What I’ve remember was n’ek mom met her dad when he visited Thailand and he was a black American.
Yes, Black American---I kept thinking he was Black born Thai. Like, Chinese born Thai. He spoke full Thai. I wondered what was said. I remember he was at the airport. I never knew if he promised her mum if he would be coming back or not. This was from the original I'm speaking about.
Shouldn’t this thread be pining on currently airing?
Yes. However, my original comments were in relation to some of the questions in regards to the original series I saw above thread.
So Maeya character is supposed to be mixed with black ? Anyway on first episode you can find her a lil over the top with "happy go lucky" vibe but after two episodes she is getting more at ease with her character. She can emote. And I find her pretty plus she is tall ☺. Maeya is working hard to become better actress. So I hope her next drama she gets to play an intelligent rich HiSo character .
Yes, she's biracial. She's half Black. Yeah, I'm watching the episode. So far Maeya is keeping her in tact without pretending to be Benz's character---thank the gods. I hate, hate, hate when actors reprise a role and seem to copy the original actors persona. Irritating. Thai actors are good at keeping the characters w/o copying original actors branding.

Maeya is super tall. I see that. I was like, she needs to be paired with taller leads. Jeez. I was like---we need a Mik on Channel 3 (although I would never pair her with Mik---EVER). They also look like they want to put her in heels. She looks like she's running on 5'8" already and then in a good 3" heels she's at 5'11". She's turning all the guys into Tom Cruise while she's Nicole Kidman.

You know, he's on the shorter side, but who I would love her paired with is Toontam. While Andrew Gregson is my favorite actor. Toontam is my favorite lover. The gods...Toontam makes me believe in love. Truly, I believe he loves his co-stars---man makes me cry. He's the only guy to make fall in love with love.

I'd like to see her play a role along side someone like him...he's a deadly strong actor when it comes to romantic roles. He brings a lot out of his co-stars. It would be interesting for me to see them on screen and I'd for her to really let go---when she's with him. I get tired of resistant girls, Maeya looks like she's one of those actresses that goes with the flow--like Pooklook, so I think she has potential to do some great stuff on screen.

[
She still overacts
You think? I don't see it? The character tends to be a bit OTT and melodramatic actually. So, I'm not really sure where the overacting line and melodramatic character ends---they sort of blur for me.

I think the reason why it looks so awkward when Maeya dances to the song is because she is soooo slim. Nothing wrong with being slim, but I've noticed most slim slim people don't do well in those sort of dance moves. Notice how the other chick she's a bit shorter and slightly thicker and she isn't performing well either but she doesn't look so awkward.

This is from Sao Noy Roy Larn

Notice how she does the steps and right body movements, but her being taller and way more slim, makes it look awkward, when really it shouldn't be. The other girl who is also in this lakorn lol looks more natural because she has more meat.

There are some scenes that Maeya does go over the top, but she is better than a few prime time nang'eks, I'll give her that lol.

I just noticed this thread wasn't pinned. I just pinned it, ooppps. lol.

I want to see maeya with more older and mature looking pra'eks... Grate, Ken T, Ken P, and maybe even Tono (Even though, I am not a huge fan of Tono lol).

I don't know anything about her dancing. I don't even notice that...I only notice her clothing--since their so pageant based, her singing, make-up, and keep getting pissed that no one is subbing this yet. I also notice how damn tall she is. She is like the Green Giant, especially when she is with her mum...like in episode 2 in that pink dress with her heels on. I was like, girl take them off, take them off. You look like you're going to step on your mum!!

What do you mean by over the top? I'm not sure how I feel about her and Ken T. I would love to see her with Grate!

Lol I am a music lover so I pay alot of attention to music, rhythm, and dance moves that go with the song. I'm not really criticizing her, just saying that to some she may appear awkward when dancing because she is sooo slim. My comment about her being over the top is in certain scenes. Like, there are some scenes that she is supposed to be sad or angry, but it comes off either under what she was supposed to hit or over what she is supposed to hit. It is natural for someone who only has two lakorns. She was like that in Sao Noy Roy Larn too.

Maeya, will be hard to pair up with channel 3 pra'eks because she is tall. They have to be careful and not that many prime time guys are extremely tall to fit her. I can see Nine being height-wise ideal for the pairing, but who are we kidding there's no way they are pairing Nine with her since they are trying to push him and a few of the younger actresses.

She will be lucky if she has a chance to be in a lakorn with an older vet just to gain more experience. It is just the way it goes. I think she glows with her complexion and she seemed comfortable as she goes. But unfortunately, I don't think the channel takes her seriously enough to want to make something out oh her.

