cute beach house and threw her on the couch. Jessadaporn walked into the kitchen and started flipping through cupboards. Finally, he found what he was looking for.

Ploy watched him bring the duct tape over. “What are doing?”

“You’re mouth is iron. I’m just jump starting your confession. Jessadaporn sat beside her and grabbed her wrist and started to bond them. Ploy didn’t fight. After he finished, Jessadaporn asked her, “Are you hungry? I’m starving, that was a long drive.”

Ploy gave his a warm smile, “If you unbound me, I can cook us some dinner.”

“Yeah? To let you poison me. Nice try.” He pulled her onto her feet and looked outside to the setting sun. “Look, perfect timing. The tides are rising. It’ll be a perfect view for me to enjoy a meal, but I think it’s missing its highlight.” Jessadaporn pulled her out into the sea toward the high dock. Under the bridge, where there are wooden beam supports, he dragged her into the cold water.

“What are doing?”

He looked at her annoyed, “Let me set the record straight. We’re not here for a honeymoon. You said you welcome my challenge to test your innocence, well here’s your chance.” He took off his tie and used it to tie her to the beam. “Let’s see if you will still stand on that bullshit love claim in the morning.”

“You can’t leave me here. It’s dark and cold.”

“I’ll share you a secret. Don’t fall asleep; the tide can raise higher that you. Oh, and I hope you can hold your breath for a long time.” With that, he walked off. Ploy called after him, but she knew he wouldn’t answer her. Time passed and she couldn’t see him watching her in smiles as he slowly munched at his dinner. But a long time after, she noticed the lights go off in the house, and she cried in the dark, and the water got colder and she cannot see anything but pitch blackness as the water raise up to her armpit level. She called one last time into the dark, “Je, I’m scared.”

CHAPTER TWELVE======================================================================
(Early Next Morning)
Jessadaporn didn’t know why he couldn’t sleep and he thought her all night. Damn it. He climbed out of bed, pulled a navy boxer on and slided his bedroom door to the outside and walked out.

“Morning, don’t you love the singing seagulls and the beautiful weather?” He looked at her shivering and with dark circles under her eyes.

“You’re here for me.” Ploy smiled weakly. He walked to unbind her and dragged her out.

“Just didn’t want you to die yet.”

In the bedroom, Jessadaporn was conscious of how her wet clothes were clinging to her every curve. “Was that enough?” He took out his cell phone, “Call my Grandma and tell her the truth about you coming back to get steal the Pholdee’s wealth. And I’ll be nice and I’ll still offer that modest divorce settlement to get out of my life!”

“No.” Ploy was shivering and she said it softly.

“No?”

“NO.” Ploy said firmer.

“You think you can outlast me, huh?” He gave her an undressing head-to-toe look. “Take your clothes off.” His orders were final. “I said take your clothes off!” He grabbed her and started to rip her wet clothes off.

“Jessadaporn, I thought this was about us being alone to learn about one another, but your definition of a chance is torture!” Ploy screamed at him and pound at him.

His hands were at her jean buttons working then loose. “Don’t worry, this part you’ll like. You always like it rough.” He got the heavy jean to her hips and he stepped on one of the loose pant leg, then he lifted her onto his shoulder popping her out of her pant. Jessadaporn dumped her on the bed, “I’ll show you exactly how much I ‘love’ you.” He caged her in.

His teeth were biting on her breast and his nails were digging on her thighs spreading them apart. This weight on her was suffocating, “Je, please don’t hurt me. I can be willingly.”

He looked down at her, “So, you do have weakness?" His hand ripped her panty off. He nudged his hardness at her.

Ploy was scared out of her wit. She was scared of the thought that he would force her. He didn’t know that she have only made love two times and they were with him when he was gentle. “Je, you don’t want to do this.” She begged.

“This isn’t going romantic like you intended, huh?” He sat on her and lifted his boxer and brief down enough to let his erection free and settle between her. “I wonder if you’ll still utter those love claims to me if I rape you.”

“NOOOOO—.” His mouth claimed hers and he teased her entrance. Ploy pounded at him, and then she bit on his lower lip hard.

“Damn it!!!” Jessadaporn jumped off her and licked his bleeding lip. Ploy pushed him off and she climbed out of the bed. He caught her leg, and started luring her back. Ploy’s hands fell searching for an anchor. Her hands clasped around the lamp on the bed table and set held on to it like her lifeline. Her body failed to flight, so she swung the heavy lamp around to her attacker to fight.

THUD! Hard hit hard and she yelped as Jessadaporn knock out and fell dead on her. Slowly, she pushed him off.
--
His head hurts. He woke up to the music of waves, lying on a white soft bed. He opened his eyes to a beautiful but strangely scared-looking women leaning over him.

“Are you okay?” Ploy was ready for him to attack her for hitting him on his head, but he looked confuse.

“Who are you?”

Ploy didn’t know what card he was playing now, but she was stumped, “Ploy am sorry that I hit you.”

“Ploy, that’s a lovely name. How can something like you hit my head?” He sat up and leaned against the headboard shaking his head. He noticed that he was naked underneath the blanket. Then he looked at the beautiful women and she was in a mere long shirt. “Why did you hit me?” He saw the hesitation in her eyes, and he laughed, “Were we too rough?”

Ploy was taken aback by his laugh, “Are you okay?”

“Yes, I’m okay if I got a beauty you here. But outside of that, I can’t remember anything.”

“Are you playing me?”

“What is our relationship? Lovers? Wait, am I that lucky? You’re my wife, huh?”

“Jessadaporn, stop it. It’s not funny.”

“Jessadaporn, that’s a handsome name.”

Ploy narrowed her eyes at him, “Did I hit you that hard.” She sat on the bed side and reached for his bruised side forehead. “It’s a nasty bruise.”

Jessadaporn grabbed her hand and Ploy pulled her hand back, but he held it tight. “How was our relationship, my beautiful?” He swung her onto his lap.

Ploy looked into his eyes, and they were smiling. “You really can’t remember?” She pried his embrace off. “I’m going to go call Doctor Som.” Ploy climbed off him and the bed. She found his cell phone in his tossed pant. She found Doctor Som the family doctor’s number. “Hello, Doctor…”
--
“What did the doctor said?” Jessadaporn embraced her from behind. Ploy turned back and she pushed him away.

“Don’t.” Then she looked at him stark naked. Her eyes lingered at the long flesh nested under his triangle of dark hair. She held up her oil-covered spatula that she was frying bacon before when he hugged her. “Jessadaporn, put on some clothes.” She turned her back to him and gave her attention back to her frying bacon strips.

“Why? Don’t tell me I was modest with a sexy wife like you.” He looked down to check himself, “And I got the goodies to be proud of.” He hugged her again, but he was tight this time. He walked her to the kitchen counter. With a little lift, he sat her on the counter.

He was so close and she was at the same eye level as him. “Jessadaporn, the bacon is going to burn.”
His long arm reached to the stove and turned the heat off. “Okay, now you have no excuses.” He swooned in for her mouth. His kissed were passionate and fierce. “Ummm…yummy.” He drew out for a breathe and smiled at her.

