 Congratulations. So happy to hear that.

So are you going to sub boran lakorn now? ^_^ It would be great if you do. ^_^
Yes, I know it will be great, but dang, I'm only doing it by myself. Maybe in the future when I'm retired and have no life. Hahaha. ^_^
Kind of busy with work now, so no time to spare. I'm still having a hard time understanding some of the Thai words they use, too.

What is "boran"? I've never watched one before. Is it like Chinese Ancient series?
Yes, they are kind of like Chinese Ancient series. That's odd; you never really saw one? LOL.
Well, the older ones made back in the 80s and 90s were only the best ones and the ones now, they're kind of lame.

I don't understand Thai so I don't have the opportunity to watch borans yet since they aren't subbed. But I love ancient series a lot more than modern series. I'll be looking out for your work.

Oh really? I never knew that. No wonder Maya does most of the translation, eh? ^_^ I feel sorry for her though yet give her alot of props; so much to translate. Boran lakorns are almost as twice as long as modern lakorns. I subbed a couple scenes and songs on YT, so you can check them out if you like. I didn't know to do permanent subs at first, so I did closed captions provided on YT, so you have to turn it on to see the subs; directions are in the comment sections. :D

Thanks, darlin'.

I wish I can help Maya with the translation too, but I'm not Thai. Poor, Maya. I miss her already. Maya is out of town now.

Anyway, I'll go check the link you gave me.

No problem. ^_^ I tried the best I can, so enjoy!

I'm not Thai myself either, but I understand it, yet still in the process of learning more,

especially with those big and deep words they're using - whoo, and it will take a while!

Hope to see Maya come back soon and safe and sound as well.

What nationality are you? I'm Vietnamese.

I check out Boran and whoo. It's very unique. Very different. I think it's going to take awhile for me to adjust to it.

I am Hmong; I was born in Thailand therefore, my family grew up

watching Thai films and we got started on Boran Lakorns. It is quite different

from Chinese Ancient Series; I'm sure you will adjust to it. So what got you

interested in Thai modern lakorns? ^_^

I started to watch Thai lakorns last year. I was bored so I just watched along with my sister. I was tired of watching Chinese, Korean, and Taiwanese series. And I really wanted to learn the language so I stepped on subbing. The first attempt was Badarn Jai (quit afterwards) and then Barp Ruk Talay Fun with maraphang. And wha-la. The end.

Are you living in the US now? What state?

mia07

Introvert
Yep, I'm still living in the U.S., residing in Wisconsin. After a year being born in Thailand, we flew to America.
My older brothers and sisters actually were the lucky ones; they know more of the Thai language than me. At
first, I did started watching it, but after many years, I stopped. I just got back into watching boran lakorns about
last Fall, I believe, and the language is starting to come to me again. I like boran lakorns more than modern lakorns
so I really just watch the borans versus the moderns. Wong Wein Hua Jai is like the first modern lakorn I've watched
after so many years. ^_^ So, after watching Thai lakorns for a year now, have you learned anything so far then? More words, etc..?

thuynmt

sarNie Fansubber
Yeah, I do learn a couple of words and I can make out a few sentences and say some simple stuff like "My name is . . . ," "I hate you," etc.

How many brothers and sisters do you have? So you're 100% Hmong?

mia07

Introvert
I have quite a big family. I have 4 brothers and 6 sisters, including me. I am the 3rd youngest in the family.
My two oldest brothers and sisters are married, so I have 8 nieces and 2 nephews. And yes, I am 100% Hmong.

How about you? Where are you from? And how did you guys come up with the "StarsSubbingTeam"? Was it hard to recruit people?

thuynmt

sarNie Fansubber
Hhahhaa, it's a long story. Too long. I didn't come up with the name. I don't know who did. But I think it was Stardust who did and we just picked out which one we like. I didn't like the name. Maya came up with HIFIVE. LOL But "Stars" was voted from some of earliest members. It's not that hard to recruit people. But it's hard to find someone with good skill and extra time to spare. Everyone started out from scratch. And some goes to school and some work, so Maya and I are the ones who keep the projects going on. I can't go without her and she probably can go without me.

Are you interested to join? We usually sub lakorns we like. And if we find the lakorn you like worth subbing, then we do it as a team.

mia07

Introvert
So, basically, there's only you two left then? Hmmm.. Thanks for the offer, but my Thai's not that great. You and Maya are doing an awesome job - I see that you two are working very hard. So keep it up; I'll be rooting for you two. ^_^ And your team only do modern lakorns, right? I'm more of a boran fan, but I just got interested in Wong Wein Hua Jai because of the trailer - it hitted me.

thuynmt

sarNie Fansubber
Yes, only Maya and I are left. And now, Maya is out of town and I'm waiting for her to come back. ^_^

What grade are you in?

What grade are you in?
So, are you guys still going to sub more lakorns afterwards? Well, I'm a freshman in college; I would have been a sophmore
by now, but I dropped a couple semesters to work because I didn't have any money and plus, the economy was really
bad as well, too. I'm going to major in Digital Arts/Graphic Designs and I also would like to study filmmaking as well.

 I'm back now, you two don't have to miss me so much now. :yahoo: ^_^
I miss you too, and glad to be back. :yahoo:

I don't understand Thai so I don't have the opportunity to watch borans yet since they aren't subbed. But I love ancient series a lot more than modern series. I'll be looking out for your work.
Thai boran is more like an ancient fantasy drama with VERY BAD special effects and over the top special powers and where men still rules over women, good verses evils, devils verse gods etc. You really have to have an acquired taste and lots of patience to watch this long boring slow type of drama. If you're one of those peoples that want things to move fast pace with modern lakorn, it will be hard to sit thru the whole boran lakorn.
But then again, if the older version from the 80 and 90 they have a good and interesting storylines... it will move really fast.
The boran lakorn that I like takes me less than a day to finish it... so that will depend on what boran we're talking about that is boring too LOL.

Hey ohMAIVdarlin, talking about subbing boran lakorn... want to help me sub Miti Mahassajun starring Boy and Benz? ^_^ I have a hard time with the ancient boran language too if I have to translate it, but I understand pretty well. I just don't think I can sub it alone. I might go crazy and give up half way LOL. :loool: hahahaha

You can check Miti Mahassajun out here uploaded by Moowharn if you don't know which one I'm talking about http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=DF56759B0A6AAC79
This lakorn it's kind of sad... but it's good lakorn, and plus is nice to watch Boy's lakorn again even he's no longer here with us anymore. :(