I agree, channel 3 prefers to paint skin of artists, rather than use real darker complexions lol. The only channel that doesn't discriminate complexion too much is channel 7, but channel 7 has its flaws as well. As much as I want to see her freelance, I have to be real, the other channels aren't exactly innocent when it comes to discriminating for skin complexion. Channel 7 at least has pra'eks that will fit her lookwise in height and facial maturity. Es, Weir, Mik, to name a few.

This is a comedy lakorn basically so all the characters mannerism tends to be ott for the tone of the lakorn (office workers, Maeya friends, Best character even Art's dad). Only Art, his bro and his wife and Maeya mom keep a more serious tone. Maeya was struggling on 1st and 2nd episodes with her delivery. But by 3rd I stopped feeling she is reading her line but she has more fun with the character and she can emote.
Maeya is thin but girl got a nice b.tt curve tho like African lady (look at her side view) and nice long legs (no wonder she won miss Thailand world in 2014).
About the actors anyone but Great or Tik or poh or Rome are fine with me.

Now you speak about it, if she was to be paired with Toomtam it would be in a drama whose storyline is like this manga where the girl is taller than the boy and they have a sort of love/hate relationship at the beginning ! You know what I mean ? Maeya can play a classy elegant and sassy model like a Naomie Campbell or Tyra Banks to change her from the typical happy go lucky roles she has been given by ch3 and Toomtam can play a photograph or a more modest but witty character. I miss ToomTam being paired with Vill. I strongly believe he is his onscreen match among her costars.

Sadly, Meaya will be ignore by ch3. Have they offer her any roles after this lakorn? Maybe she’ll have more opportunities going freelance. GMM has so many projects that they keep on casting a lot of freelance actors. She doesn’t have to take lead roles, but as long as she get to improve her acting, that’s still better then sitting around for ch3 to offer her anything.

I feel her movements are kind of stiff...she does too long of dramatic pauses ..

It's a bit over for me...

If I have learned anything, the lead role is not the most important role all the time. Traditionally, if we think about it in Writer's Series Lhong Fai. Lin (Baifern's friend) in the lakorn was the nang'ek because she got the happy ending and guy. However, if we look at it from the real perspective, Baifern was the focus so she was the nang'ek unconventionally.

That's why Gmm is good... there's challenging roles...a lead to me are main characters..k & c does well with that...

What I’ve noticed in Thai lakorns, when it comes down to heavy drama, n’ek is not entirely being focused on, it’s always the supporting characters. N’ek was just a doormat. Lol. With today’s lakorns/series(mostly w GMM/One HD) there are more than one leads and have a little more rounded storylines. So no matter which characters they get casted, it’s still good.

Hopefully she’ll take your advice after her contact ends with Ch3. Seriously, I see actors like Noon S, Cheer, Amy, Kan, Baifern, just to name a few that are getting projects left and right. Noticed that a lot of these actors came from ch7. Lol

Channel 7 are losing people in their prime, and channel 3 are losing veterans (Ploy C, Aum A, Etc.). For oneHD/GMM I like that their projects have good casts for big projects. Ruen Benjapit is a good example. They literally brought all the mother of nang'rais into the parents generation! Noon S (
Nang ek+ Nang Rai roles), Pupae (Nang'ek + Nang' Rai roles), Pang (Nang'ek + Nang' Rai roles), Nampueng (Nang'ek + Nang' Rai roles). Almost all four ladies, you can recall classic lakorns where they were either a nang'ek or nang'rai.

Lord Lin chatacter was sooooo boring and her acting and voice tone so one dimensional same about her boyfriend in the drama. The issue with ch7 is they cast the actors relying too much on connection. It is so obvious this or that elder will get them favourite children roles and we will only get to see the same actors being promoted all year around. Or that actor is a veteran that has been loyal to us so even though his/her acting is shit and there is still no sign of improvement we will gladly waste roles on him/her. Look at the way they keep promoting the same persons or some shitty actors like New while sleeping on big potential actresses like Baifern or Now

Did ch3 release today and yesterday’s episodes yet? Hehe I can’t wait!! :D I don’t find Maeya and Art compatible, kind of an odd pairing that’s why I’m more drawn to Best and Art! Hehe :)

If possible she should freelance, she’ll prob get more chances with other diverse actors.

I think best is adorable...nowaday in some lakorns supporting roles are more relevant than the leads. It is like side characters galore all of a sudden. Some supporting has a better ending to them than some leading couples. And air time are almost equal. If I was a n'ek and there's a role even if not the lead I probably grab it just to challenge myself and not worry too much about it. Especially, the ones that are established already. The problem with thai industry is that they are afriad to tarnish that n'ek image.
