When reading an article from the New York Times Mag. (dated from July 30, 1939), for my upcoming personal project, I came across to this nice food map & article below and simply wanted to share with our Asian Fusers here who love foods like me :p

Next time that i come to the US, I definitely will bring this map with me haha....

Holly cow, i didn't know that in Wisconsin they have Goose paté ??? :yummy: LOL...

....

at the end of this article, there is this strange & disturbing advertisement, I first thought of anorexia children,,, but in fact it's not, we are simply in 1939 !!

Nowadays, I think we see more the opposite of this ads... ALI Pills, Weight Watcher & so on...

1939? Kinda outdated don't you think? Lol. Where's the olives in CA? :)
LOL.... you are right !!! I'm getting old, my oldism is changing slowly my mind for "outdated" stuff... LOL ... :p

Olives in CA ??? i never saw them (yet),,, but you guyz have Prunes, Avocado,
Oranges and many more... and California Wine

Some may say that the map of 1939 is ugly comparing to the following one:

... of McDonalds fast "growing" foods :p [source : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/6249861/McDonalds-map-reveals-McFarthest-Point-in-America.html]

what an excellent post.

I see salmon mentioned in Washington state.. but I'm not sure about biscuits. The funny thing is how the map has Idaho has potatoes.. still sooooo true to this day.