Ploy pushed him, “Jessadaporn, Doctor Som said to let you rest so the temporary amnesia will past quicker. I called Grandma and said we’re making up and that there’s nothing to worry about. I also called the office to tell Khun Dao to handle the business for the next few days until you get your memory.”

Jessadaporn pouted, “I don’t want to rest like a sick child. I’ll totally healthy, and I can prove that to you. I say let’s take advantage of this temporary memory lost to spice up our love life.” Ploy blushed. His was the boyish Jessadaporn she fell in love with. “You’re blushing. How long have we been marry?” He poked at her playfully.

Ploy couldn’t help but smile. This was truly a blessing. Ploy let out a happy laugh, “Five years.”

“Five? And you’re still blushing? Was I a good husband?”

Ploy’s hand stroked the scabbed lower lip that she had bitten. “Yes, you’re the prefect husband. You’re just a tiger at times.”

Jessadaporn chuckled, “Yeah?” He licked the sore bit on his lips, “I must have been a jerk for you to smack me. You must have bit me too, huh?”

Ploy broke out laughing, “Yes, you’re such an ass hole. I should’ve hit you harder.”

Jessadaporn folded his arm around his bare muscled chest and stepped back, “Well, maybe because you’re hot. What did I do to get you?” He leaned in for her, but Ploy was faster and jumped off the counter and ran off through the open door to the distance.

Ploy yelled at him from the shore, “You wouldn’t run out here to get me!”

Jessadaporn watched her cutely stuck out her tongue at him. “You bet? You better run because if I catch you, then I’m going to have my ways with you!” He ran out not giving a care that he was in his birthday suit. Ploy let out a girlish shrill. He tackled her easy and landed on top of her.

“Je, this is crazy. It’s daytime.”

“But that’s the thrill. It’ll be like a first time.” Jessadaporn tucked her hair behind her ear. “Tell me you don’t feel this electricity. My hairs are all standing up.” He got off her, and stood up only to hold his hand out to her. Ploy meekly took his hand. Jessadaporn held her hand tight and he danced and shook his butt at her.

Ploy brought her other hand to cover her eyes, “I can’t see anything.”

Jessadaporn chuckled at his blushing wife.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN=====================================================================
There was some decency in this amnesic Jessadaporn. He came back showered and dressed in a short and white undershirt. “What’s for dinner?”

Ploy had to trashed the over crispy bacon and started on dinner. “Seafood stir-fry and tom yum goong.” She poured cold water onto the two cup. “I’m just waiting on tom yum goong to boil.”

“Then I’ll watch the soup and set the table, you go wash up, okay?” Jessadaporn grabbed her shoulder and pushed her toward the bedroom.

Ploy looked at him ogling her butt, “Jessadaporn!”

“Sorry!” He let go of her and turned away.
--
Seven minutes later, she was back in another fresh long shirt with towel dried hair. Ploy was surprised at the light darkening so quickly. And she gasped at the candles on the dinner table outside in the patio. Jessadaporn pulled the chair out for her. They sat across from each other mesmerize in the moment like a couple on their first date.

“Hi stranger.”

Ploy smiled, “Hi, my name is Ploy Boonyasak.”

“Nice to meet you. My name is Jessadaporn—what’s my last name?”

“Pholdee.”

“My name is Jessadaporn Pholdee. So? What’s your first impression of me?”

Ploy anchored her elbows on the table and placed her chin on her palm. “The first time I saw you; you had a halo. I was just standing there camaflouge among the others, you gave a smile straight at me, maybe it wasn’t meant for me, but that smile was all it took.”

Jessadaporn smiled slow and wide for her, “Like this?” Ploy let out a laugh, but tears flew down her cheeks. Jessadaporn reached over and wipe her tears, “Why are you crying?”

Ploy smiled and placed her hand on top of his and held it there, “This is like the first time.”

“I’m starving—Ops, is that too unromantic. Sorry, everything smells so good.” He dished them rice and they started to eat.

“No. There’s nothing about you I don’t like.”

“Nothing? Really? I don’t snore or fart or lay around being a stump.”

“Nope.”

“No?” Jessadaporn ate loudly and slurped the soup. He looked at her and raised his brows, “Oh, but really? What were we doing here?” Ploy hesitated. Jessadaporn can see the seriousness in her face, “Are we not doing so well?”

Ploy smiled, “We have been through a lot. But we were going to work everything out here. So…so this was like our second honeymoon.” Jessadaporn started to eat very fast. “Wow, slow down a bit, what’s the hurry?”

He gave her a crooked grin, “You said this was our second honeymoon. I wanted to eat up and…” He let the sentence go unfinished then paused to look at her, “Am I good in bed?” Ploy choked on her tom yum goong. He laughed. “You’re blushing again.” He spooned some stir-fry up to her, “Here, let me feed you, since you’re eating so slow. At your pace, I’ll going to have sit here hiding my hard on like a teenager for hours.” Ploy laughed very loud. She had never dated anyone before nor has anyone pursued her—the dorky quiet girly. And she was feeling very warm and jittery. The man she had loved one-sided for years is outrageously hitting her. This was her dream come true. Ploy opened her mouth to eat the food his spoon offered. “Yummy?” Ploy nodded shyly. “Are you choking? Your face is all red?” He teased her and watched her turned even redder.
--
Jessadaporn carried her to the bed and place her softly on the covers. He kneeled on the bed and looked at her then survey the bedroom, “So do I usually wear condoms?”

Ploy sat up, “No.” Those two times he didn’t.

“No?” He smiled deviously, “I think I like my life.” He jumped on her and purposely put all of his weight on her. “You feel that.” He nudged his hardness at her belly. He kissed her, slow and wet. Ploy held him and he kissed him.

He unbuttoned her shirt and she lifted his undershirt off, and slowly they were naked—skin to skin. His touch was light as feather, but they were burning her. Their limbs were tangled and their slow foreplay turned carnal like two lovers experiencing the physical pleasure for the first time. Jessadaporn looked into eyes, “You’re beautiful.”

Ploy looked back at him and arched her back to get closer to him, “Enough talk.”

He entered her and her muscled hugged him tight. “Do we not do this often, you’re tight?”

If only he knew that she was inexperienced. Ploy kissed his chest and played with his little nipple, “No,” She held him close, “You’re just big.”

Jessadaporned let out a chuckle, “I’m feeling very horny right now.” He pulled and entered her again, then he pushed, and he looked down at her annoyed, “Can you stop squeezing me?”

Ploy pouted, “I can’t help it. You don’t like it?”

“I like it, but I’m horny. I want to go fast.” He kissed her, “Wrap your legs around me.” He guided her legs to link around him, “I don’t know about how we were before, but I want to create this moment between us, so that when I remember, we can add this to our memories.” They moved together like a hot lava tsunami and after the climax, they snuggled and explored each other through the night.
--
(Next Morning)
“Je, don’t. I’m tired.” Ploy felt him climbed on top of her. She opened her eyes to the light of late morning and Jessadaporn kissing her face. She pushed him, “You’re a jerk. You wouldn’t let me rest last night at all.” Jessadaporn frowned and nudge his erection at her.

