I'm so late watching this drama, but I must show my appreciation for this lakorn. First off, I love romantic dramas, ones that leave you with a sense of satisfaction after watching it and this lakorn definitely did that for me.

I know that some might think this drama to be too slow in pace, but overall I was not disappointed and felt a lot happened with the development of the characters love for one another in each episode. The reason why I was drawn to this lakorn was b/c of the storyline, but I was surprised with how much I have come to love Ruj and Araya as characters and have now developed a fandom for them.

I love Andrew's portrayal and interpretation of his character Ruj. I have never seen Andrew play such a stiff character (in movement, mannerism, and expression), but his portrayal of Ruj was just perfect to me b/c Andrew was also able to show Ruj's gentleness through the stiff and at times, cold exterior.

Some viewers might see Ruj as dull, but to me, that is what I enjoyed seeing most and find so special about this character. I find Ruj to be a different kind of pra ek. He is a man with an introvert personality that talks little, smiles little, means what he says, stern, but yet at the same time is very gentle and warm. That's probably why I squealed so much at some of those scenes when he accidentally showed her his warmth or the times when he intentionally made efforts to show her he cared b/c these gestures of skinship and softness were coming from such a reserved man. I guess that is why Araya had such a hard time adjusting herself to him and found it difficult to act around him b/c he was so cold at first, but yet she would see glimpses of his true nature. I love what Charlie's mom said to Noona, "that all it took was a glimpse of kindness from him and all the mean things that he'd done to her disappeared", and with that love was able to develop.

And how could Araya not love him? After all, Ruj is not innately mean, he has his reasons. He's an intellect and he believes what his eyes see and he saw his step mother with another man alone secretly in the garden and then, when he returned home, the Rujiroj family jewels were gone....reasons for any person to to assume the worse of another person.

But I loved it that although he hated the mom, when he began to see Araya's goodness, I loved it that he made efforts to put his hate for the mother aside and begin to accept the daughter. Yes, there were times when he was frustrated by the surge of emotions that were foreign to him....his growing possessiveness of her....and at times he confused these emotions with his hatred for the mom.....and it scared him b/c his head was telling him one thing, while his heart told him another.

Also, other reasons I love this pra ek, in the beginning he is resentful of Araya and was mean to her, but it was only through his mean words. He never plotted anything bad against her for revenge or ever wanted to physically hurt her. On the contrary, he didn't mind providing for her (it's his caring nature). I loved that scene when he had guests over and he asked Suk to go get her to join them for lunch b/c even though he didn't like her, he still considered her a part of his household. Then when Sowarot said those suggestive things about Araya being inappropriately too close to Charlie, I liked it how he shut her up by simply saying that "they're just childhood friends, I too played with Charlie's sister Noona". I definitely loved it that he was smart to sense that Sowwarot was two timing him. And then when Sowarot was there at his house for too long and started irritaing him, I loved it that he was so direct as to say, "Aren't you seeing Pakinai?" Haha!!! I love me a smart and direct pra ek.

I love love love how his jealously is portrayed in this lakorn. It wasn't over the top. He never went out of his way to show off to Charlie or Pakanai by putting his arms around her in front of them, which we often see in other lakorns as a way for the pra ek to stake ownership. Ruj's jealousy was of a silent nature. He may have seemed calm on the outside, but his love and need for Araya really shook him to his core.

But yes, if you're reading this thread and are debating whether or not to give this drama a try, I do highly recommend it. It's not for everybody, but if you love romantic lakorns where all the action is in the dialogue and how the innocence of a couple's attraction turns into deep love, then you' ll enjoy this lakorn. All of the excitement is in what they felt for one another, but were not yet ready to admit. Plus, you won't be disappointed in Andrew's acting. As for Mint....yes, she needed help here and there, but it's forgivable with her being a newbie. I do see potential for growth for her as an actress. Plus, she really is so adorable as Araya

Aweeeee, I talk too much, but I only talk a lot about what I love and I do love Kehad See Daeng. It's a wonderful little love story.

