Love Raingsey's version of the OST to Tam Rak Kuen Jai. Can't believe RHM isn't recognizing how much potential she has by promoting/signing her.

Yeah she does have a really good voice! Is she from one of those singing contest like the Voice or Khmer Idols? She in RHM?

Yes, she's one of the contestants from The Voice season 2. She made it until the semi finals (top 8). Typically, with every singing competition, RHM has those who make it to the live shows sign a contract with them for a year. Within the contract, those contestants have to sing/tour with them for different concerts (Toubourg, Carabao etc.) but they're not signed to be a recorded singer with them unless they're part of the top 4. RHM earns commission whenever other agencies or companies want to hire contestants for events like weddings and parties because they were recognized through Hangmeas TV and they're not allowed to sign with another production until their contract is over.

What happened with Raingsey was after she left the show, she automatically got a contract with them but they made no effort to promote her in any way. She signed with them believing it would open her doors to more growth and opportunity. What she didn't expect was for them to treat her poorly. She performed on Hangmeas Teen Concert and I think Dontrey Ler Tirk once but otherwise, nothing. And then another contestant who was also eliminated during semi finals, Reth Suzana got signed with RHM so that left Raingsey and everyone else disappointed because they all made it to the top 8 yet Suzana is the only one who gets to sign with RHM. I believe Town and Sunday wanted to get Raingsey into their production but RHM forbid her to do so, basically telling her to shut up, stay still and don't do anything lol.

Whoa, @patesserie you know so much about these singers. I am impressed. The Voice Cambodia season one pissed me off. I think the female 2nd place should have won. Anyway, RHM are promoting the the younger, more popular ones, instead of the talented ones. Oh my gosh, their new "original" songs are annoying and meaningless. I thought Reth Suzanna was okay. Her voice is not powerful at all. The new songs she just released sounds flat. And that boy band group from RHM is bad also, I don't know what they're singing about. Do you live or visit Cambodia a lot to know about these celebrities? Or you read or watch media?

Haha thanks dear! I was actually born and raised in Canada na. I've always been very passionate about Khmer music and arts since I was little so I used to follow up with the entertainment industry closely by reading, watching and collecting Karaoke DVDs. It's not the case anymore but I watch some concerts and singing competitions once in a while. I'm also a singer myself so throughout the years of performing and touring around for Khmer events, I've met with singers and promoters.

Are you referring to Chamroeun Sopheak? She has good voice and has the quality to be a recorded singer. I think sometimes it doesn't matter who wins the trophy/title and its more about who is able to be successful for a longer period of time. Seyha's fame has died down very early but Sopheak is getting work left and right.

As for Reth Suzana, I don't know how to feel about her. Her voice is okay and I applaud her for her confidence but she needs a lot of work with her singing in both English and Khmer.

Khmer version to the OST of Samee Tee Tra. If any of you watched Cambodian Idol Season 2 then you'll recognize Kan-ha as Mung Chan Kanha who made it to the top 6. She got first place here in Apsara's The Best Star 2014 while Raingsey got second and Bon Rona aka Tell Thai (The winner of The Voice Season 2) came in third place.

Hi @patesserie, thanks for continuing to share. I got one message from you had replied back. I guess you didn't get it. I didn't get a notification from this tag either. No, I didn't fully watch Cambodian Idol season 2. The two ladies does have a nice voice tho.

NP! There's actually a lot of Lakorn OST in Khmer so I figured I'd compile them all in here, eventually. Lol I figured something was wrong with AF's PM. I tried sending a message to you twice but nothing showed up in my inbox. I'll message you through Sabaidee forum instead. Haha so yapp! Yes I can understand Thai and sadly, it's pretty much a direct translation from Thai to Khmer.

I prefer a direct translation so Khmer can save/use their created lyrics for their original music.