“Your naughty butt kept moving evocatively on my poor man. You woke him up.” Ploy looked at him puppy eyes her. Slowly the smile crawled on her face, “That’s a yes, right?” He didn’t wait as he started to excite her and they made love to the music of seagulls.

Half an hour later, Jessadaporn was showered and walked over to the bed and watch his wife sleeping. He stroked her tangled and kissed her forehead. “I’m going to go cook us some food.”

One and a half hour later, Jessadaporn was done with their late brunch and he entered the room and he jumped on the bed and cuddled Ploy’s small body. “Wakie, wakie, my blushing bride.”

Ploy turned to him and opened her eyes reluctantly. “Stop hugging me or you’re going to blame me again for waking up your man again.”

Jesadaporn chuckled, “You’re right.” He released her and brought the blanket to cover her breasts, “Better cover up too or you’re never going anywhere but this bed.” He gave her a peck on her cheek, “Shower up and let’s go eat.”

Ploy sniffed the air, “I’m starving.” Then she realized what she had said out loud and what it applied and she blushed. Then Ploy reached for the loose sheets to wrap around her and she walked to the bathroom.

He was used to her apparent modesty and he smiled looking at the twisted sheets. Memories of last night made his smile wider and he started to pick up the room and make the bed.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN===================================================================
“You made this?” Ploy looked at the Kao Tum.

Jessadaporn turned to her. She was only wearing his thin long undershirt and he can see her. “Are you purposely trying to drive me crazy?”

Ploy looked down at herself, “Well, you dragged me here so abruptly, I don’t even have a baggage. It’s your fault.”

“Oh, it’s my fault now, huh? I don’t think I can chew and look at you at the same time and not choke”

Ploy puffed her chest. “Then who was it yesterday who was wearing his birthday suit.” She bravely sat on the chair and started to eat.

Jessadaporn joined her, “Suddenly bold now, huh? Really, you’re punishing me.” She stared at him looking seriously piss, then he smile strangely. Then he stood up and unbuttoned his blue flowered beach shirt.

Ploy quickly covered her eyes, “Jessadaporn! I’m eating!”

“I’m just giving you a show.”

She opened her eyes, “You better keep your shorts on.”

“Okay, I will if you wear this shirt over your obvious method to distract me. You’re blushing up and down, left and right, but I bet you secretly want to tease me.”

Ploy pouted and challenged him, “I so do not!”

“Okay, then put it on.” He handed his shirt to her.

Ploy put it on and stared at him. “Now are you satisfied?”

Jessadaporn sat down and started to eat, “Yeap!” He started to hymn Ice’s song Yah Leh Tua. Ploy threw him an ugly look. Jessadaporn smiled the smile that she said she fell in love with, “I’m just being a gentleman. You’re coming so strong on me. I got to put up some boundaries or we are seriously going to be wild chimpanzees.” Both of them caught the silliness in their argument and they broke out in laughter.

“I am not a chimpanzee.”

“No? Then who wanted doggy style last night?”

Ploy threw the pepper shaker at his proud laughing chest. “I can’t believe you just said that!”

“I can’t believe you thought that mere undershirt was clothing?”

Ploy stared at him, “You keep teasing me about my blushing, so I braved up to get at you.”

“I like you when you blush.” He raised his brows teasingly. “But can we keep covered long enough to eat and get our strength and enjoy the day without me thinking about taking you.”

Ploy smiled and nodded, “Let’s go swimming, make sand castles, go seashell hunting and--.”

“I am not going to go do those childish and girlish things with you.”

“Then I’m not going to do those adult chimpanzee things with you.” Ploy watched him frowned, then again, they broke out laughing.
--
(Night)
The sun was setting and they were enjoying a light dinner picnic on the cool sand. Jessadaporn felt a flash in his head, and a series of memories came to him. Ploy set her orange juice down and watched him concerned. “Are you okay?”

Slowly Jessadaporn nodded and then a few minutes later he spoke, “Yeah, I just remember who I am.” He looked at her, “No wonder I got you. I’m a pretty cool guy.”

Ploy looked worried, “What do you remember?”

“It’s as if I never forgotten them, I have it all. Look, I’m recalling my 15th birthday—the last one with my parents before they died in their unfortunate car accident. They brought me a car. And my father gave me a--.” Jessadaporned looked at Ploy then laughed, “He sneaked a second present to me. It turned out to be a whole nine yards sex instructional tape.”

Ploy opened her mouth, “You father gave you a porn video for your 15th birthday!”

Jessadaporn laughed at her widen eyes, “I can’t remember you yet. So you mentioned how you fell in love with me the first time I smiled at you. How did we meet?”

Ploy maintained her smiled and recounted him the story of Ploy’s and his first meeting, “I remember that night. You were celebrating a new contract. We meet at a club and we drank and we danced and we left together. And we got married a few months afterward.”

“That fast? We must have chemistry like right now.” He leaned over and kissed her full of desire. Slowly, he dissolved that dreadful feeling from her and soon, they were tangled on the small picnic blanket stirring up a fire.
--
(Next Morning)
The sun was burning their naked skin. Ploy woke up and poked at Jessadaporn. They were naked lying on the white sand with the picnic cloth as their blanket. She had sand stuck all over her and sand grains imprinted on her side that she slept on. “Je, wake up, your butt is going to get sunburned.”

Jessadaporn stirred lazily, “I let you slept in last morning. It was your fault last night; you kept wanting to be on top.” He opened his eyes but narrowed because the light was blinding him.

“If you wake up, we can experiment in the sea.”

Just like that, he sat up and rubbed his eyes. He looked all darkly handsome with shaggy hair and his poking through facial hair. He was suddenly all energized. He stared at her naked flawless body imprinted with his love marks. “I’m awake.”

Ploy stood up and walked into the warm sea. Jessadaporn ran in after her. They ended up laughing and chasing each other to indulge in their passion with the waves imitating their movements.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN======================================================================
(Two Days Later, Morning)
“Are you feeling okay?” He stoked her back, concerned at her throwing up. She’s been doing that a lot.

Ploy rinsed her mouth, “Yeah.” She took the Kleenex that Jessadaporn held out to her and wiped her mouth.

Jessadaporn looked at her like he just figured out a secret. He folded arm and stood very macholy in front of her, “If I can remember the times we have made love, I would say you’re pregnant.”

Her brain registered the word and slowly, she looked at Jessadaporn like he was God giving her a revelation. Ploy jumped and hugged Jessadaporn.

He laughed, knowing what her actions meant. “So, how many months?” Ploy broke the embrace and full of smiles she knew exactly when. “5 weeks.”

Jessadaporn walked her out of the bathroom and lead her to sit on the bed, “I’m going to call Grandma and tell her the good news. And we should get you to a doctor for a checkup.” He froze for a while, just looking at her. He hugged her again, “I can’t believe I’m a dad.” He felt a proud balloon inflating inside of him, expanding. Ploy couldn’t help it, but tears were falling. Jessadaporn cuddled her and swiped her tears, “I love you.”