P.S. This version definitely is better than the older version for me. I remember watching Sam's version, but don't remember falling in love with Ruj the same way as Andrew portrayed and interpreted this character.

One of my most favorite photos of them together.
I love how happy Mint looks to be sitting next to Andrew. :D

I was searching on youtube for English sub lakorns and saw this lakorn was completed with subs. So then I came here to check people's comments on the lakorn and Looksy, it was after reading your review that I decided to give the lakorn a try and I'M GLAD I DID b/c I really liked it!!! Andrew and Mint had great chemistry.

I loved seeing the development of Andrew's love & jealousy of Mint. The producer/director did a great job of building it up and having Andrew finally saying out loud to Mint that he loves her (love that scene btw & glad it happened in an earlier episode and not the ending ep). The sweet scenes Andrew & Mint had together always had me smiling, and I liked Andrew jealousy scenes as well b/c he seems so cold and mean towards Mint in the beginning so to seem him jealous of her it showed his feelings for her were changing and that his heart was yearning for her.

Thanks to this lakorn I became a fan of Mint and this is now my 2nd favorite lakorn of Andrew (with "Luk Mai Klai Ton" still being my 1st fave lakorn of Andrew). Thanks Looksy for your review!

Mars231, I'm delighted that you gave Kehad See Daeng a try and that you enjoyed it as much as me. :D

I agree, the director/screenwriter did a fantastic job with building the tension between Ruj and Araya. Their growing love for one another was modest and subtle. I absolutely loved those scenes of Ruj taking care of Araya when she was sick.........it was like, all of the things that he had felt for her, but was not yet ready to admit, he was able to express it in the way he held and comforted her while she was unconscious. Those scenes were so wonderfully sweet and really shows us the gentleness of his love for her.

And OMGosh, I agree, I really loved the scene when Ruj professed his love. The confession lasted only about a minute, but he was able to say so much in that one minute............"We love each other don't we?.....I've loved you for a long time now....Come back home with me....Don't you love me as much as I love you?....You belong to me.....No one loves you as much as me.....Tell me that you love me too....Don't you miss me?"..........*SQUEALS*.........It was not only what he said, but the way he said it......the way he dug deep from his heart, the tenderness in his tone, and the loving way he held her and nestled his head against her hair. His love confession and all of those times he re-affirmed his love for her really had me squealing b/c this man that smiles little and speaks little could be so passionate and direct when in comes to love.

I couldn't have said it better...those scenes were a great way for Ruj to admit to his feelings without anyone knowing, but us viewers. Those scenes of him taking care of her while she was sick was sweet and intimate. I can't wait to watch those scenes again. I'm re-watching the lakorn for the 3rd time right now and I'm ep 6 where she's taking care him while he's sick...hahaha.

Yeah, I LOVE what he said to her. Lolz just reading your post of what Ruj said is making me squeal because I'm picturing that scene in my head as I was reading that part of your post..ahahaha. Oh and don't forgot the part where he says..."You're not anybody's. Not Charlie's. Not Pakinai's. Not anybody's. You're mine and only mine." *squeals* Like you mentioned the way he said it..in the tone he used and the way he held her made that scene come off so sweet and passionate. It didn't come off as him just wanting possess her like other p'eks would have come off as, if they were to say those things to other n'eks in a different tone. I can't wait to watch this scene too and I remember it was in ep 10...hahaha.

Yes yes, we can't forget that part and then when Araya says, "You really don't love me....Let me go" and Ruj answers, "Let you go to let you go back to Pakinai?....Don't you miss me?".......*Melts*........I love it that after he says that how Ruj(Andrew) releases his breath..........it was as if all of this passion that he had locked up inside his heart were now set free.

