This is the film version of the You Are My Sunshine / My Sunshine drama that starred Wallace Chung and Tang Yan.  The cast for this film version though is Huang Xiao Ming and Yang Mi.  Exo's Tao, Angelababy, Tong Dawei etc... and a few others have slight roles or cameos in here too.  I must say that Tao is pretty lucky to debut in such a big name cast, a lucky fellow he is.

I really loved/enjoyed the drama version with Wallace and its storyline, so I'll definitely give this film version a shot.... since my dear Huang Xiao Ming is in here too :p

I really loved Wallace as Yi Chen... Now I just have to prepare myself to accept Ming as Yi Chen hahaha.... it'll be hard but I could manage something :p

A movie version, too? Was it that popular? I watched the drama and thought (aside from some unnecessarily dragged out moments) it wasn't so bad compared to other Chinese dramas recently, but there were a lot of moments where I had no idea what these characters were thinking, especially the male lead. And when things are revealed as the story progresses, I find I understand him even less and just learn to accept whatever it is as is. The idea behind the story is fine, but I felt they took too long to explain a storyline that could have been done in less episodes. Perhaps that will be the movie's biggest draw. With a tighter time frame, the storyline will play out better. But still, the drama just aired. It's still fresh on people's minds. They couldn't wait a while before starting on the movie version?

^ I agree, they could've waited awhile before making the film.  The novel was popular, and the drama was a success too.

I see it as a trend lately in China though.  They would be making a film version out of past novel/dramas.  For ex:  Bu Bu Jing Xin got turned into a film... and The Four, and Tiny Times got turned into another drama.

I feel that if it's not a classic that is getting remade, it's a drama or the other.  I personally don't mind but... I do feel that they shouldn't make the gap that close to one another though.

I don't mind watching a movie version of a drama that isn't a classic (come on, how many times can they redo ROCH or any part of its series, spinoffs, etc.), but some space in between is good. But then again, I guess they want to strike while the iron's hot because what if people lose interest in the storyline a year or two from now? If you have the means to film it now, why not before it becomes "old news?"

The film was released a month and a half ago. I would say give it another two or three months then it should be available for viewing if people decide to post it up.

I'm still waiting for it too :)