Ploy’s heart exploded. In the last four days since his amnesia, everyday have passed so fast and she have completely given her life to him and he did too. She stared at him, and she cried harder and choked out, “Say that again.”

He held her right in front of him. “I love you Ploy.” Her heart sank, and this time her happy tears turned to heartbroken ones. If only, he can said those words to Usamanee. “Don’t cry.”

Ploy cried on his chest and clung to him, “Je, I love you.”

Those words brought a strange bolt of lightning through him, and it brought back to him the remaining series of heartbreaking memories in his life. Suddenly, he realized what the last few days was. Jessadaporn quickly pushed her away. He growled in anger at her, “Don’t dare utter those cunning words to me!!!”

Ploy was shocked at his sudden change of attitude. She reached for him, but he shook her off. “I remembered everything, Ploy. How can you let me--?” He grabbed her. “Fuck. You screwed me over again. You must have got a kick out of it with me just confessing those 3 words to you. I can’t believe I fell victim to you again. You took advantage of my memory lost and condition me to love you. You even think you can trap me with this bullshit made up story of you being pregnant?”

Ploy looked into his eyes, “I knew that you would get your memory back, but I thought that what we had the last few days can prove to you that I’ve changed. Tell me that you do not love me right now.” Ploy shook him, “Tell me!”

Jessadaporn opened his mouth, but he failed to produce those words. He just shut his mouth and he shook her back and he looked at her flat stomach. “I applaud at the length you went this time.” He shook his head, “But the last few days only proved one thing—and that is time you’re even more cunning than before. This time you even fashioned up a pregnancy when we both know best that you had a hysterectomy.”

All of the color washed off Ploy’s face. She was at a roadblock. This new piece of information is going to blow her covers. “Ploy can’t ever be pregnant.” She slowly stated the fact to herself.

“Yes, you hated your period, because they conflict with your career and you never had any plans for a family. You made those two points very clear after the marriage. You went on ahead and only told me after there was nothing to reverse it! You broke my heart, but you said that child or no child, if I truly love you, it doesn’t matter.” He twisted her arm, “You’re selfish.” He had that killer look in his eyes again. Jessadaporn threw her on the bed and quickly caged her.

Ploy hit him. This can’t happen. “Je. You can’t do this to me. Please! I BEG YOU!!!”

Jessadaporn quickly ripped the one shirt she was wearing off and he had her at his access. “Let’s continue where we left off.”

Ploy pushed at his chest. “OKAY! You want the divorce. I’ll do whatever you want.” Jessadaporn looked at her, not trusting her. “Just don’t hurt me.” Her hand stroked her tummy, but she quickly covered her movement by pulling her ripped shirt around her. Jessadaporn climbed off her and she sat up, “You want me to tell Grandma of my money hunger or me out of your life. I will do it.”

He narrowed his eyes at her. This was too easy. “Something’s up. You got to be plotting another plan?”

Ploy clenched her shirt tails closer at her belly. She needed to think fast. “I came back because I knew United Thai Bank’s values increased. Even if I worked my whole life, I won’t have a fraction of its worth. So I regretted you. I thought I can come back to make up with you, but you changed too much, so I used Grandma. Then at the moment Grandma named me CEO, I was going to cash out, but then she gave all the Pholdee assets to me too. So decided to stay long enough to wait her death then cash out in one shot, but you…you caught me and took me here instead.” She looked at him. He seemed satisfied with her confession.

Ploy played the last card, “I will go if you give 500 million US dollars.”

“That’s a big chunk, Ploy.”

Right now, she has to walk off safely with her baby. She had to be credible, if she just walked off not demanding anything, he would be suspicious. “It’s nothing compare to what I will get if I wait out to cash out at the end.”

“You’ve been so consistent, sticking up for your I-have-changed-and-here-to-make-amends-story, why is it so easy? I don’t trust you.”

Ploy looked at him and screamed in frustration, “I can’t stand seeing you or living this stupid life with your grandma. She’s so strong. Do I have to wait 1 year, 5 year, or 10 years for her to die? I will be tied down on faking to care for her and I’ll be old. What’s the money worth then? If I cash out now, I can get back on the market rich already with no need to work. I’ll grab famous flings and get the lifestyle I desire.”

“At the end, your true colors have shown.” He looked at her, “500 million. You’re right. That’s nothing to me.”

Ploy let out a relief breathe. “You’re smart, Jessadaporn. You know I’m settling for a bargain.”
Jessadaporn grabbed her off the bed, “Let’s settle this with lawyers before you change your mind.” He pulled out his smallest short and one of his plain grey jogging shirt to her, “Dress up, we’re going right now.”

CHAPTER SIXTEEN======================================================================
She held fumbled with her hands sitting on her lap, but in reality, she was self-consciously stroking her tummy. “Jessadaporn, can you drive more carefully?”

He looked at her in annoyance, “Want me to drive slowly, so you can have the time to think of a way out.”

“No! Can you please play attention to road please! I don’t want to get in a car accident.”

“Don’t want to die before you can celebrate your 500 million?” He slowed down, “I’ll slow down. It doesn’t make a difference. We’re only going into the city. I had Lawyer Ton fly over in the company copter with the paperwork. We’ll be there in 10 minutes.”

They entered the bank branch in Phuket and everyone was greeting Jessadaporn and Ploy. “Where’s lawyer Ton?”

“In your office, Sir.” Jessadaporn looked at Ploy at his side, he grabbed her hand. “I don’t want you going missing.” They climbed into the elevator and headed up to the top floor.

Lawyer Ton was waiting in the office. “Hello, Lawyer Ton.”

“Hello, Khun Jessadaporn.” He turned to Ploy, “Khun Ploy.”

Jessadaporn sat on the single couch and face the lawyer. “Ploy has settled to divorce.”

Ploy meekly sat on the couch opposite the lawyer. “Khun Ploy, is this true?”

She felt Jessadaporn stare her down, “Yes, Jessadaporn and I have been talking, and we have some to a consensus.” She looked at Jessadaporn looking at her grimly, “I asked for a 500 million settlement, and Khun Jessadaporn has agreed.”

“He didn’t threaten you or anything?”

“No. We talked.”

Jessadaporn added, “I described the provision to you already. Did you revise the divorce papers?”

“Yes, Khun Jessadaporn. Upon divorcing and Khun Ploy’s signature enclosure and her acceptance of her settlement, she cannot demand any future assets from you.”

“Ploy, tell Lawyer Tom about your withdrawal.”

Ploy wanted to get out of there. She felt like every second she was in Jessadaporn’s presence, he can detect her fear and see through her to his baby that growing inside of her. “I am withdrawing from the title Grandma bestowed on me as the CEO of United Thai Bank and I think she will figured that I got out of this with 500 million.”

“Yes,” Jessadaporn told the lawyer, “And she’ll see you in the societal column smooching your settlement and circulating the man crowd. In a heartbeat, she’ll give everything back to me.”