I'm re-watching the lakorn for the 3rd time right now and I'm ep 6 where she's taking care him while he's sick...hahaha.
Haha....after I replied to your post, I actually went back to re-watch this lakorn (it's my 5th or 6th time....hehe....). I'm currently on ep. 8 and this scene has got to be one of my favorite moments from episode 8. Ruj has just told her he will be off from work and wants her to be around and perhaps, row the boat to pick lotuses.....hehe.......I love the way she looks at him when she hears his request and then when she tells him that she won't row the boat, OMGosh, the way Ruj turned his head as if to say,"did she just refuse me?"......they look intensely at each other and then *SCREAMS* Ruj takes a step forward.................Why oh why did the maid have to turn on the porch lights and ruin the moment....hehe.........I can only imagine what Ruj would have said or DONE. I'd like to think he was going in for a kiss. I absolutely adore this lakorn. Mint and Andrew make me smile in every one of their scenes together. I even love the scenes when Ruj was angry and mean to Araya.

I like that scene too! OMG..when maid turned on the light...I was like "NOOOOOOOOO, dang it!" Lolz I was thinking the same thing...that he was going to kiss her, but the maid just had to ruin the moment..urghhh hahahaha. The only thing I would change about this lakorn is for them to have at least one kissing scene. They came so close to kissing a couple of times, which kept me on my toes in anticipating to finally happen...hahaha. I totally feel the same about the lakorn and all of the scenes with Andrew & Mint.

As I was rewatching the lakorn I noticed another a little cute moment that I have overlooked all this time. Araya was still recovering from being sick and she was still giving Ruj the cold shoulder and in the scene...one of the Maes was tucking her into bed and told Araya to sleep well b/c it was Ruj's orders. After the Mae left the room, she sat up in her bed and had this happy look on her face and said, "why is he not here to order me himself?"...kekekeke so cute, even though during that time she acted like she was mad at him and was ignoring him...but in her heart she wanted him close by her side and taking care of her. I would have loved to have had Ruj overhead her say it...lolz and then have him reply to her...that would have been a cute scene. :crush: here's a clip of the scene I'm referring to, it starts @ 2:17.....

Lolz my mom just bought the Khmer dubbed version of the lakorn after I recommended to her and unfortunately she didn't like as much as you and I do...hahahaha, but its ok since I will have another reason to re-watch the lakorn b/c I'm curious as what the Khmer translation will be for some of the Thai words.

Sorry looksy, for the late reply...there was so much going on for me last week that I haven't had a chance to reply until tonight.

Yes, it would have been extra nice to have a kiss scene, but then again, this is what makes this drama so special to me.......that it was able to convey so much love and romance without having to deliver much skinship. It's a testament to the director, screenwriter, and actors that they did their jobs well in building the tension and love between Ruj and Araya because we squealed just a loud and there wasn't even a kiss involved. I can not tell you how many times I squealed and swooned watching this lakorn. :D

Yes, I loved that part as well. It would have been nice for Ruj to overhear her say that......also, in those scenes that Ruj was taking care of Araya while she was sick, I wanted Araya to open her eyes to see Ruj holding her.............hehe..........I can only imagine what she would have thought about stiff Ruj gently holding her, comforting her, and worrying about her.

No worries on the late reply and I do appreciate you sharing with me some of your favorite moments from the lakorn. That's too bad your mom didn't enjoy this lakorn as much as us. My mom watched it when she visited me last month and she loved it, but she watched the lakorn in Thai audio from AndrewGregsonFC with me translating it b/c she's slow with reading the subs. Also, I was happy to learn that this lakorn was very popular with Chinese internet lakorn watchers.

That's true! Yeah, I don't remember any lakorn making me squeal this much without a single kissing scene either. The sweet scenes between Ruj and Araya really makes up for it because if it didn't then I don't think I would have been this interested in the lakorn from beginning to end.

YEAH! That would have been great too! Lolz I'm liking imagining what would have happened if she did open her eyes during one of those times. Oh the possibilities...hahaha.

It's been great discussing this lakorn with you and having you share your thoughts & opinions. It's nice to know someone like this lakorn as much as I did. My mom wouldn't have the patients to sit there and wait for me to translate b/c it would have taken me 45-50 mins to translate a 10 min scene..lolz that's how bad my Khmer is. Oh that's great to hear that the lakorn is popular with Chinese speaking viewers.
