@xodxo I’m not very sure if Azerbaijan is similar in culture to Afghanistan. I think Azerbaijan is near Europe. For sure not in the Middle East or in Central Asia. Isn’t Azerbaijan kind of similar to Russia?
@mayag It’s okay. Sadly, the only time westerners ever hear news about Afghanistan, it always has to do with war or terrorism and the taliban! I hope one day I can visit my country when things are more peaceful like they used to be :( it’s crazy to see how conservative and scary Afghanistan is when it once used to be so modern and beautiful
I’m sorry I just feel so curious about Afghan and Pakistan now..how are they similar? I almost heard Pakistan was kind similar to India too? Girl educate us ^^
@SuzieJ you’ve never been to Afghanistan? @xodxo I’m Indian and I think Pakistanis are more similar to us because we share similar languages, food, clothing, music, etc. It can also be hard to tell Pakistanis apart from Indians. Correct me if I’m wrong SuzieJ!
Omg @mayag omg wowowow O.o I never knew we had so much diversity in this forum omg I’m shockkkkkked!!!!!!!!!! Galore!!!!! Wow. I’m impressed!!! Omg I’m so shocked let me go breathe I’ll be back lol
Pakistan and India were once one country. Then they separated I believe due to lots of religious clashes. Pakistanis are mostly Muslim and Indians are obviously mostly Hindu. It would be kind of foolish of me to say that Pakistan and India have similar cultures because India is a huge country with so many different sub cultures but mainstream culture is very similar you can say.
Pakistan and Afghanistan border each other. One of the largest ethnic groups in Afghanistan are called pathans. They reside both in Afghanistan and Pakistan and speak the language called Pashto. So Afghanistan and Pakistan are closely linked together
@mayag No I’ve never been to Afghanistan. I was born and raised in the U.S. I hope one day in the future I can go visit once things kind of settle down but right now isn’t really the best time. You are Indian as well? When my father and his family escaped Afghanistan during the Cold War, they immigrated to India and lived there for about 5 years! He absolutely loved India :)
@mayag Yes most pathans live near the Pakistani border :) Thank you! I really love Indian food as well and I have so many pairs of Indian clothing! When Afghans have weddings , about maybe like 1 or 2 weeks before we have a henna night where we all either wear our traditional afghan clothes or we wear our Indian clothes! Our cultures are very closely tied together!
Everyone I know talks about Taj Mahal I wish to visit it one day. :) @mayag I was born in US. One day I will reveal my ethnicity, just not today 555 :)
You should definitely should! I haven’t seen it myself lmao.
Okay girl. Keep the secret alive haha. I’m going to broadly guess SE Asian since you seem to know quite a bit of Thai!!