The lawyer looked at them. He addressed Jessadaporn, “Doctor Som said Khun Ploy called to say you had some slight memory loss, are you consciously making these calls?”

“Yes.” Jessadaporn sated firmly.

“I’m just asking, because your Grandma was happy at home, calling me to set a trust fund for her great grandson, announcing that out this trip away, Khun Ploy will return with child. You’re not pregnant, right Khun Ploy, because that will change everything?”

All of the oxygen in her swooshed out, and she felt lighted headed, but she responded, “I--. No.” She simply sated, but she felt like it was the fattest lie she ever gave.

“That’s matter is impossible. Then everything is settled.” Lawyer Ton handed the documents to Jessadaporn. He signed and he passed the papers to Ploy. Ploy signed quickly and she looked up at Jessadaporn. He looked at her with a triumph smile, “I’ll transfer the money to your bank account.”

Ploy looked at him, lost for words. “I trust you.” She can’t believe hat at the end, she failed to bring her Jessadaporn back. But she couldn’t risk him finding her out. He’ll hate her even more. He’ll break the sky down to find her identity. And he’ll even slump lower to be colder and worst. This was the right decision. Walk out right now. Save her cover. Save him the further coldness. At the least, she gets the few days of memories to keep and also gets a little piece of him to keep. Maybe they were not meant to be, but no matter what, their baby was meant to happen. A sad smile spread across her face. Today she was going to walk away from the only person she have ever love, but she will gain a person that she will shower with the love that she felt for the one she lost.

Ploy held the papers to Jessadaporn, She can at least send her message that he never gave her a chance to say to him in this last moment. “I want to ask that you move back home. Grandma waits for you every day. And being number one in business cannot be measure in profit. There’s no point of you making a dollar, if you take a hundred homes from the poor, kill a thousand in the process, or bulldoze over a million dreams. The Jessadaporn I know is intelligent, laughs openly, and strives to make the world a better place.”

Ploy held out her chin and walked out and she raced into elevator and she stroked her tummy in admiration, “Je, this is all I want.”
--
(Next Day)
“You divorced Nu Ploy?” Grandma was outrage as his rashly grandson, “She called to say you guys were making up. She was lying to cover up for your ass, huh? What did you do to her to get her to agree to the divorce?”

“Grandma, why do you jump to the conclusion that I did something bad?”

“Well did you not?”

“She was stubborn sticking to her bullshit story! I had to get the truth out of her!” Grandma slapped her grandson for the first time.

“You’re a cold bastard. My grandson will never hurt anyone. Don’t you know that Nu Ploy was pregnant?!!”

Jessadaporn can’t believe his Grandma had just strike him, “She pulled that fast move on you too. Yeah, before I got my memory back, she was acting all tired and dizzy. She even dared tell me she was pregnant. What an actress? I feel for her morning sickness.”

Grandma looked at him, “I don’t know why you can’t see that Nu Ploy has changed. You want evidence. I’ll tell you the proof. She found out she was pregnant with your child. Then you slap her in the face and ask for a divorce. If she was pulling a fast move, she would’ve demand for more than the 500 million because she had your child. She could’ve tied you right there. But nooooo. She doesn’t not give a voice to her condition and she agreed so quick to your agreement because you know that you’re hopeless to bring around.”

Jessadaporn laughed, “You got quite an imagination Grandma. But you don’t know her darkest secret. She had a hysterectomy right after our marriage; she’s can’t ever be pregnant.”

Something conflicting crossed Grandma’s face. “But the doctored told me that time you stabbed her. I saw her blood test with my own eyes. The resulted stated pregnant. And blood test doesn’t lie.” Grandma looked at him, “I got a copy right here.” She walked over to her study and opened a drawer and handed the results to Jessadaporn.

Jessadaporn was ready to get a look at the fake documents. But they were dated, signed, and certified lab test. He saw the high report of estrogen and progesterone concluding in a statement that the patient is pregnant. He looked at his grandma. “Ploy isn’t blood type AB.” He felt his whole world flip upside down.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN===================================================================
(Je’s Car, on the road)
Jessadaporn growled in urgency into his phone, “I want the DNA run and compared for an identity match.” He hung up. He had just made a 20 million donation to the hospital to get them to give first priority to his request.

Jessadaporn called again at the number for Ploy. But he got the same message that the phone no longer exist. Then he decided to call her ex-Agent Jane.

“Hello, Khun Jessadaporn.”

“Hi. Jane. I’m trying to get in contact with Ploy for her to pick up her belongings.”

“She mentioned that you two are finally going your own ways. I was actually hoping that she can win you over, but I suppose it didn’t work out. Yes, she gave me a called late last night. She said that she wanted to hired be to be the director of her Foundation. She even wired me the money she received from her selling her clothe line. Can you believe her, she settled for 7 million less because, she rather sell it to the Green Clothes Brand. But what is weird is that the amount turned out to be 500 million more.”

He didn’t need to hear anymore, “Did she call from her number?”

“Yes.”

“Okay, thank you, Jane. Can you please call me back if she contacts you again? It’s important.” Jessadaporn hung up and then dialed for United Thai Bank.

“Hi, Khun Jeed.”

“Hello Khun Jessadaporn.”

“Can you check Ploy’s account?”

After some quick tapping, “She closed her account this morning at the south branch along with all associated cards.”

“What was her last account activity?”

“There’s not a lot of activity. Some store purchases. A 9.4 million from Green Clothe Brand. 500 million from you. Then all amount was transferred to a…a Foundation except for 675,340.34 that she transfer to one of those no account debit card. Oh, and there’s a 1356.98 plane ticket for Air France.”

“Thanks Khun Jeed.” What the heck 675,340.34 was such an absurd and exact amount. What did you plan to use the money for and a plane ticket? He knew it in his heart, that he was too late. Jessadaporn climbed out of his car sitting in traffic in the middle of a bridge and he walked out into rail. Then he tilted his head back to cry and look at the plane that flew overhead him.

Then his phone rang and he picked up the hospital lab call and he got the news he was waiting for. All he needed to hear was a confirmation the name what was invading his heart. His heart was hurting so much. He hung up and the named echoed in his heart. This worst fear was right. Usamanee Vatayuanun. He stood there dead to the world. Four monthly ago, he stood on his same spot. Feeling the same pain in his heart with the same name echoing in his heart.

He had told her he didn’t want to see her face again. And as he was driving to the airport and the distant between them grew, his thoughts of asking Ploy to forgive him turned into the picture of him asking Usamanee to forgive him instead. Then images flashed his head. Of the times she picked up his dry clean or ordered his lunch or put on that smile of her to cheer him up. He had stepped on the brake and turned his car around. But back at his flat, he only found emptiness and her blood stain on his bed sheets. And he drove around, searching for her to only end up on the bridge and letting the rain beat some sense into him. And then the dreadful phone call came. “Khun Pholdee, I’m calling to inform you that your wife Ploy Boonyasak has been involved in an airplane accident, but fortunately, she is alive.”

He had driven to the hospital. As the doctors and nurses tend to his Ploy, he heard the news report clattering and naming the victims. The name Usamanee Vatayanun stole the beat from his heart and he raced to the hospital reception.

“Where are the burnt victims of the crash?” He looked at the nurse, “My—my lover is…” He broke out into tears. He can’t believe her dead. He went to the morgue and he looked at her charred body. He found out that she was an orphan and he buried her in a nice plot in the countryside. For the next two month, he only thought about how he had overlooked her. He drank a lot and he hated Ploy for being alive. It was her fault that Usamanee was dead. He hated Ploy, and he let that hatred eat him.

Arghhhhhhh!!!” Jessadaporn let out his damn frustration. Everything was falling into pieces. The doctor had told him that she was rebellious with the facial reconstruction surgery. And right afterwards, she had come to him to confess that she was not Ploy. But he didn’t believe. He clenched his fist. What the heck was Usamanee thinking was taking Ploy’s identity. Inside of him, he knew the answer. It was the answer she provided to him all those times—that she have changed and she loved him. Everything made sense. She formally quite her career, started a charity foundation, asked him for another chance, moved in with his Grandma, won over everyone, presented a genuine selling plan, and all those smiles that she put on to get to him, she was Usamanee.

His heart was hurting. She failed so badly at being Ploy. He remembered the face on her when he declared that Ploy had a hysterectomy. Grandma was right, Usamanee just found out she was pregnant, but can’t ever be in Ploy’s identify, and she did jumped so fast to divorce. The 500 million was just a move to show how smart that girl was. And he remembered her blushes and her awkwardness in their love-making. The flashback of her jumping up in happiness to hug him, as he suggested she was pregnant. She told him the right to the weeks. He wanted to kick himself. He can’t believe she had said he was ‘big’ to cover up her innocence. He let the realization hit him; he had truly fallen for her, even with her front as Ploy. He wished himself dead. Again she was right in front of him, and he didn’t see her.

He didn’t know how he can crack a laugh at his time. But that’s what she can do him. Her last words echoed to him. Traffic was moving, and cars were honking in anger to his ignorance of leaving his car in the middle of the street. But he saw her sad smile at him. I want to ask that you move back home. Grandma waits for you every day. And being number one in business cannot be measure in profit. There’s no point of you making a dollar, if you take a hundred homes from the poor, kill a thousand in the process, or bulldoze over a million dreams. The Jessadaporn I know is intelligent, laughs openly, and strives to make the world a better place.

So, is this what you call love? He had never felt like this. A millions emotions overwhelmed him. And he knew that one day, they’ll surely meet again, and he’ll strap her to his waist to be his forever, but for now, he had to be the best man waiting for her.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN=====================================================================
(5 years later)
“Kru Usa. My mother asked if you can drop by our house to translate this jargon letter we got yesterday.”

She smiled at her best student Ceewat, “I’ll come around after I pick up Win.”

“Thank you, Kru.” Then he hopped off to join his buddies walking into the open green lush of rice fields that lined all the way to touch the horizon. She loved this place, her home. Her parents had died, but everyone in the countryside town took care of her. She was the star of the little town as she won a scholarship to study in the big city as the first to go to college.

No one knew this about her; they had no birth certificate or any official documentation. Everything about her only started to have official documents when she went off to college. It was easy, coming back to a place that was still pristine. No media news can breached this place, and she was able to come back after she did a facial reconstruction back to her own self in France. It was as if she never died. She returned here, where she gave birth to her chubby, cute son. Her heart jumped, she misses him. Usamanee quickly erased the grammatical English sentences on the chalkboard. Her baby was waiting for her.

She carried her briefcase and walked down the dirt road hymning and greeting the passing villagers on the way. From a few houses back, she heard her son laughing, and she quicken her steps.

“Win!” She opened her arms to him, and he quickly ran into her.

“Mommy.” The 4 year old Jessawin clapped his hands energetically. “Guess what Grandpa made me?” He shook her arm, “Guess, Mommy.”

Usamanee laughed, “You’re awfully hyper. Don’t tell me Grandpa made you those sweet candies again?”

He shook his head as his longish black hair swing in play. “No.”

“No? Then Mommy’s at lost.” She knew her son liked to tell her of his adventures.

He blew out a cute puff of air, “Grandpa made me a horseplay stick.” He walked over to the porch and waved the stick with a woven horse head at one end and brought it to her. “See. I saw Lom had one his daddy made him.” Then just like that, Win clamped up and looked silently at his mom.

Usamanee patted his head, “Come on, go grab your jacket. We’re going to stop at Auntie Juang’s house.” Little Win ran into the house. Usamanee walked to the old couple that raised her. “Grandpa, thank you for chiseling and weaving him that horse stick. I saw him at sharing one with the Khun Tong’s kid. I knew he wanted his own one, but he never asks for anything.”

Grandma waved her thank you away, “Usa, this old stump need to make use of his existence. You’re going to Juang’s place?”

“Yes, she got a letter that needs calcification.” Win laughed and ran out of the house mounted on the stick and started to ride in the yard.

“Tell her that I’m proud of that son Ceewat of her. He’s following your footsteps, going out and making a name for our village.”

“Yes.”

Grandma tilted his head to the racing Win. “You better get him to a shower.”

Usamanee laughed, “He thinks that dirt on his clothes and face is manly. I’m going to get going before it gets any darker. Granny, stay warm.” She walked to her son and held out her hand, “Come on you super knight.” They trotted away in laughter.
--
Usamanee’s face lighted up. She looked at Juang and her husband Chai—who is the head of the village. “P’Juang, P’Chai. We got the proposal!”

Chai looked to his wife, “Usa, what does it say?”

“There are a lot of technical words, but it says our proposal was reviewed and granted. We are going to get a water pipe constructed from the river to our selection of locations. A paved road to the main one and a new school house. The 1000 Paper Crane Foundation will bring a representative, and they’re going to start shipping material and begin building next week.”

Her Student Ceewat looked at his parents. “I can’t believe your proposal was granted. We tried for years before to get the government or any agency to get a road there.”

Chai nodded this head. “We thank you for writing the proposal.”

Little Win who was eating a popsicle sitting next to Juang addressed Chai, “Uncle Chai, Mommy wrote that paper for days. She can make them build a gold temple here if she wanted too.”

Everyone cracked out laughing. Usamanee asked her little son, “When did you understand pipes, pave roads, proposals, and foundations? These days you pick up on things way too quick.”

Chai patted Win’s little head, “Bright like your mom, huh?”

“P’Juang. I’lll take my leave now. That little knight needs to bathe.”
--
She liked this part the best, when her knight was sleeping by her side. She kissed his shampooed hair and closed her eyes feeling content. Then she felt her baby turned and sat. Usamanee opened her eyes and sat up too. “I thought you were asleep.”

She knew that child were bad at hiding their emotions and she felt that her baby was had troubling thoughts. “Mommy, it’s okay to cry.”

She didn’t know what her knight was saying, “Win, what are you talking about?”

“You cry sometimes, when you think I’m asleep, like last night.” She hugged her baby tight.

“Jeesawin...” She patted him. “Sometimes, in the middle of the night, I wake up and you’re just so precious that I think about how you’re growing up to be like your Daddy. And it makes Mommy sad and happy.”

She felt the interest in him pike, but he didn’t probe her. “Mommy, I love you.” He swiped his mommy’s tears.

CHAPTER NINETEEN====================================================================
(Two Week Later)
Everyone in the village putted on their best clothes. Headman Chai’s house was decorated with colorful flags and there was a celebratory and exciting tone in the air. One of the workers from the Foundation that have been here for week now announced, “I just talked to the director, and she said that she and the founder has just entered the dirt road to the village. So it’ll be a few minutes.”
Chai raise up his hand, “Let’s show them that village is the heart of humanity.” The sound of traditional music started to play and everyone crowded around the road, waiting to get a peak of this kind billionaire that approved their proposal and has traveled the distance to visit their village.

The mud on the wheels did not hide the expensive aura on the shiny Land Rover. The villagers grasp and talked in anticipation, as the car stopped in front of the crowd. Then the door opened and a middle age women dressed for the warm countryside weather stepped out wearing a wore-out hat that blocked a part of her face. The driver’s door side opened, but the tall Land Rover blocked the figure. “This is Khun Janita Yosawan, the Director…and this is…”

Jane? Everything around her froze. Then the name Jessadaporn Pholdee rung in her ears. Then she heard nothing, and can only see that smile on his face as he rounded the front of the car and waied the crowd looking handsome and comfortable in a loose dark green shirt and a khaki cargo short. And it was like de ja vu, as he surveyed the crowd and he stopped and looked right at her. And it was just like the first time. He smiled at her and he sparkled and she was doomed.

“Usa.” Usamanee realized that Juang was calling her, “Aren’t you going to give him the welcome bouquet.”

Ceewat had already walked up to Jane and presented her the flowers. Usamanee looked at Jessadaporn wearing a halo, thinking that here was nothing to be afraid of; to him, she was dead. She needed to keep her calm and then find her baby and get him far away as possible from Jessadaporn. Usamanee told her feet to walk over.

“Hello, welcome to Sawan Namthai.” His stare was like he was x-raying her.

“You’re the one who wrote the intelligent proposal on the village behalf?” Jane held out her hand. “I was touched by your request.”

Usamanee was glad for the distraction, “Yes, thank you.” She shook Jane’s hand and smiled. “Enjoy your stay; this is Ceewat’s parents Khun Juang and Chai who is the Headman. Don’t hesitant to ask for anything. We want your stay to be comfortable to thank you for helping our village.” She turned to Juang, “I’m going to go find Win.”

Usamanee walked out of there, holding her breathe. And she searched the yard that the kids were running around. She found Lom—Je’s best friend. “Lom, where’s Je?”

“Auntie, Je went with P’Fai and the other group to play at the waterfall clearing.”

She patted him. “Thanks. You’re a life saver.”

And she started to walk quickly into the trail that leads to the waterfall clearing. Then that voice stopped her dead in her tracks, “You look like someone I know?” She frozen and couldn’t turned around, but he appeared in front of her. She kept her glaze at his chest.

“I’ve never known of you before.” Usamanee looked at the green trees that surround them—looking at anything but him.

“I heard Juang called you Usa. My friend is named Usamanee.”

She looked at him, “Usamanee is a typical name.” She walked around him, walking faster to get to her baby.

Jessadaporn watched her walk away. He couldn’t help the smile on his face. God have finally intersected their life again. He never thought to find her here. He ran after her and grabbed her arm and twisted her around, “Usamanee may be a common name, but your face, I can remember it anywhere.”

She was losing her cool, “Let me go.” He did. “Don’t mistake me for a dead person.” She hated that she blurted too much out and now he was smiling that smile that melts her.

“Usamanee Vatayanun, you never died. You never died in my heart.”

“I don’t know you.” She ran the rest of the clearing, but found it empty. She turned around, and he was blocking her again.

“Look at me.” Jessadaporn crooked his spine to look at her eye to eye. “First, you sink at lying. Second, we’ve been apart for painfully way too long. And third, where’s my child?”

“Jessadaporn, you’re full of it.” Usamanee pushed at him.

He hugged her and he held her tight. He placed his chin on her shoulder. “I’ve overlooked you twice. I’m not losing you for the third time.” He held her tighter to cease her wiggles for release. “You watched me for 5 years of my marriage. Then you took the hardest job of living as Ploy to bring me back. Listen to me, I love you then when you’re my assistant, then posing as Ploy, and I never stop loving you.”

Usamanee knew everything was blow up. He seemed to have her figured out, “You said you never wanted to see me again. I don’t know what I was thinking playing god and living as Ploy to try to change you back, but no, you’re impossibly cruel!”

Jessadaporn let her hit him and he let her go. He chased after her, and walked a step behind her, asking her questions, “So, when did you fell for me? I was a jerk, huh? By the way, you make the best coffee. Did I ever tell you when I realized I love you all along? How does our son look?”

They were back at Chai’s yard. Usamanee looked around, “Where’s everybody?”

Jessadaporn walked toward the house, “In the house.”

Usamanee gave him an ugly look, “I’m not deaf.” She pushed through him purposefully and knocked his shoulder hard. She had to get to her son before he sees her little knight. She climbed the wooden steps. She saw the children sitting in a corner and the adults conversed all around.

“Kru, Lom said you where looking for Win.” Another of her student Fai asked. “Your knight is playing with the kids in Ceewat’s room.”

She headed for the open room. Then that tall statue was in front of her again.

“Khun Jessdaporn, you’re back.” Jane walked over and looked at Usamanee, “You got her back.” Jane looked at her, “Everyone is talking about you how you are the star of the village.”

“Sorry, I was looking for my—uh my son.”

Ceewat joined the conversation, “Kru Usa is like that, her mind is always on her son. He’s only 4, but he’s super smart like her.”

“More like the father.” Usamanee’s jaw dropped at the bomb that Jessadaporn just dropped. She turned to give him her most scary look. Everyone was looking at them. Jessadaporn smiles at the on-lookers,

“Don’t worry, she gives me that killer look all the time.” He knew that he got on her nerve.
Usamanee quickly grabbed on his arm as if she can shut him down, “Ur….”

He smiled wider at the crowd who on catching on that there was smoothing between their village hero and this kind billionaire. “What Usamanee is trying to say is that I’m her husband.” The faces of his Foundation’s workers to Jane to the villagers were now in deep shock. They spoke at the same time.

“You see—.”

“No, he’s not--.”

“Kru!!! Something’s wrong! Win is choking!!!”

Usamanee jumped and ran to Ceewat’s room. The children were huddled in a corner, and Lom was crying next to his friend. “Win..Winnn….”

Usamanee embraced her son and rested his head on her lap. Her mother instincts were on red alert. “What wrong baby?” His face was red and he was kicking in pain and she saw hives breaking out on him.

Jessadaporn dropped right beside her, and it was the most beautiful natural phenomenal. He looked right at his own flesh and blood and it was like he was looking at himself. He looked at his baby fighting in pain and his love crying. He looked around and saw a candy wrapper on the floor. The villager crowded the room looking concern trying to help.

Jessadaporn looked up at Usamanee and held up the candy wrapper. “Is he allergic to peanuts?’
Usamanee scream-cried at his ambiguous question. “Why would he be allergic to peanuts?!!”

“Because I am.” Everything clicked in him. He hollered to his workers, “Get me my bag from the car right now.” A long 20 seconds later, he was handed his bag. Quickly, he found his syringe and the bottle of epinephrine. He had given himself the shot 3 unfortunate time in his life. He prepared in a second and inserted it into the small thigh of his son. It only took a few second for little Win to start coughing again as he grasp for breathe. And slowly, like a miracle, he started to breathe better and he turned to Usamanee.

“Mommy…”

“My brave knight, where are you hurt?”

“All over mommy.” And he held her tightly.

Jessadaporn quickly pulled out his cell phone, “Hello, this is Jessadaporn Pholdee. I need the Flight for Life unit right now in the village Sawan Namthai. My 4 year old son is having an anaphylactic reaction to peanut allergy. I got him stable with epinephrine. I will have someone wave up a flag for landing.” Jessadaporn picked up his son. “We need a clearing wide enough for a helicopter landing.”

Chai came up to Jessadaporn, “Just right outside, my buffalo’s grass pasture is wide enough.”

Jessadaporn looked at his other side, and Usamanee was holding his hand, and he felt like he can take the world head on any day with his wife and son by his side.

CHAPTER TWENTY======================================================================
(Emergency room)
“He’s going to be alright. Is there anything else I should know?”

Usamanee looked at Jessadaporn. He looked at the doctor, “Uhmm, we just found out that he’s has peanut allergy. But just to be safe. In addition to peanut, my son might be allergic to latex and rubbing alcohol.”

“Thank you, Khun Pholdee. Your son will be safe all because you donated that flight unit to us this year. In the rural like this, emergencies are the most fatal.”

Usamanee looked at him, ready to strangle him. “You’re allergic to peanuts, latex, and rubbing alcohol? You got a bad pool of genes!”

Jessadaporn crossed his arms, smelling a fight, “He’s safe. Now all I have to worry about is you murdering me.”

“You’re right!” She started to beat him, and he let her. She was crying and slowly she lost her strength in hitting him. “You’re such a jerk! Does he look like me? I’m her husband?” She swiped her tears to give her a clearer look at him. “Why are you smiling?”

“When I found you out five years ago, I’ve been wondering about how we would meet again, how I’m going to win you over?”

Usamanee smacked his shoulder again. “Don’t think you can drop in?”

“I’ve changed.” He lifted his arm in the air to have her check him out. “I named your Foundation the 1000 Paper Cranes and my Bank is the continual source fund. I’m cleaned. I’m living with my grandma. I’m celibate.” He raised his brows at her, “I’m the Jesus born again.” He leaned at her, thrusting his pelvic at her.

Usamanee frowned at him and pushed him off and hit him again, “Jessadaporn, you sure got--.”

The doctor came out, “Your son looks just like you, Khun Pholdee.” Two nurses wheeled little Win out, “They are taking him to a room. I’ll like to have him stay overnight.” He looked to Jessadaporn, “A nurse will be out shortly for paperwork.”

The doctor left. Usamanee and Jessadaporn followed their wheeled son. As they neared the room, a nurse came out and asked, “Can a parent come with me to handle the paperwork.”

Jessadaporn looked at Usamanee, “You go. I don’t even know his name.”

She narrowed her eyes at him but turned to go with the nurse.

He watched her walk away, and he turned to see his little replica sitting on the bed. He entered and slowly like the first person on the moon, he inched toward his son.

“Are you my daddy?” Jessadaporn nodded and sat on the bed side and looked at the brave 4 year old. Jessadaporn held out his hand. Slowly, little Win took his hands and shook it. Then little Win raised his tiny hand to examine close up, “Will I be big like you?”

Jessadaporn laughed, “Yes, maybe even taller.”

“Wow, no way! You’re a giant!”

He looked at his son, “What have your mother told you about me?”

Win looked downed like he was contemplating his loyalty, and then looked up at the man that he had always wondered about. All of his friends had daddies, and today he finally meets his own one. “Mommy doesn’t talk about you at all. You know girls, she cries a lot when she gives these looks at me. She keeps pinching my cheeks like a baby and tells me that I remind her of you.”

“Yeah? You do look like me.”

“Yeah.”

Jessadaporn felt that connection to his son, “You’re mommy is going to kick me out of here the moment she’s back. Daddy’s been bad, but…” He smiled, “I’m going to win her over.”

Little Je nods his head, “Mommy’s a hard one to win over. She makes me shower all the time. She doesn’t get it. Boys and dirt are meant to mix.”

Jessadaporn cracked out laughing then he looked at his son full of love, “Can I hug you?”
The kid jumped at the opportunity and held on his daddy tight, “Are you going to stay?”

“Yeap. We got to make up for the lost time. I’m going to go buy you a bike so we can go riding together. What’s your favorite color?”

“Red.”

“Like the Red Power Ranger?”

“What’s Power Ranger.” Jessadaporn remember that the village was still in the stone age.

“Oh, you’re going to like Power Rangers.” He reached for his phone, “Hello, Best Electronic. I would like all the Power Ranger movie you have in stock and the biggest TV you have. Yes. Jessadaporn Pholdeee. Visa…” He recited his credit card number and patted his son’s hair, “Send to Ratchai Hospital…” He turned to his son, “What’s your name?”

“Jessawin.” Then little Win spoke to himself. “Wow, our names are similar.”

Jessadaporn smiled and spoke into the phone, “For Jessawin Pholdee.” He hung up and he smiled. Saying his sons name brought his a warm feeling.

He caught Usamanee at the door. He quickly gave Jessawin a peck. “If mommy get upset later about the Power Ranger, tell her that she’s a not fun at all.” Little Win nodded.

“Win?” Usamanee pushed Jessadaporn away and hugged her son, “What you make my son agree to?” She looked at her son, “What did he talk to you about?”

“Mommy, why didn’t you tell me that Daddy is a Superman! He gave me that shot and I was able to breathe.” Jessadaporn gave his son a thumb up. Then he stole the papers on her hands.

Jessadaporn scanned the documents, “He’s born on New Year’s day? This kid sure knows how to make an entrance.” He looked at Usamanee, “I’ll bring this paper to the reception. You got some information all wrong. It’s Jeesawin Pholdee no Vataynun, and on the blank biological father line, write Jessadaporn Pholdee, and my name alone will take care of the payment method.”

“Jessadaporn!” She gave him a swing of her arm.

“Our son is staring!” Little Win laughed.

Usamanee stopped and she stared him down, “Get out!”

He waved, “I’ll be back tomorrow, Win.”

“Get out!!!”

He closed the door to drown out her screaming him out. He held the paper in his arms and he learned everything he did about his son. He smiled. Born in the village, so no hospital birth. That meant no birth certificate or any record. He’s knew exactly how he was going to win her over.
